Fist of the North Star Is Back After 18 Years — Catch Up on Prime Video Before the Finale

The post-apocalyptic martial arts legend is back — and Singapore fans can watch it right now on Amazon Prime Video. Fist of the North Star (北斗の拳) returned to TV screens in April 2026 for the first time in 18 years, and with the finale a week away, now is the perfect weekend to binge all 11 episodes before the curtain falls.

You Are Already Dead — What This New Anime Is

The 40th Anniversary anime, produced by Warner Bros. Japan, is a full reimagining of the original manga’s story — not a continuation, but a faithful retelling that modernises the visuals while honouring the source material. For those new to the franchise: the story is set in a post-nuclear wasteland where civilisation has collapsed. Kenshiro, a master of Hokuto Shinken — a deadly martial art that destroys opponents from within — travels the devastated world searching for his kidnapped fiancée Yuria, clashing with warlords and protecting the weak along the way.

Director Hiroshi Maeda leads the production, and the art style uses CG animation that aims to bring Tetsuo Hara’s iconic angular character designs to life with modern production values. The result is a show that reads as unmistakably Hokuto no Ken while feeling built for 2026 screens.

Cast and Music

The voice cast is stacked. Shunsuke Takeuchi (known to anime fans as Ryunosuke Tanaka in Haikyuu!!) takes on Kenshiro, with Daiki Yamashita (Midoriya in My Hero Academia) as Bat and MAO as Rin. The supporting roster includes Yuichi Nakamura, Koichi Yamadera, and Saori Hayami — a lineup that reads like a who’s who of contemporary anime.

The opening theme is “Hallelujah” by [Alexandros], one of Japan’s most celebrated rock bands. The ending theme pulls off something remarkable: Toshl — vocalist of X Japan — performs “愛をとりもどせ!!” (Ai wo Torimodose), the legendary 1984 original anime’s opening song, reborn as the new series’ ending. For fans who grew up with the franchise, that song alone is worth tuning in for.

Where and When to Watch in Singapore

Fist of the North Star 2026 streams exclusively on Amazon Prime Video globally, including Singapore. New episodes release every Friday night into Saturday morning SGT (new episodes go up at approximately midnight SGT). Both English subtitles and an English dub are available.

Episode 11 of 12 drops this week, making it the penultimate episode before the finale on the weekend of 26–27 June. If you start this weekend, you can binge all 11 available episodes and be ready for the finale in real time.

Why This Is Worth Your Weekend

The franchise has been dormant for a long time — the last full animated production was a 2008 film, and before that, the original 1984–1988 TV anime that defined a generation of action anime fans across Asia. For a whole cohort of Singapore viewers, Hokuto no Ken was a formative part of growing up around the VHS era or early cable. This 2026 series is the first proper TV return in 38 years.

Even for viewers coming in fresh, the show rewards patience: it builds a brutal, kinetic world, and the new production leans into the franchise’s theatricality and emotionality rather than softening them. It is not a gentle watch, but it is a compelling one.

Last Words

If this show slipped past you over the past ten weeks, that is understandable — it launched quietly in April with limited English-language buzz. But with the finale one week out and all episodes available to binge now on Prime Video Singapore, there has never been a better moment to discover or rediscover one of action anime’s great classics. Fist of the North Star in 2026 is the rare revival that takes its source material seriously.

RADWIMPS 20th Anniversary Concert Streams on Netflix This Saturday

RADWIMPS — the Japanese band whose music defined a generation of anime films — is bringing their sold-out 20th anniversary live tour to Netflix worldwide this Saturday, June 20. If you have even the softest spot for Your Name, this is unmissable viewing for Singapore fans.

RADWIMPS 20th Anniversary Concert: What to Expect on Netflix

The Netflix special captures RADWIMPS performing at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena on December 27, 2025 — the closing night of a 17-show Japan tour that visited nine cities and sold out every single venue. The full performance runs to 21 songs including the encore, sweeping across the band’s two-decade catalogue.

The setlist draws from their latest album Anew alongside the career-defining anthems that anime fans around the world have come to love. Confirmed tracks on the night include “Tamamono,” “Sparkle,” “MAAFAKA,” “Tummy,” “Iindesuka?,” and “Hitsu Zetsu.” For those who have seen Your Name — and that is basically everyone — hearing “Sparkle” ring out across a packed Ariake Arena is a whole different experience.

The Band That Scored Your Name, Weathering with You, and Suzume

Formed in Kanagawa in 2001, RADWIMPS built a decade of cult following in Japan before their partnership with director Makoto Shinkai on Your Name (2016) made them a household name worldwide. They went on to score Weathering with You (2019) and Suzume (2022), earning Japan Academy Awards for Best Original Score across all three — a triple sweep that cements them as the defining sonic voice of modern anime film.

The band’s music is now inseparable from those films for millions of fans. In Singapore, where all three Shinkai films were box-office hits, RADWIMPS have a devoted following that stretches well beyond typical J-rock audiences. The 20th anniversary tour is as much a celebration for those fans as it is for the band.

Blu-ray, DVD, and Bonus Guest Footage

If streaming once is not going to be enough, a Blu-ray and DVD release follows on August 12, 2026, priced at ¥6,800 (standard edition) or ¥8,300 for a limited edition with commemorative goods. The physical release also includes exclusive footage from the Yokohama Arena shows, featuring guest appearances by BUMP OF CHICKEN, Vaundy, and YOASOBI — none of which will be on Netflix. International pre-orders are expected to open on RADWIMPS’ overseas store ahead of the August release.

Last words

RADWIMPS last played Singapore in early 2024, and the energy in the room that night was proof of just how deeply their catalogue resonates here. The Netflix special — filmed at the peak of their 20th anniversary run — is the next best thing to being at Ariake Arena. Add it to your queue now: the concert lands on Netflix Singapore on June 20. Re:ZERO Season 4 The Recapture Arc Is Coming August 12

The Loss Arc is over, Emilia has sung again, and the calendar now says August 12. After the emotionally devastating Season 4 Episode 11 finale aired yesterday, White Fox and the Re:ZERO4 PARTNERS production committee have locked in the second half of Re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another World Season 4: The Recapture Arc begins on Crunchyroll on August 12, 2026.

Re:ZERO Season 4 Part 2: Date, Episodes, and What to Expect

Following the 11-episode Loss Arc that wrapped on June 17, The Recapture Arc runs for 8 additional episodes — bringing Season 4’s total to 19 episodes across both consecutive cours. The arc picks up the threads left brutally hanging by the Loss Arc’s finale: Rem remains trapped in an unending sleep, Crusch has lost her memories, and Julius had his very name devoured by the Authority of Gluttony. Subaru and his allies must now fight to reclaim everything that was taken from them in the city of Priestella.

Season 4 adapts Arc 5 and Arc 6 of Tappei Nagatsuki’s light novel, two of the most ambitious and emotionally punishing story sections in the franchise. Part 2 is expected to delve deeper into Arc 6, which had not been adapted in animated form before this season.

Stay Alive ~Regain~ Is Out Now on Streaming

Alongside the key visual reveal, a special new recording of Re:ZERO’s iconic Season 1 ending theme has been released. “Stay Alive ~Regain~” is performed once again by Rie Takahashi in her role as Emilia, composed and written by Heart’s Cry — the same creative team behind the 2016 original. The track debuted at the close of Season 4 Episode 11 and is now available on digital streaming platforms worldwide as of today, June 18.

Speaking about the new performance, Takahashi said she “embraced it with the warmth that Emilia carries in her heart today,” as shared via Anime Corner. For fans who remember that song from Season 1, hearing it again at this point in the story hits completely differently.

Anime Expo 2026 Early Screening and Singapore Streaming

Before August 12 rolls around, Singapore-based fans heading to Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles — or following it remotely — will get early impressions to look forward to: Episode 1 of The Recapture Arc is scheduled for a theatrical screening on July 3 as part of KADOKAWA’s Anime 10th Anniversary Panel.

For Singapore fans staying home, the series streams on Crunchyroll, which is available here with weekly simulcast access. If you haven’t caught up on Season 4 Part 1 yet, all 11 Loss Arc episodes are already live — you have roughly seven weeks before Part 2 begins. Check out our other anime coverage for more seasonal picks in the meantime.

Re:ZERO has never been kind to its characters, and the Loss Arc proved once again that Nagatsuki is in no hurry to give Subaru anything he hasn’t bled for first. August 12 and eight episodes to go. Get your re-watch in, stream “Stay Alive ~Regain~” to prepare yourself emotionally, and mark the calendar — The Recapture Arc is almost here.

Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 key visual

Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 Hits Crunchyroll on 8 July

Nine years after Studio NUT first put a child soldier through the horrors of an alternate-world Great War, Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 finally has its premiere date locked in — and Singapore fans on Crunchyroll can circle 8 July 2026 on their calendars.

Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 — Official Trailer via AnimeSelect on YouTube

Nine Years Later — Tanya Is Back

Kadokawa first confirmed a second season back in June 2021, then went very quiet. A teaser trailer surfaced in November 2025, followed by a full trailer, new key visual, and cast updates unveiled at the Kadokawa booth during AnimeJapan 2026 on 28 March. With Crunchyroll’s official summer 2026 simulcast schedule now confirmed, 8 July is the date.

For the uninitiated: the original 2017 season adapts Carlo Zen’s light novel series about a cutthroat Japanese salaryman reincarnated as Tanya von Degurechaff, a small blonde girl in a magical-meets-militaristic alternate version of early-twentieth-century Europe. She’s assigned to the Imperial Army, and she turns brutal survival instincts into terrifying battlefield efficiency. It’s part dark isekai, part WWI military thriller, and it built a fiercely loyal following across Southeast Asia. The 2019 film Saga of Tanya the Evil: The Movie followed, but Season 2 has been the one fans have spent years waiting for.

Same Studio, Same Composer, New Director

Studio NUT returns to animate the sequel, keeping the visual language consistent with Season 1 and the film. The writing is again handled by Kenta Ihara, who wrote the series composition for Season 1. Yuji Hosogoe is also back as character designer and chief animation director, so Tanya’s signature unsettling wide-eyed expression should survive the transition.

What does change is the director’s chair. Takayuki Yukimoto takes over, marking his first time leading a full series as director. That’s a notable shift from Season 1’s Yutaka Uemura, though Yukimoto steps into a production team that clearly knows the material — so the continuity risk feels manageable.

New Faces Joining the Imperial Army

Two new cast members were confirmed at AnimeJapan 2026. Tomokazu Sugita — a household name for SG anime fans across franchises from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure to Genshin Impact — joins as a character named Mikel. Yoko Hikasa, best known here for Lycoris Recoil and Attack on Titan, voices Liliya. Character details for both remain under wraps for now.

The core cast is intact. Aoi Yuki reprises Tanya, Saori Hayami returns as the devoted Viktoriya Ivanovna Serebryakov, and Shinichiro Miki, Tessho Kenda, and Hochu Otsuka are back in their key Imperial command roles.

Where and When to Watch in Singapore

Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 premieres on 8 July 2026 on Tokyo MX and affiliated Japanese broadcast networks. Crunchyroll has confirmed the simulcast as part of its summer 2026 lineup for its global territories, Singapore included. Episode times will be announced closer to the premiere. An English dub has not been officially confirmed, though given the popularity of the Season 1 dub on Crunchyroll, it would be surprising if one weren’t in the works.

If you want to revisit the series first, Season 1 and the 2019 film are currently streaming on Crunchyroll. Check out our anime coverage for more on what’s streaming this summer.

Last words

For Singapore fans who fell for Tanya’s ice-cold strategic mind back in 2017, the wait is almost over. Eight July is not far away, and with Studio NUT and the full core cast returning, the foundations are solid. We’ll be watching — and reporting back on how the season unfolds.

Bleach: TYBW Final Season The Calamity Streams on Disney+ This July

The wait is almost over. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity, the fourth and final cour of the acclaimed anime adaptation, premieres in July 2026 on TV Tokyo and streams on Disney+ internationally — putting Singapore fans right in the front row for the definitive battle between Ichigo Kurosaki and Yhwach.

What is Bleach: TYBW – The Calamity?

The Calamity covers the most devastating chapter in the Quincy war saga. With the Royal Guard and the Soul Society left shattered after Part 3’s relentless onslaught, Yhwach and the surviving Sternritter march on the Soul King Palace for a final, universe-altering assault. Ichigo’s own Quincy heritage becomes a critical story point as the conflict reaches its violent and deeply emotional peak.

Series creator Tite Kubo personally suggested the tagline for this final arc: “To those once called calamities” — a line that hints at the redemptive undertones woven through the climax, as former enemies and long-forgotten warriors make their last stands.

More Original Content — A Promise From Kubo

Kubo has confirmed that The Calamity will contain even more anime-original scenes than the already-ambitious Parts 1, 2, and 3. Studio Pierrot Films is back with chief director Tomohisa Taguchi and director Hikaru Murata at the helm — the same duo responsible for Part 3’s Royal Guard battles, widely praised as a visual high-water mark for modern shonen animation. Expect expanded character moments, new confrontations, and a send-off that goes well beyond what the manga’s rushed final chapters could deliver.

Early Screenings Before the Broadcast Premiere

Before the TV broadcast kicks off, fans in Japan can catch the first three episodes at a special early screening on 21 June 2026. US cinemas will follow with theatrical showings from 25 to 29 June, featuring both subtitled and English-dubbed formats alongside exclusive behind-the-scenes content with Kubo, Taguchi, and Murata.

A specific premiere date within July has not yet been officially announced. With the theatrical window closing in late June, an early-to-mid July broadcast debut is the most likely outcome. We’ll update this post the moment a date is confirmed.

Where to Watch Bleach: TYBW in Singapore

All three previous cours of Bleach: TYBW have streamed on Disney+ internationally, and The Calamity is expected to follow the same arrangement. Singapore subscribers can dive into Parts 1–3 right now to get caught up, and the final season should land on the platform in step with the Japanese broadcast. Keep an eye on the Manga & Anime section on GameTrader for the premiere date the moment it drops.

Bleach has been part of Singapore’s anime scene for over two decades — from the old StarHub cable era to cosplay lineups at Anime Festival Asia and late-night Discord watch parties. The Calamity is the ending the fanbase has been waiting for: Ichigo versus Yhwach at full power, expanded by Kubo himself with new scenes the manga never had. Clear your July calendar, fire up Disney+, and prepare for the final Getsuga.

Creators Super Fest Singapore 2026 Returns to Suntec

Mark your calendars, Singapore: Creators Super Fest Singapore 2026 (#CSF26) is back, and organiser SOZO is promising a bigger, bolder celebration of art, cosplay, music and creativity. The festival lands at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre on 11 and 12 July 2026, taking over three halls for a weekend built entirely around creators and the communities that love them.

Here’s a taste of the energy from last year’s edition, straight from the official AFA channel:

AFA Creators Super Fest Singapore 2025 Day 2 Highlights — via AFA – Anime Festival Asia on YouTube

What is Creators Super Fest Singapore 2026?

Born out of Anime Festival Asia’s Creators Hub, Creators Super Fest has grown into Southeast Asia’s own creative playground — a place where independent artists, cosplayers, musicians and crafters get a real stage. This year’s layout has been refreshed across three halls, with the main stage and key zones repositioned to make the experience smoother for everyone (full floor plan to come closer to the date).

SOZO founder and festival director Shawn Chin frames the mission simply, calling creators “the lifeblood of every creative ecosystem” in the festival’s media release. The Singapore Tourism Board is on board too: Guo Teyi, Director of Leisure Events, pointed to “Singapore’s growing role as a regional hub for creative communities” as exactly why events like this matter on the local calendar.

Four creative zones to explore

CSF26 is organised around four key zones, each with its own flavour:

  • Creators Hub — the beating heart of the festival, where illustrators, designers and indie brands sell exclusive art and one-of-a-kind merch, and fans get to meet the makers face to face.
  • Cosplay Hub — a dedicated showcase where star cosplayers take the spotlight. Meet your favourite talents up close, grab their merch, and soak up the community vibe.
  • Creators Lab — an expanded line-up of workshops, panels and interactive sessions aimed at aspiring artists and creative entrepreneurs. SOZO is still accepting speakers, so this is your shot if you’ve got skills to share.
  • Super Akiba Stage — live music, talk shows and live-drawing sessions running throughout the weekend.

Selection is subject to eligibility, application procedures and booth guidelines (other T&Cs apply), but it’s a rare, concrete route from a Suntec booth to a stage in Japan.

Adventures of Elliot Launches on Switch 2, PS5 and PC

Square Enix and Team Asano — the studio behind Octopath Traveler and the Bravely Default series — have launched their latest HD-2D title, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The PlayStation Singapore store lists the game as available from 17 June, with the global launch officially dated 18 June 2026 — making now the perfect time to jump in at S$79.90 on PS5 or Switch 2.

An Epic That Spans Millennia

The game unfolds on Philabieldia, an untamed continent where the last remnants of humanity huddle behind the walls of the Kingdom of Huther while beast tribes roam the wilds beyond. You play as Elliot, a young adventurer, alongside his fairy companion Faie. Their central tool is the Doorway of Time — a mysterious artefact that lets them travel across four distinct historical eras, each with its own visual flavour and a piece of the world’s forgotten history to uncover.

It is a premise that wears its JRPG heritage on its sleeve. Early critics have drawn comparisons to Chrono Trigger, The Legend of Zelda, the Mana series, and Ys — which makes sense given that the core development team at Team Asano brought a similarly eclectic mix of inspirations to Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default.

Real-Time Action Combat Built for All Players

Unlike the turn-based systems in previous Team Asano games, Adventures of Elliot goes fully real-time. Players can equip two weapons simultaneously from seven types — including swords, bows, boomerangs, and chains — and weave in shield mechanics and Faie’s fairy magic to shape a personalised combat style. A Magicite enhancement system adds further depth: collectible fragments slot into your gear to unlock additional effects, from currency boosts to extended boomerang throws.

For those wanting company, a second player can take control of Faie in local co-op, assisting with both battles and environmental puzzles. The exploration side of things leans heavily on shrine-based puzzle-solving in a way that fans of action-adventure games will find familiar.

Famitsu Awards It 34 Out of 40

Ahead of launch, Famitsu scored The Adventures of Elliot a strong 34 out of 40, according to TechTimes. That puts it firmly in the “recommended” tier for Japan’s leading games publication — on par with the solid scores earned by other Team Asano releases. The same early wave of coverage has described it as evoking the feeling of a spiritual successor to Chrono Trigger, which is about as high a bar as you can set in this genre.

The game carries an IARC 12+ rating (Moderate Violence, Mild Swearing) and supports 1–2 players with full Remote Play on PS5. Language options on PS5 include English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean.

Since its Switch debut in April, the game has built a dedicated following despite a mixed initial reception, and the mobile launch is set to open it up to a much wider audience.

Gameplay is structured around complex, strategy-driven 6-on-6 battles. A rental system lets you build competitive teams without grinding a mainline game, and ongoing updates are steadily adding more Pokémon to the roster.

Cross-Save and Cross-Play: Your Progress Moves With You

If you have been grinding on Switch or Switch 2, your progress is not left behind. Link your Nintendo Account and your save data transfers seamlessly to the mobile version — and cross-platform multiplayer means you can battle against Switch players from your phone and vice versa. One account, all platforms.

Free Raichu Launch Bonus — With Two Mega Evolutions

To mark the mobile launch, every player on any platform — Switch or mobile — can claim a Raichu, Raichunite X, and Raichunite Y from the in-game mailbox. The promotion runs from today (17 June) through 2 September 2026.

Both Mega forms bring distinct competitive value:

  • Mega Raichu X — gains the Electric Surge ability, setting Electric Terrain for five turns on entry. Grounded Pokémon see a 30% boost to Electric moves and are shielded from sleep.
  • Mega Raichu Y — gains No Guard, meaning all moves used by and against it land with 100% accuracy. Thunder and Thunder Wave become perfectly reliable in any weather.

New Regulation M-B Launches Simultaneously

The mobile release also brings in Regulation M-B, the first ruleset change since Pokémon Champions’ April launch. Both Switch and mobile players step into the new format at the same time, so the competitive field resets cleanly across all platforms.
