Jump Festa 2027 Set for 19–20 December at Makuhari Messe

Singapore anime fans, mark your calendars. Shueisha has officially confirmed that Jump Festa 2027 will be held on 19–20 December 2026 at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall in Chiba, Japan. Doors open at 9:00 AM and last entry is at 4:30 PM both days — and if the past couple of years are any guide, it is going to be one of the biggest weekends in manga and anime this year.

The announcement was published by Famitsu (Japanese) today and is the first official word from Shueisha on dates for the 2027 edition. A dedicated JF2027 page on the official Jump Festa website is expected to follow closer to the event.

What is Jump Festa?

Jump Festa is Shueisha’s annual mega-event, jointly hosted by five of Japan’s biggest manga magazines — Weekly Shonen Jump, Shonen Jump+, V Jump, Jump SQ., and Saikyō Jump. Every December it takes over Makuhari Messe — the same sprawling convention complex that hosts Tokyo Game Show — with franchise stage shows, world-premiere trailers, voice-actor appearances, exclusive merch, and enough announcement firepower to keep the anime internet buzzing for weeks.

JF2027 will occupy Halls 1–9 and Hall 11, keeping the expanded footprint that the event has used since 2026.

What to Expect in December

Shueisha hasn’t confirmed the franchise lineup for JF2027 yet — that information typically drops through individual Jump magazine announcements and the official JF website in the months leading up to the event. But based on what’s currently airing and in production, Singapore fans will almost certainly be watching for news on:

  • Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba — Infinity Castle Part 2, with the first film having already become a generational event for SG fans
  • Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, which has been teased in Jump magazines
  • Kagurabachi and Sakamoto Days, two of the hottest ongoing Shonen Jump manga currently in production as anime
  • One Piece — always a centrepiece of Jump Festa — now deep into the Elbaph arc
  • Haikyu!! theatrical releases

It’s worth noting that Jump Festa regularly springs genuine surprises. The Chainsaw Man: International Assassins Arc, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run anime premiere date and Black Clover Season 2 were all confirmed at Jump Festa 2026 — none of them were in the pre-event speculation lists. Expect at least one or two out-of-nowhere reveals this December.

What Jump Festa 2026 Delivered

Jump Festa 2026 (held December 20–21, 2025 at Makuhari Messe) set a high bar. Alongside the announcements above, Shueisha used the event to drop a first trailer for the fourth and final arc of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, confirm the Elbaph arc premiere date for One Piece, and reveal a Dan Da Dan Season 3 key visual. The main Jump Super Stage was livestreamed globally — Singapore fans watching from home at 9 AM were refreshing their feeds just as fast as fans queuing at Chiba.

Shueisha has confirmed all three stages — Jump Super Stage, Jump Studio, and Jump Station — will return for 2027, though a full schedule and performer lineup will only be revealed later in the year.

Planning Your December Trip from Singapore

December 19–20 sits right at the start of Singapore’s year-end school holidays, which makes it a realistic travel window for families and students alike. Makuhari Messe is in Chiba — roughly 30 minutes from central Tokyo on the JR Keiyo Line — so it pairs naturally with a wider Japan year-end trip.

Singapore Airlines, Scoot, and Jetstar all fly direct Singapore to Tokyo (Narita or Haneda). Narita is marginally closer to Makuhari Messe via the JR Sobu Line or Keisei Skyliner connection. Accommodation in the Makuhari area books out fast for Jump Festa weekend, so if you are seriously considering attending in person, now is not too early to start watching flight and hotel prices.

Chainsaw Man Assassins Arc: Staff Revealed, New Teaser, Mobile Game

Two of the darkest, most beloved anime franchises around just got major updates at the same time. During MAPPA’s 15th anniversary livestream on 19 June, the studio dropped a second teaser trailer for Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc — complete with its full production crew and a surprise mobile game announcement — and then, almost in passing, confirmed that Dorohedoro Season 3 is in active production with a teaser of its own.

Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc — The Team Behind the Blade

The Assassins Arc adapts the sixth arc of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Public Safety Saga, picking up after the events of the Reze Arc film. With Denji’s existence now known beyond Japan’s borders, a wave of international killers closes in — and MAPPA has now confirmed who is bringing that chaos to the screen:

  • Director: Tatsuya Yoshihara (who helmed Chainsaw Man: The Movie — Reze Arc)
  • Script: Hiroshi Seko (writer on Season 1 and the Reze film)
  • Character Designer: Kazutaka Sugiyama
  • Music Composer: Kensuke Ushio (whose Season 1 score became almost as iconic as the show itself)

The creative core that built the original season and carried it through to the Reze film is intact. One question MAPPA has still not answered: whether the Assassins Arc will arrive as a TV series or a theatrical film. The Reze Arc went to cinemas; whether this chapter follows that format or returns to episodic TV remains officially unconfirmed.

A Chainsaw Man Mobile Game Is Coming

Alongside the anime news, MAPPA revealed a Chainsaw Man smartphone game for iOS and Android. The opening animation for the game was created by the studio itself, and the opening theme — “All the Lynch!! All the Mince!!” — is composed by Ryo Kawakita of Maximum the Hormone, the veteran Japanese rock band who have been synonymous with Chainsaw Man from the very beginning. Gameplay details and a release window have not yet been announced.

Dorohedoro Season 3 — Officially Confirmed

MAPPA also used the anniversary livestream to formally confirm that Dorohedoro is returning for a third season. Director Yuichiro Hayashi — who shepherded the series through Seasons 1 and 2 and directed Attack on Titan: The Final Season — is continuing. A teaser video was shown during the event, giving fans a first glimpse of what’s ahead: Nikaidō’s awakening, the moment Cross-Eyes’ Boss removes his mask, and Saji’s transformation.

No release date has been announced. Dorohedoro is available in Singapore on Netflix, Crunchyroll, and other streaming platforms. With MAPPA’s schedule packed, the wait may be long — but the greenlight coming so quickly after Season 2’s finale is a very good sign.

The Rest of MAPPA’s 15th Anniversary Slate

The anniversary program covered more ground than just those two reveals. Ranma ½ Season 3 was confirmed for an October 2026 premiere on Netflix, with a new trailer and a talk segment featuring original voice cast members Kappei Yamaguchi and Noriko Hidaka. Jujutsu Kaisen held a special talk with the voice actors for Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu. And Oblivion Battery got a behind-the-scenes look at the animation process for its upcoming second season on Crunchyroll.

If you’ve been waiting for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 news, a Chainsaw Man update, or any hint of what’s next for Attack on Titan — set an alarm for Friday, 19 June. Studio MAPPA is hosting a landmark 15th anniversary presentation at 8pm JST / 7pm SGT, and almost every major franchise it handles is on the bill.

MAPPA at 15: A Studio Behind Half Your Favourite Anime

MAPPA was founded on 14 June 2011 and has since become one of the most prolific animation studios in the world — responsible for Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Dorohedoro, Ranma ½, Yuri on Ice, and more. To mark its 15th anniversary, the studio is hosting a special video presentation that it describes as more than a list of upcoming projects: each title will be introduced through “carefully crafted video segments” (per navigator Kenjiro Tsuda’s comments).

The event will also premiere an original anniversary film set to “Seikatsu” (Life), a song written for the occasion by Japanese band PEOPLE 1. Veteran voice actress Kotono Mitsuishi serves as narrator.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 — What Singapore Fans Need to Know

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 — covering the Culling Game Arc Part 2 — is confirmed in production, and MAPPA will share fresh details on 19 June. The event includes a dedicated “Juju Talk” segment featuring voice actors Junya Enoki (Yuji Itadori) and Megumi Ogata (Yuta Okkotsu).

Season 3 finished airing earlier this year, covering the Culling Game Arc Part 1, so Season 4 is the natural continuation of the story. The June 19 update is expected to include at minimum a new teaser and possibly a confirmed premiere window.

Chainsaw Man: International Assassins Arc and a Mystery New Project

The Chainsaw Man section of the event is arguably the most intriguing. Two announcements are confirmed:

Chainsaw Man Reze Arc Is on Crunchyroll: A Singapore Guide

Crunchyroll just wrapped a Chainsaw Man-fuelled weekend at Anime Festival Asia (AFA) Thailand 2026 in Bangkok — and while the booth action played out up north, the bigger news for Singapore anime fans is that the same titles driving all that hype are already a tap away. Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is streaming on Crunchyroll, and the road to AFA’s Singapore dates is already taking shape.

Chainsaw Man takes over AFA Thailand 2026

Held on 30–31 May 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Crunchyroll’s AFA Thailand booth leaned hard into Chainsaw Man. The centrepiece was a live appearance by Kikunosuke Toya, the Japanese voice actor behind Denji, who performed a live dubbing of the character on stage before a fan meet-and-greet. For Toya, who spent part of his childhood in Bangkok, the panel doubled as a homecoming.

Fans could also step into a The Crossroads Café-inspired photospace and meet a Pochita mascot making its Thailand debut — the kind of in-person activation that tends to land in Singapore not long after.

What Singapore fans can stream on Crunchyroll now

Here’s the part that matters most locally: Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc isn’t a Thailand-only treat. The film began its global Crunchyroll streaming run on 30 April 2026 — available worldwide except Japan and France, which includes Singapore — in both subtitled and dubbed versions (Crunchyroll, HardwareZone). After a 2025 theatrical run, the move to streaming means SG fans who missed it on the big screen can finally catch the Reze arc at home.

The Thailand booth ran an Ani-May stamp rally built around three of Crunchyroll’s biggest current titles — an Attack on Titan Doodle Wall, a BLUE LOCK Football Challenge, and a Solo Leveling Fitness Challenge. When does Singapore get its turn?

AFA’s Singapore calendar is already moving. The organiser has confirmed AFA Creators Super Fest 2026 for 11–12 July at Suntec Singapore (Halls 403–405), with the flagship Anime Festival Asia Singapore reported to return to Suntec in late November (dates to be confirmed).
