Spatial Anomalies and a Ten-Year Coma

ANOMALITH is set in an alternate version of Japan — timestamped simply as “19**” — where spatial distortions called Otherworlds have started tearing holes in reality across the country. You play as Reona Minazuki, an investigator who wakes from a decade-long coma inside one of these zones (known as the Sarcophagus) with a newly awakened ability to sense and move through these warped spaces.

The driving motivation is personal: Reona’s searching for a friend who went missing inside an Otherworld. The story is penned by Romeo Tanaka — best known internationally as the creator of Humanity Has Declined — lending the script a darkly absurdist flavour that fits the premise well.

The Elden Ring Composer Is Writing the Music

The headline name for many Singapore gamers will be Yuka Kitamura, the composer responsible for some of the most memorable boss themes in Elden Ring, Sekiro, Bloodborne and Dark Souls III. Her presence here signals genuine production ambition — not the kind of game you casually drop her on.

Rounding out the team: character designs are handled by MON (whose work appeared in NisiOisin’s Legends series), while development sits with Winning Entertainment Group, the studio formerly known as Natsume Atari.

Survival TPS in Liminal Spaces

Gameplay mixes third-person shooting and melee combat with survival-focused resource management. The visual setting leans into Showa-era retro aesthetics — think cramped corridors, flickering fluorescent lights and architecture that shouldn’t be able to exist — filtered through the uncanny geometry of liminal spaces. It’s a look that should appeal to anyone who bounced between Silent Hill and Signalis and wished there were more games living in that headspace.

The free Steam demo is available now and gives you a direct taste before committing. It’s the fastest way to find out whether ANOMALITH’s atmosphere clicks with you.

Release Date, Platforms and Price

ANOMALITH launches October 29, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam — all three platforms that see strong use in Singapore. Pricing on the international Steam store is USD 49.99 for the Standard Edition and USD 69.99 for Digital Deluxe; check your regional storefront for the SGD equivalent.

NIS America has also announced a physical Launch Edition for those who prefer a disc or cartridge — useful to know if you’re planning to grab it from a local game retailer or import. No confirmation on SG retail allocation yet, so check with your preferred games shop as the launch date approaches.

Evangelion Meets Japanese Tradition: Asuka and Rei as 日本人形

The most striking reveal from FuRyu at WonFes 2026 Summer is a collaboration between their F:NEX premium figure label and Yoshitoku, one of Japan’s oldest traditional doll workshops. The result: Shikinami Asuka Langley and Rei Ayanami from Evangelion, reimagined as authentic 1/4 scale 日本人形 (nihon ningyo) — traditional Japanese dolls — rendered with the layered kimono styling, formal headpieces, and meticulous finish that Yoshitoku is known for. Both figures are marked “coming soon” with no release date or price confirmed at the show; the F:NEX official site will carry pre-order details when they are ready. ©カラー

The pairing is deliberate: Asuka’s fiery red and Rei’s cool blue translate naturally into traditional nihon ningyo colour palettes. This is the kind of piece that sits at the intersection of figure collecting and craft, and collaborations between Yoshitoku and anime licensors tend to move fast once ordering opens.

FuRyu also revealed a new entry in their TENITOL figure line: Reisalin Stout (Ryza) from the Atelier Ryza series. The figure places her in her signature white and teal outfit, seated on a stack of oversized books in an atelier setting complete with candelabra and foliage in the background — the relaxed, scene-setting aesthetic that defines the TENITOL line. On the フリューくじ (FuRyu kuji) side, two new series were announced. 「ミクめぐりJKライフ～かわいいフード巡り～」 (Miku Meguri JK Life: Kawaii Food Tour) is a new Hatsune Miku lottery series priced at 850 yen per draw, targeting a November 2026 release. For Singapore Collectors

FuRyu products — including F:NEX figures and FuRyu kuji goods — are available in Singapore through hobby shops and importers that carry Japanese collectibles. The Evangelion and Atelier Ryza figures will open for international pre-orders via f-nex.com and partner retailers once release dates are set. For the kuji series, Southeast Asia availability typically follows the Japanese launch by a few months through dedicated lottery event operators.

EXSTETRA HD Remaster Launches on Steam July 30 — Japan’s Kiss-Powered JRPG Gets Its World Debut

FURYU Corporation’s cult PS Vita and 3DS JRPG EXSTETRA is finally making its way to PC after more than a decade as a Japan-only release. The EXSTETRA HD Remaster launches on Steam on July 30, 2026, bringing the romance-driven RPG to a worldwide audience for the very first time — with full English language support included at launch.

Originally released in Japan in 2013, EXSTETRA takes place in Amazia — a world born when Tokyo fuses with a parallel dimension. Players take on the role of Ryoma, a high school student who discovers he is the chosen Prisma: a being with the power to awaken warrior guardians known as Prisma Knights. What makes EXSTETRA stand apart from most JRPGs of its era is its central mechanic — Ryoma awakens each Knight’s power through a kiss, a device that drives both the story’s progression and its character relationships in ways that were fairly audacious for the genre in 2013.

Combat is turn-based, built around a four-character party system and the EXS energy mechanic, where managing your team’s EXS gauge is central to pulling off powerful abilities in battle. The system rewards tactical thinking about resource management alongside the usual JRPG decision-making around skill selection and target priority. Between fights, players navigate dungeons and the fused landscapes of Amazia, uncovering the story of how two worlds collided — and what it means for those caught between them.

Dungeon exploration in EXSTETRA HD Remaster — Dungeon crawling is a core part of EXSTETRA’s gameplay loop, with treasure and enemies around every corner.

The HD Remaster brings the experience to Steam with support for English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese — this is the first time the game has been officially available outside Japan in any language. FURYU is best known in Singapore for titles like Caligula Effect and Mary Skelter, so fans of the publisher’s niche-but-devoted style of JRPG storytelling will know what kind of ride to expect. The developer has also confirmed that console versions for PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 are in development, though no release windows for those platforms have been given yet.
