NARUTO Card Game Is Coming in 2027 — Bandai’s Newest TCG Revealed

Bandai Card Games has officially announced the NARUTO CARD GAME, a brand-new strategy-focused trading card game set in Masashi Kishimoto’s beloved ninja world — and it is coming to players worldwide in 2027.

NARUTO CARD GAME – Official Teaser Trailer — via IGN on YouTube

What Is the NARUTO CARD GAME?

Built by BANDAI CARD GAMES — the same brand behind the Dragon Ball Super Card Game and Digimon Card Game — the NARUTO CARD GAME is designed as a strategy-first competitive TCG. Full details on card mechanics, deck construction, and rarity tiers are held until 29 July 2026, the day before its first public playable event. What is confirmed is that this is a proper standalone TCG, not a collectible set, targeting the competitive card game audience.

NARUTO, the manga by Masashi Kishimoto, ran for 700 chapters and now sits at over 250 million copies in circulation worldwide. The franchise is one of the defining properties of Singapore’s ACG scene, and a dedicated competitive TCG has been a long time coming for fans here.

World Debut at Gen Con 2026

The game makes its global playable debut at Gen Con 2026 (30 July – 2 August, Indianapolis). Bandai is running free beginner Tutorial Sessions at the event, complete with demo decks. Attendees can also score the limited CP-001 Chakra Card promotional version, an exclusive backpack, a sticker, and a purchase ticket for the official playmat. Registration for tutorial slots opens on 21 June via the Gen Con website.

Kishimoto Sends a Message

Series creator Masashi Kishimoto offered a personal message alongside the reveal, as quoted in the official press release: “I’m glad to see the world of NARUTO grow larger once again. I truly hope these cards find their way to both your hands and your hearts.” A commemorative illustration accompanies the announcement.

What Singapore Players Should Watch For

Bandai Card Games products have a solid retail footprint in Singapore. The Digimon Card Game and Dragon Ball Super Card Game both support active local communities, with singles available at hobby stores across the island. It is reasonable to expect the NARUTO CARD GAME to follow a similar Southeast Asian distribution path — but no local retail or tournament roadmap has been announced yet.

Stay tuned via the official X account (@narutotcg_en) and the official website. The next major info drop is 29 July, when card designs, gameplay systems, and the full product roadmap will be revealed.

Last words

For Singapore’s ACG community, this is exactly the kind of announcement that gets card players talking. Naruto shaped a generation of anime fans here, and a properly competitive TCG treatment from Bandai — the house that made Digimon and Dragon Ball viable in local hobby stores — is worth getting genuinely excited about. Mark 29 July in your calendar for the full card reveal, and check out our other game news while you wait.

The Fake Alchemist Gets TV Anime — Passione Animates

Kadokawa has confirmed that The Fake Alchemist (Nisemono no Renkinjutsushi) is getting a full TV anime adaptation — and the announcement came with a teaser visual and a commemorative PV. The studio handling the project is Passione, and with over a million copies of the manga sold in Japan, this one has been a long time coming.

From Pixiv Gem to Million-Copy Sensation

The Fake Alchemist began as a self-published webcomic on Pixiv by storywriter Jirō Sugiura and illustrator Umemaru before being picked up for official serialisation on Kadokawa’s KadoComi and Nico Nico Seiga platforms in June 2023. In just three years the manga quietly crossed one million copies in Japan — a remarkable milestone for a series that started as a passion project.

The Fake Alchemist manga announcement artwork

The series is available in English via Yen Press, with five compiled volumes out now — so Singapore fans who want to read ahead of the anime already have a solid head start.

What Is The Fake Alchemist About?

The story is set in the city-state of Orichalconia, a world where alchemy and magic permeate everyday life. A reincarnated Paracelsus ekes out a quiet existence as an alchemist, carefully concealing abilities that far exceed those of everyone around him. His low-key arrangement unravels when he enters into a contract with a shaman slave-girl named Nora — the character at the centre of today’s teaser visual — and later encounters Coco, an elf who has lost all four limbs and five senses.

The premise leans into classic isekai conventions — a hidden overpowered protagonist, unlikely bonds, a richly imagined fantasy world — but the manga’s devoted following suggests Sugiura and Umemaru execute them with enough craft to stand apart from a crowded field.

The Studio: Passione

Production duties go to Passione, the studio known for its work on the Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU and SOTSU reimaginings. Cast, staff, and broadcast schedule details have not yet been announced — Kadokawa says further information will be shared at a later date.

When Can Singapore Fans Watch It?

No streaming partners have been confirmed yet, but given that Crunchyroll covered the announcement today, it remains a natural fit — though nothing is locked in. In the meantime, check out our Manga Anime section for more picks while you wait for a broadcast date.

Last words

A million-copy indie manga earning its anime adaptation with a proven studio attached — The Fake Alchemist is exactly the kind of grassroots-to-mainstream story we love to see. Singapore fans who have been sleeping on the manga now have a very good reason to start reading. We’ll bring you cast and air-date news the moment Kadokawa drops them.

R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos Is Out Now — The 16-Year Wait Is Over

R-Type fans, the wait is finally, genuinely over. R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos, the Unreal Engine 5 remake of both PSP strategy entries, launched today, 18 June 2026, in the West on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Published by NIS America, this is the first time either Tactics game has appeared on current-generation hardware — and critically, the first time R-Type Tactics II has ever been released in English.

R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos – Release Date Announcement Trailer — via NIS America on YouTube

Sixteen Years in the Making

R-Type Tactics II: Operation Bitter Chocolate originally launched on the PSP in Japan in 2009 but never made it West. Developer Irem shut down its consumer games division not long after, and the sequel quietly became one of strategy gaming’s most notable localisation gaps. Granzella — the studio formed by former Irem staff — brought the franchise back with this full remake collection, and NIS America stepped in as Western publisher to finally close the English gap seventeen years on.

Both games have been rebuilt from scratch in Unreal Engine 5, far removed from the original PSP releases. The collection adds a brand-new post-game storyline on top of the original campaigns, meaning there is fresh content even for players who imported the Japanese version earlier this year.

What Is in the Collection?

The two games in the set share the R-Type universe’s distinctive aesthetic — humanity’s Space Corps versus the biomechanical Bydo empire — but play out as turn-based tactical strategy rather than the shoot-’em-up series it spun off from. Each campaign offers hundreds of ship units to deploy, branching mission structures, and the ability to play as both the Space Corps and the Bydo across separate playthrough perspectives.

  • R-Type Tactics I — remake of the 2007 PSP original, now in English with UE5 visuals
  • R-Type Tactics II: Operation Bitter Chocolate — the 2009 sequel, in English for the first time anywhere
  • New post-game campaign — an entirely original storyline added for this Cosmos release

Platforms and Where to Get It in Singapore

The game is out today on all major platforms available in Singapore: PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). A Limited Edition physical bundle — including a 2-disc soundtrack, conceptual art cards, and two acrylic stands (Rwf-9A Arrow Head and Bwf-1Dα Bydo System Alpha) — is priced at USD 79.99 via the NIS America Online Store. Standard digital pricing is available directly on each platform’s store. Note the Limited Edition for Xbox Series X|S is no longer offered; that version is digital-only.

Japan, Asia, and Korea players have been able to play since 12 March 2026 — so today’s Western launch fills in the last major release territory gap.

Last Words

R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos is a genuine occasion for strategy fans: a beautifully remastered pair of games that most Western players never got to experience properly, now on every current platform. For Singapore players with a PS5, Switch 2, or a capable PC, there is no excuse not to check it out — especially if you have ever bounced off the original shoot-’em-up series and wondered what the franchise looks like as a tactics game. It looks like this. Check out our Game News section for more launch coverage this week.

GTA V PS5 Upgrade Is Now Free — and The Kortz Center Heist Drops in July

If you own Grand Theft Auto V on PS4 or Xbox One, today is the day you’ve been waiting for. Rockstar has officially made the upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series version of GTA V free, effective June 18 — and to sweeten the deal, the studio has revealed its next major GTA Online update: The Kortz Center Heist, arriving in July.

The GTA V Next-Gen Upgrade Is Finally Free

Starting today, any player who owns a digital copy of Grand Theft Auto V on PlayStation 4 can upgrade to the PS5 version at no cost. The same goes for anyone on the digital Xbox One version — the Xbox Series X|S upgrade is yours for free. And if you’re on the PC Legacy version, you can move to the Enhanced edition without paying a cent either.

The next-gen versions aren’t just a resolution bump. They include Hao’s Special Works (HSW) vehicle upgrades and performance tuning, Career Progress rewards, ray-tracing options on PC, and full migration of your Story Mode and GTA Online progress from your old platform. Your characters, your money, your garage — all carry over.

The Kortz Center Heist: GTA Online’s Next Big Score

Alongside the upgrade news, Rockstar dropped the reveal of GTA Online’s next major update. As the studio announced on the Rockstar Newswire: “Prepare to raid the halls of Los Santos’ most prestigious art gallery in The Kortz Center Heist.”

The target is the Kortz Center — a landmark perched on the hills of Pacific Bluffs, famous across Los Santos for its internationally renowned collection of fine art. This is a multi-stage operation: before you can pull off the heist itself, you’ll need to add the Art Studio extension to your Mansion property, then scope out the complex, gather intelligence, and select your approach.

Crucially, The Kortz Center Heist is designed for solo players and full crews alike — so whether you’re running it with three friends or going in alone, the option is there.

The Fine Art Collector Programme

In the weeks running up to the update’s arrival, Rockstar is hosting a series of GTA Online events that offer bonus GTA$ rewards, major discounts on in-game properties and vehicles, and access to the new Fine Art Collector Programme — a way to earn rare and exclusive collectibles before the Kortz Center’s doors are even cracked open. It’s worth logging in now to bank those prep bonuses ahead of the July launch.

The update is expected to drop on July 14, 2026, as part of Title Update 1.73. It may also be one of the last major storyline-focused updates for GTA Online before the long-awaited GTA VI arrives.

Last Words

For Singapore GTA fans, the timing couldn’t be better. The free upgrade removes the last reason to stay on PS4 — if you haven’t made the jump to PS5 yet, now’s the time, and you bring your entire GTA Online account with you. And for those already on current-gen, The Kortz Center Heist gives the game a fresh reason to stay installed. Check out more game news on GameTrader.SG as the July update approaches.

Adventures of Elliot Launches on Switch 2, PS5 and PC

Square Enix and Team Asano — the studio behind Octopath Traveler and the Bravely Default series — have launched their latest HD-2D title, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The PlayStation Singapore store lists the game as available from 17 June, with the global launch officially dated 18 June 2026 — making now the perfect time to jump in at S$79.90 on PS5 or Switch 2.

An Epic That Spans Millennia

The game unfolds on Philabieldia, an untamed continent where the last remnants of humanity huddle behind the walls of the Kingdom of Huther while beast tribes roam the wilds beyond. You play as Elliot, a young adventurer, alongside his fairy companion Faie. Their central tool is the Doorway of Time — a mysterious artefact that lets them travel across four distinct historical eras, each with its own visual flavour and a piece of the world’s forgotten history to uncover.

It is a premise that wears its JRPG heritage on its sleeve. Early critics have drawn comparisons to Chrono Trigger, The Legend of Zelda, the Mana series, and Ys — which makes sense given that the core development team at Team Asano brought a similarly eclectic mix of inspirations to Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default.

Real-Time Action Combat Built for All Players

Unlike the turn-based systems in previous Team Asano games, Adventures of Elliot goes fully real-time. Players can equip two weapons simultaneously from seven types — including swords, bows, boomerangs, and chains — and weave in shield mechanics and Faie’s fairy magic to shape a personalised combat style. A Magicite enhancement system adds further depth: collectible fragments slot into your gear to unlock additional effects, from currency boosts to extended boomerang throws.

For those wanting company, a second player can take control of Faie in local co-op, assisting with both battles and environmental puzzles. The exploration side of things leans heavily on shrine-based puzzle-solving in a way that fans of action-adventure games will find familiar.

Famitsu Awards It 34 Out of 40

Ahead of launch, Famitsu scored The Adventures of Elliot a strong 34 out of 40, according to TechTimes. That puts it firmly in the “recommended” tier for Japan’s leading games publication — on par with the solid scores earned by other Team Asano releases. The same early wave of coverage has described it as evoking the feeling of a spiritual successor to Chrono Trigger, which is about as high a bar as you can set in this genre.

The game carries an IARC 12+ rating (Moderate Violence, Mild Swearing) and supports 1–2 players with full Remote Play on PS5. Language options on PS5 include English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean.

A 34/40 from Famitsu, comparisons to some of the most beloved JRPGs ever made, a free demo you can download right now, and S$79.90 on the Singapore PS Store today — The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is a hard one to overlook for Switch 2 or PS5 owners who have a soft spot for adventure RPGs. Whether you are a longtime fan of the Octopath or Bravely Default lineage, or just looking for a meaty new game to sink into this week, it is well worth at least trying that demo.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo: 68 Years Later Gets English Print in 2027

Jujutsu Kaisen may have wrapped its main run, but the universe is far from over. VIZ Media confirmed on 12 June 2026 that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo — Gege Akutami’s near-future sci-fi sequel — will receive its first English print edition in Spring 2027. The three-volume manga is already available to read in English right now on MANGA Plus and VIZ’s digital platform, but for local fans who prefer a book in hand, the physical volumes are on their way.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Vol. 3 Final Volume Special PV (produced by MAPPA) — via Jump Channel on YouTube (Japanese)

What Is Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo?

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo key visual showing Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu
Image courtesy of Shueisha / Gege Akutami / Yuji Iwasaki

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo (published in Japan as Jujutsu Kaisen ≡) is a direct sequel to the original manga, set in the year 2086 — 68 years after the Culling Game that defined the series’ final arc. Written by series creator Gege Akutami with artwork by Yuji Iwasaki, the story kicks off when an alien race known as the Simurians arrives on Earth in a spacecraft. Unlike most sci-fi aliens, the Simurians are capable of wielding Jujutsu Sorcery — and they’re not invaders. They’re looking for a new home.

The manga ran as a limited serialisation in Weekly Shonen Jump from September 2025 through early 2026, collected into three volumes. The final volume, Volume 3, was published in Japan on 1 May 2026.

Meet the New Okkotsu Siblings — and an Alien Diplomat

The three leads bring both a sense of legacy and something genuinely new to the JJK universe:

  • Tsurugi Okkotsu — grandson of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zen’in, the elder brother and a skilled jujutsu sorcerer
  • Yuka Okkotsu — Tsurugi’s younger sister, equally capable, and described as having an overpowered cursed technique of her own
  • Marulu Val Vol Yelvori (Maru) — the Simurian diplomat assigned to partner with the Okkotsu siblings; sent to demonstrate that his people can coexist with humanity

Fans of the original series will immediately recognise the weight of those surnames. Yuta Okkotsu was one of the most powerful sorcerers in the main run, and seeing his grandchildren carry that legacy into a sci-fi setting is a compelling hook even before you get into the actual story.

The MAPPA-Produced PV — a Taste of a Potential Anime

MAPPA-produced still from the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo special PV

To commemorate the final volume’s release, Studio MAPPA — the team behind the JJK TV anime — produced a special animated PV for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo (Japanese). The clip surpassed three million views within 12 hours of going live on the official Jump Channel, with many viewers noting it looked indistinguishable from an actual anime episode. No full adaptation has been announced yet, but the PV’s existence — and the audience response to it — makes one seem increasingly likely. Watch this space, especially with MAPPA’s 15th Anniversary event coming up on 19 June.

Three Volumes, All Out Now — English Print in Spring 2027

All three volumes of the manga are complete and readable in English right now via MANGA Plus by Shueisha (free, with ads) and the VIZ Media app. If you want to catch up before the physical editions arrive, there’s nothing stopping you.

VIZ Media’s Spring 2027 slate announcement also included the Slam Dunk Deluxe Edition and the first English release of Detective Conan in omnibus format — a strong season for manga fans overall.

Last words

JJK’s universe just got bigger — and stranger. If you’re a fan of the original series who hasn’t dipped into Modulo yet, this is a good moment to start: all chapters are free online, the physical English volumes are confirmed, and a MAPPA anime adaptation feels like a matter of when rather than if. Singapore fans can expect to find the print editions at Kinokuniya and other bookstores once they ship in Spring 2027. For more manga and anime news, browse our Manga Anime section.

What Is in the Devil Hunter Edition?

The Devil Hunter Edition bundles the complete DMC5 campaign with every major DLC, including the fan-favourite Vergil as a playable character. Netflix’s Devil May Cry Anime Enters Its Final Arc

On the animation side, Netflix confirmed the Devil May Cry animated series — available on Netflix Singapore right now — will return for a third and final season. Showrunner Adi Shankar outlined the grand design in a statement to Variety: “This was always Dante’s ‘Divine Comedy’ with guns and a red coat. Season 1 was ‘Inferno.’ Season 2 was ‘Purgatorio.’ Season 3 will be ‘Paradiso.'” All three chapters together form what Shankar calls The Force Edge Saga, conceived from the start as “a movie trilogy disguised as a television series.”

Season 2 debuted on 12 May 2026 and racked up 6.4 million views in its first two weeks, keeping the show on Netflix’s Global Top 10. Season 1 has accumulated 21.7 million views to date. No premiere date for Season 3 has been confirmed yet.

Singapore Switch 2 owners have a clean opportunity on 23 June: DMC5 Devil Hunter Edition is one of the most technically polished action games of the past decade, and the early-adopter window makes it an easy recommendation. Meanwhile, if you have not started the Netflix series, Seasons 1 and 2 are on Netflix Singapore now — ideal prep for the Paradiso finale whenever it arrives. Witch Hat Atelier: Season 1 Finale Drops 22 June on Netflix Singapore

Witch Hat Atelier is heading into its season finale. This week the production released Story Visual Vol.5 alongside a web commercial containing preview footage from the climactic second exam arc — the final push for Coco and her fellow apprentice witches. The season finale, Episode 13, airs on 22 June 2026, and Singapore viewers can catch it on Netflix.

Witch Hat Atelier | Official Trailer 2 — via Crunchyroll on YouTube

What Is Witch Hat Atelier?

Kamome Shirahama’s manga has been running in Kodansha’s Monthly Morning Two since 2016 — 15 volumes in and over seven million copies in circulation. It follows Coco, a girl who discovers that magic, which the world treats as a gift only the chosen are born with, can actually be taught. The catch: that knowledge is forbidden. The Knights Moralis, a magical order that enforces a strict division between permitted and forbidden spells, polices the world’s understanding of the craft, and Coco’s discovery puts her on a collision course with that system.

The anime adaptation is produced by BUG FILMS, directed by Ayumu Watanabe, and scored by Yuka Kitamura — the composer behind Elden Ring, Dark Souls III, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. If you have played any of those games, you already know the mood she is capable of building. The season opened with a double-episode premiere on 6 April 2026 and has been airing weekly since.

The Second Exam Arc and This Week’s Finale Preview

Episodes 11 to 13 cover the second exam arc. Story Visual Vol.5, dropped alongside the preview footage this week, depicts scenes from that arc — high stakes, strained alliances, and the question of what these apprentices are really willing to risk in a world that has decided certain magic must remain hidden. The preview commercial teases that the finale does not hold back.

Witch Hat Atelier Story Visual Vol.5 -- second exam arc

Episode 13 carries the title Forbidden Magic — an apt name for a series whose central argument has always been that the line between permitted and forbidden was drawn by people with something to protect, not by any natural law.

When and Where to Watch in Singapore

Episode 13 premieres on 22 June 2026 at 11 PM JST. Singapore viewers can watch on Netflix. The series also streams on Crunchyroll for viewers outside Asia, and on ABEMA in Japan.

Episode 12 aired this past week, which means there is just enough time to start — or catch up on — Season 1 before the finale arrives next Sunday. The opening theme is Kaze no Anthem by Eve feat. suis from Yorushika, and the ending theme is Tada Utsukushii Noroi by Nakamura Hak.

Last words

A Season 2 has not been confirmed yet, so this finale carries genuine weight — it may be the last chapter of the story we get animated for some time. For Singapore fans who love beautifully drawn, thoughtfully written fantasy, Witch Hat Atelier has been one of the best anime this spring. Do not let Episode 13 go unwatched. Set your Netflix reminder now.
