MAPPA’s Ranma ½ revival has a date locked in: 3 October 2026. The third season hits NTV in Japan every Saturday at 24:55 — and streams exclusively on Netflix globally from the same night, putting Singapore fans right at the front of the queue alongside Japanese viewers.

Official Japanese media confirmed the premiere date and a wave of new casting on 25 July 2026 via Denfaminicogamer (Japanese) and PASH! Plus (Japanese). As we covered when Season 3’s second trailer dropped in June, the show was still listing only “October 2026” — now there’s a concrete date and a lineup of new faces to go with it.

Five Legendary Voice Actors Join Ranma ½ Season 3

The returning core cast — Kappei Yamaguchi as Ranma, Megumi Hayashibara as female Ranma, and Noriko Hidaka as Akane — is joined by five new voice actors stepping into Season 3 roles:

  • Masako Nozawa voices the Iemoto (家元), a formidable grand-master figure. Nozawa has voiced Son Goku in Dragon Ball since 1986 — a career-spanning role recognised across generations of anime fans worldwide.
  • Jun Fukuyama plays Daitokuji Sentarō (大文字煎太郎), a recurring martial-arts teacher from Rumiko Takahashi’s original manga. Fukuyama is best known to Singapore fans as Lelouch Lamperouge in Code Geass.
  • Mayumi Tanaka joins in a role whose name has not yet been revealed. Tanaka has been the voice of Monkey D. Luffy in One Piece since 1999 and also voiced Krillin in Dragon Ball — making this a reunion of two golden-age shonen titans in one cast.
  • Saori Hayami also takes on a to-be-announced character. Singapore fans will know Hayami from My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU and One Piece.
  • Minami Tanaka voices Kurenai Tsubasa (紅つばさ), a new character arriving with Season 3.

Having Masako Nozawa and Mayumi Tanaka in the same cast — two voice actors whose careers stretch back to the same era as Ranma ½’s 1989 original run — is the kind of casting that feels written for longtime fans.

When Singapore Can Watch Ranma ½ Season 3

Netflix holds exclusive international streaming rights for the MAPPA revival. Season 3 follows the same delivery model as Seasons 1 and 2 — episodes arrive on Netflix globally right after the Japanese NTV broadcast. The Culling Game: What This Arc Is About

The Culling Game arc is what everything in Jujutsu Kaisen has been building toward. Following the chaos of the Shibuya Incident and the sealing of Satoru Gojo inside the Prison Realm, Kenjaku’s master plan snaps into focus: a death tournament — the Culling Game — forcing sorcerers and newly awakened Cursed Energy users to kill inside barrier-sealed colonies spread across Japan. Leave without enough points, and the barrier kills you. Stop fighting, and your rivals close the gap.

Yuji Itadori enters this arc as a wanted man with no mentor, no institutional backing, and a dwindling number of allies who are still willing to be seen with him. Joining him are characters introduced in Season 2 — Yuta Okkotsu and Choso — alongside several new faces who quickly become the season’s biggest draws.

What’s New on Singapore Netflix from 22 July

Singapore Netflix has carried The Culling Game Part 1 in its catalogue since the season was airing earlier this year — so if you started watching in Japanese with subtitles, you already had access. What changes on 22 July is the multilingual track rollout: Netflix Anime confirmed via their official account that the global expansion brings dubbed versions to all regions simultaneously. English dub, alongside a range of other language tracks, is now live.

For Singapore households where not everyone in the room reads subtitles fast enough, that is a meaningful upgrade. All 12 episodes are available in one batch — no week-by-week wait.

If you prefer Crunchyroll — which has carried Part 1 since JJK began its simulcast on 9 January 2026 — nothing changes there. Both platforms carry the season; Netflix just makes the dub easy to access for subscribers who have not crossed over.

New Characters to Watch

Season 3 introduces several Culling Game players who quickly overshadow the expectation that this is just a bracket tournament full of disposable antagonists. The four standouts:

  • Fumihiko Takaba — a comedian whose technique may be the single most absurd power in the franchise. His episode is the tonal wildcard of the season.

Season 4 — The Culling Game Part 2 — Is Confirmed for 2027

The Culling Game does not resolve in Part 1. Season 3 ends at a point that leaves the central rescue mission incomplete and the wider situation more fragile than when it began. Part 2 — effectively Season 4 — has been officially confirmed with a worldwide Crunchyroll release targeted for 2027. No specific date has been announced.

With Gege Akutami’s manga having concluded in September 2024, MAPPA is adapting a complete story with a definitive ending — no open threads, no indefinite hiatuses. Watching Part 1 now gives you a full picture of the pieces in play before the final run.

Studio MAPPA — the team behind Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Hell’s Paradise — has been confirmed to animate every single in-game cutscene in Persona 4 Revival, the full remake of the beloved 2008 JRPG. The announcement dropped at Anime Expo 2026 on 4 July, alongside a new Rise Kujikawa character trailer and a preview of MAPPA’s work in action. Persona 4 Revival launches on 18 February 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and SEGA Asia has confirmed Singapore pricing starting from S$84.90.

MAPPA Animates All Persona 4 Revival Cutscenes — a First for the Franchise

This is only the second time in MAPPA’s history that the studio has handled every in-game cutscene for a title — the first being Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road in 2025. For Persona, the collaboration goes further than anything before: MAPPA’s previous involvement was limited to the opening movie and select scenes in Persona 5 Royal. Here they own the full animated presentation. An animation director on the project studied all four mainline Persona titles before beginning work, and Anime Corner reports that the AX preview showed protagonist Yu Narukami in a confrontation with a Hablerie shadow as his Persona awakens for the first time — rendered in full MAPPA fidelity.

For Singapore fans who grew up on Persona 4 Golden, the implication is significant. The original game had gorgeous, limited anime sequences; the remake promises MAPPA quality across the board.

What’s New in Persona 4 Revival vs. the Original

Persona 4 Revival is a full modern reimagining of the original 2008 PS2 game, building on the foundation of Persona 4 Golden with upgraded graphics, UI, combat, and — most visibly — those new MAPPA cutscenes. The dual-track gameplay loop returns: investigate supernatural murders via the TV World’s Midnight Channel by day, and build Social Links with Inaba’s residents to power up your Investigation Team.

The Rise Kujikawa trailer confirmed the full English voice cast at AX: Nazeeh Tarsha as Yu Narukami, Paul Castro Jr. as Yosuke Hanamura, Anne Yatco as Chie Satonaka, Brianna Knickerbocker as Yukiko Amagi, and Abby Trott as Rise Kujikawa (voiced in Japanese by Rie Kugimiya). Pre-order bonuses include a music set drawing on tracks from Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Royal, available until 17 February 2027.

One thing to note: physical copies are PS5 only. Xbox Series X|S and PC players are digital only. The game supports 14 subtitle languages including Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Thai — a strong sign that ATLUS is treating the Asia market seriously this time around.

Studio MAPPA — the team behind Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man — is adapting Jimoto Saiko! (地元最高！), the viral web manga by artist Usagi, into an anime series streaming exclusively on Netflix worldwide. Singapore fans get global day-one access alongside every other country.

What is Jimoto Saiko! (地元最高！)?

Before the anime announcement turned heads, Jimoto Saiko! was already a quiet phenomenon in Japan. Creator Usagi launched the manga on X (then Twitter) in February 2021, drawing in readers with its sharp mix of cute character art and genuinely chaotic storytelling. Publisher Saizusha has since compiled it into eight collected volumes — the most recent arrived in August 2025.

The title roughly translates to “Our Hometown is the Best!” and the whole series lives in that tension. The story follows Chanel and her crew of girls who have never left their neighbourhood — a place where violence, poverty, shady operators, and petty crime are ordinary background noise. And yet, they love where they’re from. Netflix itself describes the series as a “slice-of-life comedy” with an “adorable art style” wrapped around “chaotic storytelling” — which is an accurate if underselling description of what makes this manga stick.

When you think of MAPPA, shojo romance probably isn’t the first thing that springs to mind — but the studio behind Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Dorohedoro just slipped a very different project onto its 2027 slate. At the MAPPA 15th Anniversary Lineup Announcement Event held on 19 June, the studio confirmed it is producing the TV anime adaptation of Fall in Love, You False Angels (恋せよまやかし天使ども / Koi Seyo Mayakashi Tenshi-domo) — the Kodansha Manga Award-winning shojo series by Coco Uzuki — along with a first teaser PV and visual.

What Is Fall in Love, You False Angels?

On the surface, Otogi Katsura is everything a high school student should be — graceful, beautiful, and admired without exception. Behind that polished image, however, she is calculating, ruthless, and brutally sharp-tongued. When she accidentally lets her real self slip in front of classmate Toki Ninomae — who looks just as picture-perfect as she does — he doesn’t recoil. Instead, he reveals his own hidden side and proposes they become “partners in crime.” The story of two beautiful liars who can finally drop their masks around each other begins.

The source manga has been running in Kodansha’s Monthly Dessert magazine since April 2023. Its momentum has been remarkable: over 2.25 million copies are in circulation in Japan, and it claimed the top prize in the shojo category at the 49th Kodansha Manga Award in 2025. An English edition is published by Kodansha USA, so Singapore fans who want to get ahead of the anime — strongly recommended — already have a way in.

The Creative Team Behind It

MAPPA has assembled a dedicated staff for the adaptation. Yasutomo Okamoto directs, with series composition by Yohei Yamazaki. Mariko Oka is on character design duty, and Takumi Hashimoto serves as art director. Aniplex is attached as distributor — the same setup that has powered many of MAPPA’s biggest recent hits — which bodes well for production resources and international reach.

What the Dorohedoro Season 3 Teaser Shows

True to the manga’s energy, the brief teaser wastes no time leaning into the strange and unsettling. Footage highlights include Nikaido awakening, the deeply disturbing moment of the Cross-Eyes Boss’s face peeling off, and the spectacularly grim sight of Saji becoming a pie — which will mean absolutely nothing to new viewers and everything to those who have read Q Hayashida’s source manga.

What the Culling Game Part 2 Teaser Shows

The teaser is short but loaded. It previews several of the arc’s most anticipated fights — Hakari versus Kashimo picks up steam, while Yuki Tsukumo and Choso are shown holding ground against Kenjaku. Maki Zenin, Yuji Itadori, and Megumi Fushiguro press deeper into the battle royale, and there is a brief but significant glimpse of Kenjaku meeting with figures tied to the United States government — a political thread that has been quietly building through the arc.

New Director at the Helm — Takeru Sato Steps Up

The biggest production news out of the announcement is the director change. Takeru Sato — who served as an assistant director on Season 3 and previously directed ZOMBIE LAND SAGA: Yumeginga Paradise — is taking over as director for Season 4. Shota Goshozono, who directed Season 2 and played a major creative role in Season 3, moves into a chief director role, staying close to the project.

Sato shared a statement at the event, as reported by Anime Corner: “I have been appointed as the director for the TV anime Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4, ‘Culling Game: Part 2.’ I will devote myself fully to bringing the series’ appeal to life in animation in the best possible way.”

Having Goshozono step back into a supervisory position is a smart move — it keeps creative continuity intact while bringing in fresh energy on the execution side.

No Release Date Yet — But It Is Confirmed In Production

MAPPA has not announced a release window for Season 4. Fan speculation based on the studio’s production patterns points toward 2027, but that is not official. Given that the teaser specifically says “Season 4 in active production” (鋭意制作中), it is firmly past the announcement-only stage.

The Culling Game Part 2 will need to pay off a huge amount of narrative and character investment — so it is no surprise MAPPA is being thorough rather than rushing to air.

During MAPPA’s 15th anniversary showcase, the studio confirmed it will handle the animated opening sequence for Attack on Titan 3. One catch: the opening will be delivered via a post-launch update rather than shipping on day one. Still, the creative continuity is significant — MAPPA helmed the anime’s beloved final arc, and bringing that visual identity into the game’s opening is a meaningful touch for fans.
