Halo Comes to PS5: Singapore Pricing and What’s New in Campaign Evolved

For the first time in gaming history, a Halo game is landing on a PlayStation console — and Singapore PS5 owners can pre-order it today. Halo: Campaign Evolved, developed by Halo Studios and published by Xbox Game Studios, launches on 28 July 2026 globally, with PlayStation Asia regions including Singapore going live on 29 July. The Standard Edition is priced at S$79.90 on the Singapore PlayStation Store, with a Premium Edition at S$109.90 that unlocks up to five days of early access — beginning 24 July in Singapore.

A Historic First: Halo Finally on PlayStation

Microsoft’s flagship shooter franchise has been a cornerstone of Xbox since the console’s debut in November 2001, when the original Halo: Combat Evolved shipped as a launch title. For over two decades, playing Halo meant owning an Xbox or a gaming PC. That exclusivity ends this July. Halo: Campaign Evolved is a ground-up remake of that original campaign — rebuilt with high-definition visuals, updated cinematics, and refined controls — and it is launching natively on PlayStation 5 at the same time as Xbox Series X|S and PC.

For Singapore PS5 owners who grew up hearing about Halo but never had a reason to pick up an Xbox, this is the definitive entry point into one of gaming’s most celebrated storylines.

What’s New Beyond the Original Campaign

Halo: Campaign Evolved is more than a visual upgrade. Halo Studios expanded the game to 13 total missions — the original 10, plus three new pre-campaign missions that follow Sergeant Avery Johnson in the lead-up to the ring’s discovery. These additions fill in story beats that fans have wanted for years.

The arsenal is expanded too: nine weapons from across the broader Halo series are now available, including the Energy Sword, Battle Rifle, and Needle Rifle. Vehicle hijacking — a fan-favourite mechanic from later games — is implemented throughout. Dozens of Skulls return to toggle gameplay modifiers. Cinematics have been rebuilt with full motion capture and returning voice actors, and Martin O’Donnell’s iconic soundtrack has been remastered with rebuilt sound design.

Co-op, Crossplay, and Game Pass

The game supports two-player split-screen co-op on consoles and up to four-player online co-op across all platforms. Full crossplay and shared progression mean a Singapore PS5 player can team up with friends on Xbox Series X|S or PC without any barriers. Progress carries over if you ever switch platforms.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers get Halo: Campaign Evolved on day one at no extra cost. The game is also coming to PC via Steam for those who prefer that platform.

Singapore Editions and Launch Dates

Two editions are available to pre-order on the Singapore PlayStation Store now:

  • Standard Edition — S$79.90: The full 13-mission campaign plus the Foundry Armory pre-order cosmetic pack.
  • Premium Edition — S$109.90: Everything in Standard, with up to five days early access (from 24 July in Singapore), the Alpha Halo Armory Pack, and a Digital Story & Art Collection with lore content.

For most Singapore players, the Standard Edition at S$79.90 is solid value for a campaign that comfortably clears ten hours. The Premium Edition is the pick if you want to play the moment early access opens on 24 July, or if the bonus cosmetics and lore collection appeal. The full standard launch for Singapore follows on 29 July.

Stay across all the biggest game releases hitting Singapore as July 2026 shapes up to be one of the strongest months on recent record.

Invincible VS Season 1 Is Live: Universa and The Immortal Enter the Fight

Invincible VS has hit its first major milestone: Season 1 launched today (30 June 2026) for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, adding two new playable fighters, a fresh game mode, and a clear roadmap through to December. If you’ve been on the fence about Quarter Up’s 3-on-3 superhero brawler since it launched in late April, the roster is growing fast.

Universa: The Boost Vampire

Universa is a technical fighter built around resource theft. Her signature mechanic drains Boost gauge from opponents and redirects it to fuel her own offence — the more you siphon, the stronger her moves hit. She rewards patience and positional play, punishing opponents who overextend while banking their energy for her own burst windows.

The standout is her “Entropy” super: as Skybound noted in an Xbox Wire announcement, “one of our team’s favourite moves is her ‘Entropy’ super, which allows her to absorb incoming projectiles” and convert them directly into Boost. Against zoning-heavy teams, that kind of reversal can swing a round completely.

The Immortal: A Striker Who Won’t Stay Down

The Immortal character in Invincible VS

The Immortal is a rushdown Striker designed to close distance fast and attack from multiple angles. What separates him mechanically is a once-per-match revival: when he’s KO’d for the first time, he comes back in a berserk state with boosted speed and enhanced combo potential. Manage that revival timing well and you essentially force your opponent to kill the same character twice.

Both characters are available now as part of the Season 1 DLC pack or via the Year 1 Pass, which covers all four DLC fighters releasing across 2026.

Endless Arcade Mode

Season 1 also introduces Endless Arcade, a new mode that gives you structured challenges outside of competitive matches. It’s a welcome addition for players who want to grind mechanics and improve without jumping straight into ranked queues — and for newcomers still getting comfortable with the 3-on-3 tag format before going online.

What’s Still Coming: Angstrom Levy and Beyond

Invincible VS Year 1 content roadmap

The Season 1 launch also locked in the rest of the Year 1 roadmap. Angstrom Levy — the dimension-hopping villain from Robert Kirkman’s comic — is confirmed as the third DLC character, arriving in Season 2 in October alongside a new game mode and cosmetics. Season 3 follows in December with a fourth fighter and a brand-new arena.

For Singapore’s fighting game crowd, the competitive calendar looks healthy. Quarter Up brought playable character demos to EVO Las Vegas 2026 over the weekend, and with more tournament appearances planned, the game’s esports ambitions appear genuine beyond just content drops.

How to Get It

Invincible VS is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, priced at USD $39.99 for the base game on Steam. Singapore players can pick it up from their regional PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, or Steam — check local storefronts for SGD pricing. Season 1 content is available separately or bundled in the Year 1 Pass. For more fighting game news, see our Game News archive.

GTA VI Singapore Pre-Orders: Price, Editions and Bonus

Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders are live in Singapore right now — and the confirmed SGD pricing lands in comfortable territory for most console gamers who’ve been counting down since Trailer 1. Whether you’re on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, here’s everything you need before November 19.

GTA VI Singapore Prices: Standard vs. Ultimate Edition

Rockstar confirmed two editions for Singapore, available now on the PlayStation Store Singapore and Microsoft Store:

  • Standard Edition — SGD 109: Base game, Vintage Vice City Pack, and one month of GTA+ (PS5 pre-order)
  • Ultimate Edition — SGD 136: Everything in Standard plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade — premium vehicles including the Grotti Cheetah and Squalo speedboat, exclusive shops, additional personalised weapon and vehicle skins, and extra apparel for both protagonists

The SGD 27 gap is narrower than many expected for a game at this price point. If you plan to spend significant time in GTA Online, the Ultimate Upgrade’s exclusive vehicles and shops have real long-term value. If you’re here primarily for the single-player campaign, Standard has you covered — and the Vintage Vice City Pack alone makes it feel like a generous launch bundle.

What’s in the Vintage Vice City Pack

Pre-order or buy GTA VI before November 20, 2026 and you unlock the Vintage Vice City Pack — a retro-themed collection that tips its hat to the original Vice City era:

  • ’55 Vapid Stanier — a wide, chrome-lined American classic that looks right at home cruising Ocean Beach at night
  • Shore Court Garage — personal vehicle storage near Ocean Beach, so you’ve got somewhere to park the Stanier
  • Exclusive outfits for Jason and Lucia — Jason in a vintage pastel linen suit; Lucia in a red sequin mini dress inspired by Vice City’s neon nightlife
  • Tropical palm tree weapon customisation — a Vice City-flavoured skin for your firearms, visible in-game on pistols and SMGs

Rockstar has not indicated the Pack will be sold separately after launch, so the November 20 deadline is the line to watch.

Release Date, Platforms and the PC Question

GTA VI launches November 19, 2026 globally on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. The game carries an M18 rating — extreme violence, nudity, strong language and discriminatory content — in keeping with the franchise’s track record.

There is no confirmed PC release date. Rockstar has said nothing publicly about a Windows version timeline. Based on the GTA V cycle — where the PC edition arrived nearly two years after consoles — Singapore PC gamers should plan for a long wait or pick up a console copy at launch.

Should You Pre-Order Now?

The Vintage Vice City Pack is the clearest reason to lock in before November 20 rather than waiting. If the ’55 Stanier and retro outfits appeal, the window is open right now and the SGD 109 Standard price is competitive by any regional measure.

PS5 pre-orders also include a free one-month GTA+ membership (auto-renews; claim through the GTA+ product page before March 31, 2027, and cancel before the billing date if you’d rather not continue). It’s a small extra for PS5 buyers that Xbox players won’t receive.

Virtua Fighter Crossroads: First New VF in 20 Years, Made by the Yakuza Team

Virtua Fighter is back. Twenty years after VF5 launched in arcades, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio — the team behind Like a Dragon — has announced Virtua Fighter Crossroads, a new mainline entry for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, set for 2027. This is the first genuinely new mainline Virtua Fighter since 2006, and it looks like no one has forgotten how to build a fighter.

VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS | Official Reveal Trailer — via VIRTUA FIGHTER on YouTube

What Is Virtua Fighter Crossroads?

Developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by SEGA, Crossroads was first revealed at Summer Game Fest 2026 and showcased further at EVO 2026 this week. It is a ground-up new entry — not a remaster, not a re-release — with a confirmed 2027 launch window on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.

The game merges traditional 3D Virtua Fighter combat with a full narrative adventure campaign built along the lines of RGG’s Like a Dragon titles. SEGA describes it as “a narrative adventure that transcends the boundaries of fighting games,” and from the content shown so far, that is not marketing hyperbole: Crossroads features chapters with completion tracking, side quests, multiple protagonists with interlocking stories, and a richly detailed open city to move through.

Meet Cielo — and the New and Returning Fighters

Cielo is the game’s new protagonist: a Paraguayan-American underground MMA fighter who calls the walled city of Villaspara home. He enters the Vila Fight Fest after refusing to throw a match, and his story spirals from there. His moveset is MMA/Balanced — a grounded, read-heavy style that fits squarely into VF’s design philosophy of clean, style-pure combat.

Alongside Cielo is Stella, an American kickboxer, among other new characters yet to be revealed. Returning veterans Akira Yuki, Pai Chan and Wolf Hawkfield confirm that the series’ iconic cast has not been replaced, only expanded. The creative team behind the narrative is formidable: scenario writing draws on Shinji Yamamoto (Persona 5 Royal), direction from Takeshi Furuta (Yakuza series) and world-building by screenwriter Brad Kane, who was lead writer on Ghost of Tsushima.

Villaspara Looks Like Somewhere You Know

Virtua Fighter Crossroads is set in Villaspara, a fictional walled city in Southeast Asia divided into a city centre, entertainment district and resort area. The environments shown so far — a sun-lit street market dense with local goods, a gritty underground fight corridor opening onto an arena — are assembled from the visual language of the region in a way that will feel immediately recognisable to players across Singapore and SEA.

This is not a generic pan-Asian backdrop. RGG Studio built Kamurocho over the course of two decades, and that same obsessive environmental detail is visible in every Crossroads screenshot. Villaspara is a city you want to walk through, which is exactly what the narrative mode asks you to do.

Story Mode, Side Quests and the Like a Dragon Blueprint

The story campaign is structured in chapters with completion percentages and branching side objectives — exactly the loop RGG has refined across every Like a Dragon entry. Chapter missions carry names like “Vila Fight Fest: Round One” and “Glad Tidings of Betrayal,” pointing toward an underground fighting circuit narrative with political undercurrents. Supporting characters have their own dedicated side quests tracked alongside the main story.

Crossroads also supports fully competitive online versus play for players who want to skip the story and go straight to ranked matches. Both modes appear to run off the same underlying fighting system, so every hour spent in the campaign builds the muscle memory that transfers to competitive play.

Platforms, Release Window and What Singapore Players Need to Know

Virtua Fighter Crossroads launches in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. No exact date has been announced, and no Nintendo Switch 2 version has been confirmed as of this writing.

Singapore players will access it through the PlayStation Store or Steam. No SGD pricing has been announced yet. Given RGG’s track record on Like a Dragon titles — which have consistently released simultaneously worldwide — a global day-one launch is the expected outcome, though SEGA has not confirmed regional release timing.

The franchise returning after two decades is significant in itself, but the choice of developer matters more: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio knows how to build a game that makes you care about the world and the people in it before the fights even begin. Keep an eye on the latest game news as we get closer to 2027 and SEGA reveals more of the roster and story.

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls — SGD Prices, Full Roster and EVO 2026

EVO 2026 is live in Las Vegas this weekend (June 26–28), and one of the most anticipated fighting games of the year has a spot at the Showcase Stage: MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, the 4v4 tag-team fighter from Arc System Works and PlayStation Studios. It drops on PS5 and PC on August 6, and PlayStation SEA has locked in official Singapore pricing.

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls | Announce Trailer — via Marvel Entertainment on YouTube

A 4v4 Marvel Fighter Built by the Guilty Gear Team

At the wheel is Arc System Works — the Yokohama studio behind Guilty Gear Strive, BlazBlue: Central Fiction and Dragon Ball FighterZ — which means Tōkon arrives with serious fighting-game DNA. Published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, it runs on Unreal Engine 5 and is built around the PS5’s DualSense controller, with haptic feedback and Tempest 3D audio woven into the experience.

The format is a distinctive 4v4 tag team system: you start with a primary fighter and one assist, then unlock the rest of your lineup mid-match by hitting conditions like damage thresholds. It layers a build-up strategy over the brawling that goes beyond a straight character swap.

Beyond the fights there is a full Episode Mode — roughly 10 hours of motion-comic storytelling illustrated by manga artists, with voice acting across 10 languages. It doubles as a crash course in Marvel lore for anyone not steeped in the comics.

17 Characters Confirmed Across Four Teams — Three Slots Still Open

The base roster lands at 20 fighters split across five teams. Four teams are now fully confirmed:

  • Amazing Guardians: Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, Peni Parker
  • Fighting Avengers: Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther (Shuri), Hulk
  • Knights of Doom: Doctor Doom, Magneto, Green Goblin, Carnage
  • Unbreakable X-Men: Storm, Wolverine, Magik, Danger

The fifth team has one confirmed member — Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes) — with three roster spots still open. All three are widely expected to be revealed at EVO 2026 this weekend before the August 6 launch.

What’s Happening at EVO 2026 This Weekend

Arc System Works is running a pre-release tournament at the EVO Showcase Stage in Las Vegas, giving players competitive hands-on time with the full build six weeks before launch. Saturday and Sunday will bring the main competitive brackets across the event’s full game lineup, so the next few days are worth watching even if you are following from Singapore. The official EVO Showcase page has the live stream details.

Singapore Price and Pre-Order Bonuses

PlayStation SEA has confirmed three editions for the August 6 launch:

  • Standard Edition: SGD 79.90
  • Digital Deluxe Edition: SGD 113.90 — includes the Year 1 pass (four additional characters and one stage) plus cosmetics
  • Ultimate Edition: SGD 139 — Deluxe content plus costumes for Storm, Captain America, Doctor Doom, Iron Man and Spider-Man, and character colour unlocks

Pre-orders are open now on the PlayStation Store and participating PC storefronts. Pre-ordering any edition gets you the Infinity Gauntlet lobby equipment, a Baby Groot lobby pet and the Cosmic Surfboard lobby ride. The game releases on August 6, 2026 (August 7 in Japan and Australia).

The Year 1 pass inside the Deluxe and Ultimate editions is worth flagging — four extra characters and a stage suggests Arc System Works has a substantial post-launch content plan lined up alongside whatever gets revealed at EVO this weekend. Full details at the PlayStation SEA blog.

Dead or Alive 6: Last Round Is Out Now — Free-to-Play, KOF Collab, New DOA Teased

Dead or Alive 6: Last Round is out now. Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo’s definitive edition of the 2019 fighter launched today — 25 June 2026 — on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, packing a 29-character roster, a simultaneous free-to-play tier, and a King of Fighters XIV crossover at launch. Buried in the announcement is also an official confirmation that a brand-new Dead or Alive title is in development — the first time the franchise has acknowledged a next entry in years.

DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round – Announcement Trailer — via KOEI TECMO AMERICA on YouTube

The Full DOA6 Package, Polished for Modern Hardware

Last Round brings together the base DOA6 roster of 24 fighters alongside five DLC characters — Nyotengu, Phase 4, Momiji, Rachel, and Tamaki — who were previously sold separately, making this the most complete version of the game available. A new Photo Mode lets players compose and capture scenes with precise character positioning and pose selection, and a new stage rounds out the additions.

The standard edition is priced at USD 39.99; check your regional PlayStation Store or Steam page for local pricing. This is a standalone release — not a free upgrade for existing DOA6 owners — so existing players will need to purchase it separately.

Free-to-Play Core Fighters: A Real Entry Point

Alongside the full release, Team Ninja has launched a free-to-play version called Core Fighters with four playable characters at no cost: Kasumi, NiCŌ, Marie Rose, and Honoka. Core Fighters players get full access to DOA Quest, DOA Central, and online play — including cross-play against full-edition owners — with additional fighters available for purchase.

Dead or Alive 6 Last Round - character roster overview
Image courtesy of Koei Tecmo / Team Ninja

For Singapore’s fighting game community, this is a meaningful on-ramp. Southeast Asia’s FGC has historically had a strong 3D fighter presence alongside its deep 2D roots, and dropping players directly into online play on day one with a no-cost version makes Last Round one of the more accessible entries the series has had. If you’ve been curious about DOA but never committed, this is the version to try first.

KOF XIV Collab: Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond

Two King of Fighters XIV guest characters join the roster as paid DLC at launch: Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond, each arriving with five new costume outfits. The collaboration also introduces the new Lost Paradise “Oboro” stage — a reworked version of an existing DOA stage designed to complement the KOF aesthetic.

One important note: the character licences do not carry over from the original DOA6. Players who previously purchased Mai or Kula as DLC will need to repurchase them for Last Round.

A New Dead or Alive Is Coming

The headline that is easy to overlook in the launch noise: as part of the franchise’s 30th anniversary, Team Ninja has officially confirmed that “the latest Dead or Alive title” is in development. No platforms, no release window, and no title have been announced yet — this is a signal, not a reveal. Further announcements are described as forthcoming.

For fans who have been waiting since the series went quiet after DOA6’s 2019 launch, that is genuinely significant news. Last Round is a solid way to get back into the game in the meantime — particularly for anyone who missed the DLC characters first time around, or who wants the full 29-fighter roster without hunting through years of paid add-ons.

Arcade Archives 2 TEKKEN Launches Tomorrow — The 1994 Arcade Original Comes to Switch 2, PS5 and Xbox Series

Hamster Corporation is kicking off its new Arcade Archives 2 sub-series with one of fighting game history’s most significant titles: the original 1994 Namco Tekken. The arcade ROM drops tomorrow, 25 June, on Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at ¥1,800 — roughly SGD $17–18.

The Arcade Original, Properly Preserved

Before the PlayStation home port, before the franchise sold tens of millions of copies worldwide, Tekken was a Namco System 11 arcade cabinet. Eight fighters, digitised backgrounds, and juggle physics that shaped an entire generation of FGC muscle memory. Hamster’s release preserves that ROM without modification — no balance patches, no additional characters, nothing that wasn’t in the original cabinet.

Arcade Archives 2 TEKKEN gameplay screenshot — Image courtesy of Hamster Corporation

What separates this from a barebones ROM dump is the new Arcade Archives 2 platform Hamster has built around it. The updated framework — launching with this title — adds Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) output for tear-free playback on compatible displays, a dedicated Time Attack mode, a rewind function for frame-perfect practice sessions, and global online leaderboards. It is, to date, the most feature-complete official release the original arcade Tekken has ever received.

Why It Matters for the SG Fighting Game Scene

The original Tekken arrived in Southeast Asian arcades at a moment when 3D fighting was still a novelty. Singapore game centres ran it alongside Virtua Fighter 2, and the character archetypes and combo logic that veterans first learned on that hardware never fully left the series. The sidestepping system wouldn’t appear until Tekken 3, but the core damage economy and the juggle-into-wall-oki philosophy that defines modern Tekken competitive play were already visible in the 1994 build.

For anyone active in today’s local Tekken 8 scene, this is a genuinely useful historical reference — and at ~$17–18, a far more accessible one than sourcing original hardware. It also lands at a pointed moment: Tekken 8 just confirmed its Street Fighter 6 Chun-Li crossover DLC last month, meaning players can now run the series’ entire 32-year arc — from System 11 cabinet to rollback-netcode PlayStation 5 fighter — without leaving digital storefronts.

EMPULSE Launches in Early Access Today — 1047 Games’ No-Battle-Pass Movement Shooter

The team behind Splitgate is back. 1047 Games has just launched EMPULSE in Early Access — a 6v6 movement shooter built around wall-running, grapple hooks, and one genuinely refreshing promise: no battle pass, no paid cosmetics, no microtransactions at launch. It is out right now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

EMPULSE — 1047 Games early access movement shooter 2026

What Is EMPULSE?

EMPULSE is set in the post-utopian streets of the Freehold district, and puts two teams of six against each other with movement as the central mechanic. The game lets players wallrun forwards and backwards, swing across maps on grapple hooks, launch off Holojumps, and reshape the environment using P.A.I.N.T. Bombs — tactical paint that can create jump-boost pads, speed strips, explosive patches, or healing zones depending on the type you throw.

Controllable mechs also spawn on the map during matches. These come armed with chainguns, rockets, and shield abilities, and they can shift momentum dramatically if a team holds one long enough. Cross-platform multiplayer is supported at launch, so PS5 and PC players share the same pool.

The No-Monetisation Promise

1047 Games have been direct about one thing: “No store, no battle pass, no microtransactions at Early Access launch.” All cosmetics are earned through gameplay rather than purchased. The studio has also described a community-driven roadmap — meaning player feedback gathered through Discord and surveys shapes the development direction, rather than pre-set seasonal schedules locked in months ahead.

Note the qualifier: this is the policy at Early Access launch, not an indefinite pledge. But for a competitive multiplayer title releasing in mid-2026, starting clean stands out. Watch for updates as the game moves toward full launch.

How to Play From Singapore

EMPULSE is available globally starting today:

  • PS5 — PlayStation Store (search EMPULSE)
  • Xbox Series X|S — Microsoft Store
  • PCSteam

The Early Access price is USD 19.99. SGD pricing on the Singapore PlayStation Store and Steam SG storefront may differ — check your regional store at checkout. PC players who tried the free Steam Next Fest demo earlier this month will upgrade to the full game with their progress carried over.

About 1047 Games

1047 Games built Splitgate, the portal-based shooter that broke records during its viral summer in 2021. EMPULSE is their next game: same commitment to skill-expressive movement, different mechanics — portals are out, and vertical movement mastery is in. The studio has leaned heavily on community communication throughout development, positioning EMPULSE as a game they intend to build alongside its players during Early Access.

For more new game releases and PC and console gaming coverage, head to our Game News section.

Last Words

Singapore’s PC gaming scene loves a movement shooter, and EMPULSE is the freshest thing in that space right now. If Titanfall 2 left a gap in your rotation, this is worth trying today — USD 19.99, no subscriptions, no gotchas at launch.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Shows Off West City in Latest Trailer

Bandai Namco Entertainment dropped the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 “Welcome to West City” trailer on 23 June, and it is the clearest look yet at the first mainline Xenoverse in nearly a decade. New characters, a new setting, and two reworked combat systems — this is the update Dragon Ball fans have been waiting for.

DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 3 – Welcome to West City Trailer — via Bandai Namco Entertainment America on YouTube

Welcome to West City — Ten Years On in the Dragon Ball Timeline

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is set in AGE 1000, a full decade after the events of Xenoverse 2. The hub this time is West City — home of Capsule Corporation — and more specifically West City University, where players are recruited into the Great Saiya Squad by Bulma and Gamma 1.

Alongside those returning faces, four original characters are making their franchise debut: Brett, Lilica, ROM, and Tap. As ever, you create and customise your own protagonist, and these new characters slot into the wider story around your player character. Developer Dimps describes this as “a bold new chapter for the franchise” built on the world Akira Toriyama created.

Soul Assist and Soul Switch — The Two Systems That Could Define Xenoverse 3

The trailer puts heavy emphasis on two new gameplay pillars:

  • Soul Assist: Call in a Dragon Ball universe ally mid-battle to unleash a combined attack alongside your character. Think tag-team energy without handing over control.
  • Soul Switch: Temporarily channel the soul of an iconic Dragon Ball fighter — Krillin, Piccolo, Vegeta, Future Trunks, and Tien are confirmed so far — borrowing their signature moves and abilities for a limited window.

Both systems look designed to bring legendary roster members into your fight without replacing your custom character, which is a smart middle ground. Race choice also matters: Saiyans can still power up into Super Saiyan forms, while other races like Earthlings bring their own distinct playstyle. High-speed aerial combat and Ki attacks remain the bedrock of the action.

Platforms and What Singapore Players Need to Know

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is confirmed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. There is no Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 version announced at this stage. The release window is 2027 — no specific date or pricing has been confirmed yet.

Singapore players should have no trouble at launch: the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will be available through the standard regional PlayStation and Xbox digital stores, and the Steam release is global. If you missed the earlier Xenoverse entries, both are widely available and worth playing ahead of this one — check our game news coverage for more upcoming 2027 releases.

Last Words

Dragon Ball has consistently packed out booths at Anime Festival Asia Singapore every year, and the Xenoverse series has a loyal local following in both the fighting-game and JRPG communities here. Xenoverse 3 looks genuinely ambitious — the new Soul systems, a fresh timeline, and original characters suggest Dimps is not just iterating but expanding the formula. 2027 feels far away right now, but this trailer has done its job. Watch this space for release date and pricing news as it drops.
