In Falsus Launches 9 September on PC — From Arcaea’s lowiro

Singapore’s rhythm game community has been waiting for lowiro’s next move since Arcaea carved out its own lane in the genre. That wait ends this Tuesday — In Falsus, the studio’s first all-new original IP since Arcaea, launches on PC via Steam on 9 September 2026. It’s not just a rhythm game: it blends a visual novel story, a card deck-building loadout system, and a soundtrack stacked with names that Arcaea fans will recognise immediately.

In Falsus is set in a near-future world built on a stark premise: no lies are permitted. Emotions are made visible at the neck, and deception is physically impossible. Five high school girls — Nia, Mei, Ayame, Iris, and Story — find their lives upended when they are selected for the mysterious AARC government programme. The story unfolds from each protagonist’s perspective, told through fully voiced visual novel scenes with full Japanese voice acting.

This is lowiro’s first original game since Arcaea (2017), and the shift to PC and a premium release model marks a clear step up in scope.

Rhythm Gameplay on PC — Keyboard, Cards, and Four Difficulties

Unlike Arcaea’s mobile touchscreen formula, In Falsus is built for mouse and keyboard from the ground up. Notes cascade down split lanes tied to keyboard keys — A, S, D, F and Shift/Space for the outer columns — across four difficulty tiers, rising from 4-KEY beginner modes to demanding 6-KEY configurations. An aerial “Field” adds a sweeping layer of incoming notes above the main highway for an extra challenge.

Longer runs are further shaped by a card deck-building system: collect materials during play to craft cards, then arrange them into Blueprint grids before each encounter to set your stat boosts and bonuses. Characters each carry Spectral Skills and Character Skills that interact with your loadout, giving returning chart-clearers reason to experiment beyond raw score-chasing.

70+ Songs — Camellia, PSYQUI, and the Arcaea Circle

The soundtrack spans more than 70 songs, with over 40 original compositions commissioned for the game. Artists from the rhythm game underground are well represented: Camellia (whose “Cryogenic” featuring Petra Gurin appears in the demo), PSYQUI, aran, USAO, Nhato, and ak+q — many of them regulars in Arcaea’s catalogue — sit alongside newer names from the international chiptune and electronic scene. For listeners who have spent years farming Arcaea charts, the song list will feel like a reunion.
