Koei Tecmo and Omega Force’s Attack on Titan 3 launches on 1 July 2026 across PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam — and a fresh announcement from MAPPA’s 15th anniversary presentation on 19 June adds one more reason to be hyped: MAPPA, the studio that animated Attack on Titan: The Final Season, will produce the game’s opening animation.

During MAPPA’s 15th anniversary showcase, the studio confirmed it will handle the animated opening sequence for Attack on Titan 3. One catch: the opening will be delivered via a post-launch update rather than shipping on day one. Still, the creative continuity is significant — MAPPA helmed the anime’s beloved final arc, and bringing that visual identity into the game’s opening is a meaningful touch for fans.

The Full Story, Finally in One Game

Developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo, Attack on Titan 3 is the franchise’s first video game entry in roughly seven years. It sets out to cover Hajime Isayama’s complete story — from the fall of Wall Maria right through to the final battle — all inside a single title, something neither of the two previous Omega Force AOT games managed.

Chainsaw Man Assassins Arc: Staff Revealed, New Teaser, Mobile Game

Two of the darkest, most beloved anime franchises around just got major updates at the same time. During MAPPA’s 15th anniversary livestream on 19 June, the studio dropped a second teaser trailer for Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc — complete with its full production crew and a surprise mobile game announcement — and then, almost in passing, confirmed that Dorohedoro Season 3 is in active production with a teaser of its own.

Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc — The Team Behind the Blade

The Assassins Arc adapts the sixth arc of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Public Safety Saga, picking up after the events of the Reze Arc film. With Denji’s existence now known beyond Japan’s borders, a wave of international killers closes in — and MAPPA has now confirmed who is bringing that chaos to the screen:

  • Director: Tatsuya Yoshihara (who helmed Chainsaw Man: The Movie — Reze Arc)
  • Script: Hiroshi Seko (writer on Season 1 and the Reze film)
  • Character Designer: Kazutaka Sugiyama
  • Music Composer: Kensuke Ushio (whose Season 1 score became almost as iconic as the show itself)

The creative core that built the original season and carried it through to the Reze film is intact. One question MAPPA has still not answered: whether the Assassins Arc will arrive as a TV series or a theatrical film. The Reze Arc went to cinemas; whether this chapter follows that format or returns to episodic TV remains officially unconfirmed.

A Chainsaw Man Mobile Game Is Coming

Alongside the anime news, MAPPA revealed a Chainsaw Man smartphone game for iOS and Android. The opening animation for the game was created by the studio itself, and the opening theme — “All the Lynch!! All the Mince!!” — is composed by Ryo Kawakita of Maximum the Hormone, the veteran Japanese rock band who have been synonymous with Chainsaw Man from the very beginning. Gameplay details and a release window have not yet been announced.

Dorohedoro Season 3 — Officially Confirmed

MAPPA also used the anniversary livestream to formally confirm that Dorohedoro is returning for a third season. Director Yuichiro Hayashi — who shepherded the series through Seasons 1 and 2 and directed Attack on Titan: The Final Season — is continuing. A teaser video was shown during the event, giving fans a first glimpse of what’s ahead: Nikaidō’s awakening, the moment Cross-Eyes’ Boss removes his mask, and Saji’s transformation.

No release date has been announced. Dorohedoro is available in Singapore on Netflix, Crunchyroll, and other streaming platforms. With MAPPA’s schedule packed, the wait may be long — but the greenlight coming so quickly after Season 2’s finale is a very good sign.

The Rest of MAPPA’s 15th Anniversary Slate

The anniversary program covered more ground than just those two reveals. Ranma ½ Season 3 was confirmed for an October 2026 premiere on Netflix, with a new trailer and a talk segment featuring original voice cast members Kappei Yamaguchi and Noriko Hidaka. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo: 68 Years Later Gets English Print in 2027

Jujutsu Kaisen may have wrapped its main run, but the universe is far from over. VIZ Media confirmed on 12 June 2026 that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo — Gege Akutami’s near-future sci-fi sequel — will receive its first English print edition in Spring 2027. The three-volume manga is already available to read in English right now on MANGA Plus and VIZ’s digital platform, but for local fans who prefer a book in hand, the physical volumes are on their way.

What Is Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo?

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo (published in Japan as Jujutsu Kaisen ≡) is a direct sequel to the original manga, set in the year 2086 — 68 years after the Culling Game that defined the series’ final arc. Written by series creator Gege Akutami with artwork by Yuji Iwasaki, the story kicks off when an alien race known as the Simurians arrives on Earth in a spacecraft. Unlike most sci-fi aliens, the Simurians are capable of wielding Jujutsu Sorcery — and they’re not invaders. They’re looking for a new home.

The manga ran as a limited serialisation in Weekly Shonen Jump from September 2025 through early 2026, collected into three volumes. The final volume, Volume 3, was published in Japan on 1 May 2026.

Meet the New Okkotsu Siblings — and an Alien Diplomat

The three leads bring both a sense of legacy and something genuinely new to the JJK universe:

  • Tsurugi Okkotsu — grandson of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zen’in, the elder brother and a skilled jujutsu sorcerer
  • Yuka Okkotsu — Tsurugi’s younger sister, equally capable, and described as having an overpowered cursed technique of her own
  • Marulu Val Vol Yelvori (Maru) — the Simurian diplomat assigned to partner with the Okkotsu siblings; sent to demonstrate that his people can coexist with humanity

Fans of the original series will immediately recognise the weight of those surnames. Yuta Okkotsu was one of the most powerful sorcerers in the main run, and seeing his grandchildren carry that legacy into a sci-fi setting is a compelling hook even before you get into the actual story.

The MAPPA-Produced PV — a Taste of a Potential Anime

To commemorate the final volume’s release, Studio MAPPA — the team behind the JJK TV anime — produced a special animated PV for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo (Japanese). The clip surpassed three million views within 12 hours of going live on the official Jump Channel, with many viewers noting it looked indistinguishable from an actual anime episode. No full adaptation has been announced yet, but the PV’s existence — and the audience response to it — makes one seem increasingly likely. If you’ve been waiting for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 news, a Chainsaw Man update, or any hint of what’s next for Attack on Titan — set an alarm for Friday, 19 June. Studio MAPPA is hosting a landmark 15th anniversary presentation at 8pm JST / 7pm SGT, and almost every major franchise it handles is on the bill.

MAPPA at 15: A Studio Behind Half Your Favourite Anime

MAPPA was founded on 14 June 2011 and has since become one of the most prolific animation studios in the world — responsible for Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Dorohedoro, Ranma ½, Yuri on Ice, and more. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 — What Singapore Fans Need to Know

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 — covering the Culling Game Arc Part 2 — is confirmed in production, and MAPPA will share fresh details on 19 June. The event includes a dedicated “Juju Talk” segment featuring voice actors Junya Enoki (Yuji Itadori) and Megumi Ogata (Yuta Okkotsu).
