Attack on Titan Day Is Official: Free Manga on 9 September

Attack on Titan fans have a date to mark in red. Japan’s Anniversary Association (日本記念日協会) has officially designated 9 September as “Attack on Titan Day” (進撃の巨人の日), announced by Kodansha on 2 September — honouring the date the manga first appeared in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine‘s inaugural issue back in 2009.

Why 9 September Is Attack on Titan Day

Hajime Isayama’s manga launched on 9 September 2009. The date carries extra symbolic weight inside the story itself — the series revolves around the Nine Titans, and Kodansha has leaned into that numerology for the anniversary’s official commemorative visual: all nine Titan forms are arranged around the “9.9” motif alongside the tagline “その日、物語は始まった” (“That day, the story began”).

The manga ran for 139 chapters before its April 2021 finale, and the franchise has kept expanding since — most recently with Attack on Titan 3 heading to platforms on 10 December. According to Kodansha’s press release (Japanese), the series has sold over 140 million copies worldwide — making it one of the best-selling manga in history.

Free Manga Reading: 99 Hours, 99 Chapters

The centrepiece event for Singapore fans is a campaign that needs no trip to Japan: starting at midnight JST on 9 September (1:00 AM SGT), Manga Pocket (MagaPocket) will make Attack on Titan chapters 1 through 99 free to read — no subscription required — for exactly 99 hours, until 2:59 AM JST on 13 September (3:59 AM SGT). The app is available internationally.

Those 99 chapters cover the story from the fall of Wall Maria all the way to the beginning of the War for Paradis arc — essentially everything up to where the manga’s most divisive and discussed stretch begins. A good weekend re-read, in other words.

Livestream and New Isayama Artwork

At 21:30 JST on 9 September (22:30 SGT), Kodansha will host a commemorative livestream featuring three of the anime’s lead voice actors: Yuki Kaji (Eren Yeager), Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa Ackerman), and Hiroshi Shimono (Connie Springer). Full broadcast details — platform and link — will be posted to the official Attack on Titan X account.

A special merchandise range also drops on 9 September at Magazine Shop, Kodansha’s first offline retail store in Japan. The goods include new commemorative art and, notably, previously unreleased artwork by Hajime Isayama depicting Eren, Levi, and Erwin in formal attire — a rarity given how rarely the creator has shared new character art post-series.

For Singapore Fans

The free MagaPocket campaign and the livestream are both accessible from Singapore. If you’re planning around the franchise’s remaining 2026 moments, the Attack on Titan: Symphony from Paradis concert comes to Singapore in November — the official day registration is a nice piece of franchise context ahead of that event.

Kodansha has confirmed further details will roll out through the official Attack on Titan TV anime site (Japanese) in the lead-up to 9 September. Check the manga and anime section for any updates closer to the date.

Attack on Titan 3 Sets 10 December Release — Pre-Orders Open

After more than a decade of anime, manga, and two earlier action games, Omega Force is wrapping up the series in style. Attack on Titan 3 — the concluding chapter of Koei Tecmo and Omega Force’s action-game trilogy — launches worldwide on 10 December 2026, hitting PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on the same day. Pre-orders are live now across all platforms.

The Full Attack on Titan Saga — Survey Corps to the Bitter End

Rather than picking up mid-story, Attack on Titan 3 covers the franchise’s complete narrative arc, from the Survey Corps’ earliest expeditions beyond the walls all the way through to the series’ dramatic conclusion. According to the official Steam listing, players take on the roles of Scout Regiment members and experience the full story through the lens of on-the-ground titan-fighting action.

Singapore fans who followed the Final Season on Disney+ will recognise the battles — and now get to live them firsthand, ODM gear in hand. The game supports Japanese voices with English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish text options.

Upgraded ODM Combat, Squad System, and Exterior Scouting

The omni-directional mobility gear returns with enhanced aerial mechanics — the kind of swooping, high-speed titan-slaying that made the earlier games click for fans of the anime. New to this entry is a proper squad assembly system: each Scout Regiment member brings distinct skills and signature abilities, letting you mix and match fan favourites and chain their moves during missions.

The biggest new system is Exterior Scouting: full expeditions into titan-held territory where you construct supply bases, manage ODM fuel and blade resources, and push the Survey Corps’ frontier outward. It adds a light base-management loop between the action sequences. A new Casual Mode also lowers the barrier to entry for players new to either the game series or the franchise itself.

MAPPA’s Opening Animation Is Coming — Just Not at Launch

Omega Force has confirmed that Attack on Titan 3 will feature an animated opening produced by MAPPA — the studio behind Attack on Titan: The Final Season — with direction by Arifumi Imai, who led animation on the Final Season. The catch: this opening will not be in the game at launch and will instead be added as a free post-launch update. Koei Tecmo has not confirmed a timeline for the update.

It’s an unusual move, but given the production pedigree it will be worth the wait. Think of it as a bonus for day-one buyers to look forward to.

Editions, Pre-Orders, and Bonuses

Three editions are available, with pre-orders live now on PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop, Xbox, and Steam:

  • Standard Edition — Digital and physical (PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series, PC)
  • Steelbook Launch Edition — Physical only, includes premium ICONART steelbook packaging
  • Digital Deluxe Edition — Adds a digital artbook, character customisation pack, equipment pack, starter items, and 72-hour early access (effectively 7 December)

All pre-orders include the “Wings of Freedom Earrings” in-game customisation item. Players with save data from previous Attack on Titan games on the same platform will receive additional bonuses — Koei Tecmo has not yet detailed what those will be.

SGD pricing has not been officially confirmed. Check local game retailers and the Singapore PlayStation Store for regional pricing closer to launch.

TGS 2026 Demo: First Hands-On in September

Before the December launch, Attack on Titan 3 will be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2026 (17–21 September) at Makuhari Messe, Chiba. Koei Tecmo has confirmed a dedicated booth and stage event. If you’re travelling to TGS, it’s one of the headlining action-game demos of the show.

Attack on Titan 3 launches worldwide on 10 December 2026. Browse more game news for the latest on Switch 2, PS5, and upcoming releases hitting Singapore.

Attack on Titan Cafe in Shinjuku Opens 3 September — WIT Studio’s Big Reveal

WIT Studio’s cryptic “special dinner” teaser from last week has finally served up the answer — and it is, quite literally, dinner. The original studio behind Attack on Titan Seasons 1 to 3 announced today, via Denfaminicogamer (Japanese) and the official WIT STUDIO X account, that it is opening a limited-time themed cafe in Shinjuku, Tokyo: 「そういう時期の進撃の巨人カフェ〜思春期の晩餐〜」 — roughly, That Kind of Phase: Attack on Titan Cafe — The Adolescence Dinner.

As we noted when WIT Studio first teased this reveal, the announcement visual showed Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Levi, Erwin, and Hange all in WIT’s signature art style, hinting at a pre-battle “special dinner.” The theme is exactly that: a Last Supper on the eve of battle, reimagined with an ironic chunibyo (theatrical teenage-edgelord) spin on the Seasons 1–3 cast.

Attack on Titan Cafe in Shinjuku: Dates and Venue

The cafe runs at BOX cafe&space, Lumine Est Shinjuku 2nd Branch (8F, 3-38-1 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) from 3 September to 12 October 2026. It is a joint production between WIT STUDIO and event producer LTR. All character artwork is brand-new, drawn by WIT Studio specifically for this collab — the first time the studio has produced original Attack on Titan illustrations since handing off the series to MAPPA.

The Menu — Pita, Stew, and a Wall You Break Yourself

The food menu leans hard into character symbolism. Three meatball-and-pita sandwiches form the centrepiece, each paired to a character duo:

  • Eren & Mikasa — spicy seaseri meatball pita with daikon pickles representing Mikasa’s red scarf (¥1,990)
  • Armin & Hange — seafood and a lemon “mystery reagent” sauce for two characters who never stopped asking questions (¥1,990)
  • Levi & Erwin — bone-in sausage with two contrasting sauces, for humanity’s strongest pair (¥1,990)

Sides and desserts include Eren’s Mother’s Stew (¥790) — described as “the taste of a peaceful past” — and the dessert that will make fans lose their minds: the Wall Honey Danish. It is a cube-shaped pastry scored with the Survey Corps star emblem that you crack open yourself to find the honey filling hidden inside. The wall has secrets. You have to break it to find them.

Reservations, Bonuses, and Exclusive Merch

Bookings open tonight, 20 August, at 18:00 JST via the cafe’s official website on a first-come, first-served basis. The reservation deposit is ¥660 (tax included) per person, with up to four seats per booking. Reserve in advance and order from the menu, and you receive one random Hunting Licence-style trading card from a set of six (one per character). Spend ¥3,300 or more and you also receive a random drink coaster from a set of seven.

Original merchandise on sale includes acrylic stands, foil-stamped can badges, clear files, stained-glass-style acrylic stands, and metal charms — all using the new WIT Studio artwork. These will be available in-store and via an online shop on the cafe site, running from 3 September to 12 October.

This is a Japan-exclusive event — no Singapore or Southeast Asia dates have been announced. The September–October window does align with school holiday travel for Singapore fans, and Lumine Est Shinjuku is a five-minute walk from Shinjuku Station, making it a straightforward stop on any Tokyo itinerary. Merchandise from the online shop may also be shippable internationally; check the official site for details.

Maestro Drops Free Switch Demo — Conduct Attack on Titan to Beethoven

If you have ever waved your arms along to the Attack on Titan soundtrack and thought, “I could conduct that” — Maestro is here to settle the debate. Double Jack and Microids have dropped a free demo of Maestro on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 eShop right now, letting Singapore players step onto the conductor’s podium before the game’s September 17, 2026 launch.

MAESTRO: NINTENDO SWITCH – REVEAL TRAILER — via Maestro: Le Game on YouTube

What Is Maestro?

Maestro started life as a virtual-reality rhythm game on Meta Quest and PSVR2, where it won Meta’s Game of the Year award in 2024. Developer Double Jack has now rebuilt the experience for flat screens on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, swapping VR headsets for Joy-Con motion controls. The core loop stays the same: you stand at the podium and lead a symphonic orchestra through iconic pieces of music, one gesture at a time.

The game is deliberately accessible — you do not need to know a crotchet from a quaver to enjoy it — but it has enough depth in its three difficulty tiers to keep rhythm-game veterans working for those perfect performances. As with most rhythm games, the real draw is what you are conducting.

The Soundtrack: Attack on Titan, Star Wars, Harry Potter and More

Maestro ships with 35+ compositions spanning classical and pop-culture scores. Anime and genre-fiction fans will spot some heavy-hitters. Kohta Yamamoto’s “Ashes on the Fire” from Attack on Titan is included as base-game content on both Switch versions — no DLC required. Beyond that, the tracklist pulls in John Williams’ “Duel of the Fates” from Star Wars: Episode I and “Hedwig’s Theme” from Harry Potter, Ramin Djawadi’s Game of Thrones main theme, and Howard Shore’s “Bridge of Khazad-dûm” from The Lord of the Rings. The classical side covers Verdi, Beethoven, Mozart and Brahms, among others.

Each track has its own themed orchestra venue to match the mood — a brooding Viking hall for the more dramatic pieces, a gilded Baroque palace for Verdi, an atmospheric Gothic courtyard for the Harry Potter theme. Post-launch DLC is planned, so the setlist should grow after September.

Conducting With Joy-Con — How It Works

The control scheme maps directly to real conducting technique. One Joy-Con acts as the baton, keeping time and setting the tempo as you sweep it through the air. The other hand cues individual orchestra sections — strings, brass, woodwind, percussion — and shapes the dynamics. Maestro supports both tabletop and docked play modes on Switch, so you can keep the volume low in a shared HDB flat or go full arm-flailing in the living room.

Nailing a performance earns you the “Magnifico” rating from the crowd, and there is a full cosmetics system to unlock — new venues, conductor outfits, batons and gloves — giving long-term players something to chase beyond the leaderboards.

Free Demo, September 17 Launch — What Singapore Players Need to Know

The free demo is live on the Nintendo eShop right now for both Switch and Switch 2. It includes Verdi’s Requiem across all four difficulty levels, which is a decent sampler of whether the motion controls click for you before you commit.

The full game launches September 17 at US$29.99 (Singapore eShop pricing to be confirmed — check the local listing before purchasing). That date coincidentally lands on the same day as Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, making it a busy week for Nintendo fans locally. Maestro supports Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese text, so the interface will feel familiar for players in the region.

There is no confirmed physical edition for Singapore at this point — Microids is publishing a physical cartridge for Switch internationally, but local retailer availability has not been announced. The safest bet for Singapore players is the digital version on the Nintendo eShop, which is available now for the demo and will carry the full game on September 17. Check more Switch and Nintendo news on the blog for updates as launch gets closer.

WIT Studio Teases New Attack on Titan Project — Announcement Coming 20 August

WIT Studio, the animation house that gave Attack on Titan its iconic look across Seasons 1–3, has just teased something new — and the AoT fandom is losing its collective mind over it. On 13 August 2026, the studio posted an official visual to their social channels carrying a single line of Japanese text and a date: 20 August 2026.

The Official Teaser: “Its Name Is Attack on Titan”

The teaser image released on WIT Studio’s official X account arranges close-up eye shots of the core Survey Corps cast — Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackerman, Armin Arlert, Levi Ackerman, Erwin Smith, and Hange Zoë — in horizontal strips against a deep red-to-violet gradient. Stamped across the image in bold white kanji: 名は 進撃の巨人 (“Its Name Is Attack on Titan”). Beneath it, the date 2026.8.20. The copyright line reads: ©諫山創・講談社/「進撃の巨人」The Final Season 製作委員会 — directly from the official Attack on Titan The Final Season Production Committee, not a third-party licensee.

The accompanying post was cryptic: WIT Studio suggested that these characters, “during ‘that period’,” would be gathering for a special dinner. No format, no platform, no title — just an unmistakably official tease and a six-day countdown. The studio’s choice to invoke the WIT Studio era cast (rather than the Marley arc or Rumbling-era characters MAPPA animated) is deliberate and pointed.

WIT Studio’s Return to the AoT Universe — The Context

The August 20 tease doesn’t come out of nowhere. Since April 2026, WIT Studio has been running the Kyoji Asano Monthly Original Drawing Project — limited-edition postcard illustrations by AoT’s original chief animation director, available as purchase bonuses at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA and Kyoto IP stores. August’s postcard features Jean Kirstein; previous months covered Eren and Armin. Alongside this, WIT Studio launched a UKIYO-E series — merchandise rendered in the style of traditional Japanese woodblock prints, featuring Erwin, Levi, and other Survey Corps members on hanging scrolls, metal badge pins, and acrylic keychains.

And on 13 August — the same day as the teaser — WIT Studio quietly marked its 15th anniversary, publishing an interview with founder Wada Joji reflecting on the studio’s journey. The timing looks intentional: a studio milestone and an AoT bombshell on the same day.

What Could It Be? Mark 20 August on Your Calendar

Nothing is confirmed until the 20th, but the teaser’s elements give fans plenty to work with. The exclusive focus on the WIT Studio era cast, the “special dinner during that period” framing, and the official Production Committee copyright all point to a new animated work rather than another merchandise drop. Speculation is running hot across Reddit, X, and Discord: a WIT Studio OVA covering a previously unshown scene? A remastered compilation film showcasing the Season 1–3 arc? Something else entirely?

Whatever it is, it lands at a particularly charged moment for Singapore AoT fans. The Attack on Titan: Symphony from Paradis concert is confirmed for Singapore this November, and the Attack on Titan 3 action game from Omega Force and Koei Tecmo locks in its December 10 release date. A new WIT Studio announcement would complete a year that has already handed local fans more AoT content than any year since the anime concluded. The announcement drops 20 August — follow @WIT_STUDIO on X to catch it live.

The Full Story, Start to Finish

Attack on Titan 3 is the first game in the series to cover the entire manga and anime from beginning to end. You play as a custom Scout Regiment recruit alongside Eren, Mikasa, Armin, and the broader cast, building relationships that unlock character-specific abilities and cutscenes. Koei Tecmo confirmed that MAPPA — the studio behind the anime’s later seasons — is producing an exclusive opening animation directed by Arifumi Imai, to be added via a post-launch update.

Nine Titans, Exterior Scouting Missions and Casual Mode

All Nine Titans — the Colossal, Armoured, Female, Jaw, Cart, Beast, War Hammer, Attack and Founding — appear in-game for the first time in the series. The 3D Maneuver Gear system has been rebuilt to feel faster and more intense, recreating the anime’s large-scale battles.

Brand new are Exterior Scouting Missions, which push the squad beyond the walls: explore open terrain, construct supply bases, manage ODM fuel and blade durability, and take on high-difficulty titan threats. A Casual Mode is also included for players who want to experience the complete story without the mechanical challenge.

Platforms, Pre-Orders and Singapore Pricing

Attack on Titan 3 launches December 10 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. Pre-orders on PSN, the Xbox Store and Steam are open now; Switch 2 pre-orders will open at a later date. We will update this article once local pricing is confirmed.

Everything Confirmed About Attack on Titan 3

Omega Force’s third entry in the series is the most ambitious yet. For the first time, the game covers the complete story of Attack on Titan from beginning to end — from the fall of Shiganshina all the way through the Rumbling and its aftermath. The Nine Titans appear for the first time in a mainline AoT action game.

Scout using omni-directional mobility gear in Attack on Titan 3

The signature omni-directional mobility (ODM) gear combat has been refined to deliver the most acrobatic encounters in the series. Titans come with new attack patterns and behaviours, and a new Casual Mode means players who are primarily here for the story can experience the full game without getting blocked by difficult bosses.

Build Your Squad and Shape the Story

You step in as a fully customisable Scout Regiment protagonist rising through the 104th Cadet Corps. Forging bonds with series characters like Eren, Mikasa and Armin unlocks unique battle abilities and special cutscenes, weaving your custom soldier into the anime’s biggest moments.

Beyond direct combat, Exterior Scouting Missions let you explore the world between battles, establish supply bases, and manage territorial resources — a strategic layer earlier entries in the series did not have.

MAPPA Is Handling the Opening Animation

Koei Tecmo has confirmed that MAPPA — the studio behind Attack on Titan: The Final Season — will produce the game’s opening animation, with Final Season action animator Arifumi Imai directing. One detail to be aware of: this animation is being added post-launch via a free update, so the day-one build will not include it.

Singapore: What to Expect After Tonight

All four target platforms are sold here — PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Steam (PC) — so local availability should not be an issue. A Singapore or regional price has not been confirmed; the stream tonight may include pre-order details. Watch our Game News section for a follow-up as soon as the date drops, and tune in tonight at 10:50 PM SGT if you want to be first to know.

Attack on Titan 3 Locks Winter 2026 on PS5, Switch 2 and PC

Seven years after the last A.O.T. game, Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have confirmed Attack on Titan 3 for a Winter 2026 release on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. This is not a remaster or a spin-off — it is a full new entry that covers the complete Attack on Titan story, from the fall of Wall Maria to the series’ end, with rebuilt ODM combat, all Nine Titans as distinct boss fights, and an open-world survival mode beyond the walls. A post-launch opening cinematic by MAPPA is also on the way.

Seven Years Later: The Titan Showdown Continues

The original A.O.T. games from Omega Force launched in 2016 and 2018, covering the manga’s earlier arcs. Attack on Titan 3 picks up the entire story from beginning to end in one package — meaning the Rumbling, the Marleyan arc, and the series’ divisive-but-memorable finale are all here. For fans who have been with the franchise since Hajime Isayama’s manga first ran in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine, this is the first game that can claim to tell the full story.

Singapore players can look forward to the game across every major platform available locally. The Steam store page is already live, and the Winter 2026 window places the launch somewhere between late November 2026 and early February 2027. No firm date or SGD pricing has been announced yet.

ODM Gear — Rebuilt, Not Refreshed

The omni-directional mobility gear system that defines the series has been substantially reworked for A.O.T. 3. Momentum feels more physical, wire physics carry weight, and blade management is a genuine resource constraint on harder difficulties. A new Casual Mode opens the action to players who found the originals demanding, without stripping the feel of flying between rooftops with dual swords drawn.

A.O.T. 3 – Gameplay Reveal Trailer — via KOEI TECMO EUROPE LTD. on YouTube

All Nine Titans Are Boss Fights

For the first time in the game series, every one of the Nine Titans appears as a full boss encounter with unique attacks and behaviour. The Founding Titan, the Colossal Titan, the Armored Titan, the Beast Titan — each demands a different approach, and the new Titan AI ensures that repeat encounters do not become routine. Omega Force has described these fights as the centrepiece of the late-game progression.

Exterior Scouting Missions: Open World Beyond the Walls

A brand-new mode called Exterior Scouting Missions sends players outside humanity’s walled cities entirely. These are open-world sorties across the landscape beyond Wall Maria where you construct supply bases, manage your ODM fuel and blade stocks, and push humanity’s territory further into Titan country. Squad morale fluctuates in real time, and injuries can carry permanent consequences — a meaningful stakes shift from the more arcade-adjacent pace of earlier Omega Force games.

Play as a Custom Scout — Alongside the Full Cast

Rather than locking players into Eren or Levi, A.O.T. 3 gives you a fully customisable Scout Regiment soldier with an engineer background. This original character is embedded directly into the main story, interacting with Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Levi, Hange, and the broader cast. Building relationships unlocks new battle abilities and story cutscenes — a light RPG layer that gives repeat playthroughs additional incentive.

MAPPA’s Opening Animation — Coming After Launch

The one confirmed caveat: the game’s opening cinematic, produced by MAPPA and directed by Arifumi Imai (who helmed Attack on Titan: The Final Season), will not be included at launch. It arrives as a free post-launch update. Bringing the same creative team behind the Final Season’s most striking visual moments to an opening cinematic is a statement of ambition — and a free update means there is no additional cost once it lands.

Language support covers Japanese audio with English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean text options — a broad enough localisation set that the Asian release should arrive alongside the western launch.

For more upcoming games headed to Singapore, check our game news section.

Attack on Titan 3 Confirmed — PS5, Switch 2 and PC via Steam

Seven years after Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle, Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have officially confirmed Attack on Titan 3 — a single-player action game covering the complete arc of Hajime Isayama’s landmark series, from the Survey Corps’ first battles at Shiganshina to the anime’s climactic conclusion. It is coming to PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Attack on Titan 3 Story and Gameplay

Omega Force’s mandate is ambitious: depict the entire Attack on Titan narrative in one definitive title, and then go further — the game will include brand-new story content and lore not found in the original manga or anime. All Nine Titans are confirmed to appear.

The 3D Maneuver Gear system is getting a full overhaul. Omega Force has promised faster, more acrobatic aerial combat and large-scale Titan encounters designed to push current hardware. What exactly that looks like in motion will be revealed later tonight — the Next Scouting Report broadcast goes live at July 2, 6:00 AM SGT.

What Singapore Gamers Need to Know

All four confirmed platforms — PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam on PC — are widely available through major game retailers and electronics chains in Singapore. Koei Tecmo has confirmed English text support, so there is no region barrier for local players. Japanese voice acting ships from launch, meaning the full original cast is in place.

One detail worth flagging: the game’s opening sequence is being produced by MAPPA Studio, the anime house behind the final two seasons of Attack on Titan. It will not ship with the game on day one — Koei Tecmo plans to add it via a post-launch update — but it reflects how seriously the license is being treated this time around.
