One of the most acclaimed RPGs ever made is coming natively to Nintendo Switch 2. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered launches on 29 September 2026, and if you already own the original Switch version, you get the upgrade for free.
What the Remastered Edition Includes
This is not a simple resolution bump. The Remastered edition brings overhauled combat, revamped skill progression, updated monster AI, new witcher sign effects, improved traversal, transmogrification, new finishers, and an expanded photo mode — on top of substantially improved visuals. The full package includes the base game plus both expansions: Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, weighing in at 42.3 GB. Players who own the original Switch version — digital or physical — can claim the Remastered edition on Switch 2 at no extra cost, with their save files carrying over.
Switch 2 Technical Specs
The native Switch 2 version targets 1080p in docked mode and 720p in handheld, running at 30–40 fps. Handheld mode takes advantage of VRR for smoother performance, and docked mode supports 120 Hz output on compatible displays. The game is also built around Switch 2’s new control options — motion controls let you cast witcher signs, fire crossbows, toss bombs, and handle Roach, while gyro aiming adds precision in combat. Mouse controls and touchscreen input for maps, menus, and Gwent are included too.
Singapore Switch 2 owners can pre-order digitally on the Nintendo eShop now. The US eShop lists the game at USD 59.99; check the local Singapore eShop for the SGD price at launch. Existing Switch owners should look for the free upgrade claim on the eShop from 29 September.
Songs of the Past: A New Expansion in 2027
Beyond the Remastered edition, CD PROJEKT RED announced Songs of the Past — a brand-new, full-scale Witcher 3 expansion set for 2027. Developed in partnership with Fool’s Theory (a studio staffed by veteran Witcher 3 developers), the expansion takes Geralt to Letten, a peaceful rural realm hiding dark secrets beneath the surface. New enemies, never-before-seen weapons including a chain, and returning characters are confirmed. The expansion also transitions to playing as Ciri, bridging events toward The Witcher 4. It is available to wishlist on the Nintendo eShop now.
The original Switch version of The Witcher 3 was a technical marvel for its time but ran at limited resolution and frame rate. The Switch 2 Remastered is the definitive portable version, and for the large pool of Singapore players who already own it on Switch, 29 September is essentially a free upgrade day.
