Nintendo dropped a new look at Pokémon Pokopia‘s upcoming expansion content during the Nintendo Direct 9.9.2026, and Part 2 of the Expansion Pass is shaping up to be the most stylish update yet. The September segment confirmed several new Pokémon moving into town and gave us our first real look at an all-new accessories system — letting you dress up Ditto and your Pokémon neighbours in coordinated outfits.
New Accessories Let You Style Ditto and Your Pokémon Neighbours
The headline addition in Expansion Pass Part 2 is the accessories system. From what was shown in the Nintendo Direct segment, you can equip your Ditto character and your resident Pokémon with cosmetic items including cool sunglasses, classy bow ties, and Sylveon-style ribbons — so your Pokémon neighbours can match your look. It’s a feature that fans of the life-sim genre will recognise immediately, and it fits Pokopia’s cosy, customisable DNA perfectly.
New Pokémon Confirmed for Part 2
Four Pokémon were spotted in the trailer that are not currently in the base game: Braixen, Skitty, Doduo, and Snubbull. Nintendo has confirmed more Pokémon will be revealed before Part 2 launches, so this list is not final. Given how Part 1 added a trio of fan-favourite Water-types, expect a similarly themed or diverse batch to round out the Part 2 roster before the end of the year.
The Full Expansion Pass Roadmap
The Expansion Pass covers all three parts and cannot be split into individual purchases. Here’s where each part stands right now:
- Part 1 — Bubbly Basin: Live since August 5, 2026. Added an underwater locale, Ditto’s Dive ability, and Water-type residents including Popplio, Totodile, and Mudkip.
- Part 2 — Accessories update: Coming late 2026. No specific date confirmed yet, and importantly, no new town is being added in this part.
- Part 3: Arriving 2027, and will introduce an additional new town.
If you already purchased the Expansion Pass, Part 2 will download automatically when it goes live — no extra payment required.
What Bubbly Basin Already Brought to Pokopia
If you haven’t dipped into Part 1 yet, Bubbly Basin turned Pokopia into a two-town game. The underwater locale brought a new building challenge — plants need air to grow beneath the surface — alongside the Dive mechanic that lets Ditto explore subaquatic spaces. For Singapore players who picked up Pokopia at launch or caught the 5 million sales milestone, Bubbly Basin has already added plenty of hours.
When Will Part 2 Drop?
Nintendo confirmed late 2026 as the window for Part 2, but stopped short of giving a specific month or date. Given the pattern from Part 1 — announced at the June 9 Nintendo Direct and launched August 5 — it’s reasonable to expect another Nintendo Direct reveal of the release date sometime before the end of year. With Part 3 locked to 2027 and a new town waiting, Part 2 is firmly the “bridge” update: lighter on structural content, but likely to land just in time for the holiday season.
