Adventures of Elliot Launches on Switch 2, PS5 and PC

Square Enix and Team Asano — the studio behind Octopath Traveler and the Bravely Default series — have launched their latest HD-2D title, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The PlayStation Singapore store lists the game as available from 17 June, with the global launch officially dated 18 June 2026 — making now the perfect time to jump in at S$79.90 on PS5 or Switch 2.

An Epic That Spans Millennia

The game unfolds on Philabieldia, an untamed continent where the last remnants of humanity huddle behind the walls of the Kingdom of Huther while beast tribes roam the wilds beyond. You play as Elliot, a young adventurer, alongside his fairy companion Faie. Their central tool is the Doorway of Time — a mysterious artefact that lets them travel across four distinct historical eras, each with its own visual flavour and a piece of the world’s forgotten history to uncover.

It is a premise that wears its JRPG heritage on its sleeve. Early critics have drawn comparisons to Chrono Trigger, The Legend of Zelda, the Mana series, and Ys — which makes sense given that the core development team at Team Asano brought a similarly eclectic mix of inspirations to Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default.

Real-Time Action Combat Built for All Players

Unlike the turn-based systems in previous Team Asano games, Adventures of Elliot goes fully real-time. Players can equip two weapons simultaneously from seven types — including swords, bows, boomerangs, and chains — and weave in shield mechanics and Faie’s fairy magic to shape a personalised combat style. A Magicite enhancement system adds further depth: collectible fragments slot into your gear to unlock additional effects, from currency boosts to extended boomerang throws.

For those wanting company, a second player can take control of Faie in local co-op, assisting with both battles and environmental puzzles. The exploration side of things leans heavily on shrine-based puzzle-solving in a way that fans of action-adventure games will find familiar.

Famitsu Awards It 34 Out of 40

Ahead of launch, Famitsu scored The Adventures of Elliot a strong 34 out of 40, according to TechTimes. That puts it firmly in the “recommended” tier for Japan’s leading games publication — on par with the solid scores earned by other Team Asano releases. The same early wave of coverage has described it as evoking the feeling of a spiritual successor to Chrono Trigger, which is about as high a bar as you can set in this genre.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo: 68 Years Later Gets English Print in 2027

Jujutsu Kaisen may have wrapped its main run, but the universe is far from over. VIZ Media confirmed on 12 June 2026 that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo — Gege Akutami’s near-future sci-fi sequel — will receive its first English print edition in Spring 2027. The three-volume manga is already available to read in English right now on MANGA Plus and VIZ’s digital platform, but for local fans who prefer a book in hand, the physical volumes are on their way.

What Is Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo?

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo (published in Japan as Jujutsu Kaisen ≡) is a direct sequel to the original manga, set in the year 2086 — 68 years after the Culling Game that defined the series’ final arc. Written by series creator Gege Akutami with artwork by Yuji Iwasaki, the story kicks off when an alien race known as the Simurians arrives on Earth in a spacecraft. Unlike most sci-fi aliens, the Simurians are capable of wielding Jujutsu Sorcery — and they’re not invaders. They’re looking for a new home.

The manga ran as a limited serialisation in Weekly Shonen Jump from September 2025 through early 2026, collected into three volumes. The final volume, Volume 3, was published in Japan on 1 May 2026.

Meet the New Okkotsu Siblings — and an Alien Diplomat

The three leads bring both a sense of legacy and something genuinely new to the JJK universe:

  • Tsurugi Okkotsu — grandson of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zen’in, the elder brother and a skilled jujutsu sorcerer
  • Yuka Okkotsu — Tsurugi’s younger sister, equally capable, and described as having an overpowered cursed technique of her own
  • Marulu Val Vol Yelvori (Maru) — the Simurian diplomat assigned to partner with the Okkotsu siblings; sent to demonstrate that his people can coexist with humanity

Fans of the original series will immediately recognise the weight of those surnames. Yuta Okkotsu was one of the most powerful sorcerers in the main run, and seeing his grandchildren carry that legacy into a sci-fi setting is a compelling hook even before you get into the actual story.

The MAPPA-Produced PV — a Taste of a Potential Anime

To commemorate the final volume’s release, Studio MAPPA — the team behind the JJK TV anime — produced a special animated PV for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo (Japanese). The clip surpassed three million views within 12 hours of going live on the official Jump Channel, with many viewers noting it looked indistinguishable from an actual anime episode. No full adaptation has been announced yet, but the PV’s existence — and the audience response to it — makes one seem increasingly likely. Watch this space, especially with MAPPA’s 15th Anniversary event coming up on 19 June.

Three Volumes, All Out Now — English Print in Spring 2027

All three volumes of the manga are complete and readable in English right now via MANGA Plus by Shueisha (free, with ads) and the VIZ Media app. If you want to catch up before the physical editions arrive, there’s nothing stopping you.

VIZ Media’s Spring 2027 slate announcement also included the Slam Dunk Deluxe Edition and the first English release of Detective Conan in omnibus format — a strong season for manga fans overall.

Last words

JJK’s universe just got bigger — and stranger. If you’re a fan of the original series who hasn’t dipped into Modulo yet, this is a good moment to start: all chapters are free online, the physical English volumes are confirmed, and a MAPPA anime adaptation feels like a matter of when rather than if. Singapore fans can expect to find the print editions at Kinokuniya and other bookstores once they ship in Spring 2027. For more manga and anime news, browse our Manga Anime section.

Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition Launches on Switch 2 This June

Dante has never run on a Nintendo platform — until now. Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on 23 June 2026, and Netflix has simultaneously greenlit a third and final season of its DMC animated series. It has been a big few weeks for fans of Capcom’s stylish-action franchise.

Devil May Cry 5 Switch 2: A First for the Franchise on Nintendo Hardware

Capcom unveiled the Devil Hunter Edition during the June 2026 Nintendo Direct, marking the first time a mainline Devil May Cry title has appeared on a Nintendo system. Built on Capcom’s RE Engine, the port targets 60fps in both TV and handheld modes — essential for a game where every frame counts when you’re chasing S-rank style scores.

The digital version launches on 23 June 2026. Pre-orders and early purchases through 31 July are priced at USD$29.99 (standard price: USD$39.99). SGD pricing on the Nintendo eShop Singapore is to be confirmed; check the eShop closer to launch. A physical copy follows on 28 August 2026.

What Is in the Devil Hunter Edition?

The Devil Hunter Edition bundles the complete DMC5 campaign with every major DLC, including the fan-favourite Vergil as a playable character. That gives you four distinct playable protagonists out of the box: Nero (with his modular Devil Breaker prosthetics designed by Nico), the legendary Dante, the summon-based V, and Vergil himself. Rounding things out are costume colour variants, bonus taunts, and extra battle tracks to customise your sessions.

DMC5 first launched in 2019 on PS4 and Xbox One before arriving on PS5 and Xbox Series X in a Special Edition with Vergil already playable. The Switch 2 release brings that definitive package to a portable platform for the first time — perfect for Singapore commuters and students who prefer handheld gaming.

Netflix’s Devil May Cry Anime Enters Its Final Arc

On the animation side, Netflix confirmed the Devil May Cry animated series — available on Netflix Singapore right now — will return for a third and final season. Showrunner Adi Shankar outlined the grand design in a statement to Variety: “This was always Dante’s ‘Divine Comedy’ with guns and a red coat. Season 1 was ‘Inferno.’ Season 2 was ‘Purgatorio.’ Season 3 will be ‘Paradiso.'” All three chapters together form what Shankar calls The Force Edge Saga, conceived from the start as “a movie trilogy disguised as a television series.”

Season 2 debuted on 12 May 2026 and racked up 6.4 million views in its first two weeks, keeping the show on Netflix’s Global Top 10. Season 1 has accumulated 21.7 million views to date. No premiere date for Season 3 has been confirmed yet.

Singapore Switch 2 owners have a clean opportunity on 23 June: DMC5 Devil Hunter Edition is one of the most technically polished action games of the past decade, and the early-adopter window makes it an easy recommendation. Meanwhile, if you have not started the Netflix series, Seasons 1 and 2 are on Netflix Singapore now — ideal prep for the Paradiso finale whenever it arrives. Witch Hat Atelier: Season 1 Finale Drops 22 June on Netflix Singapore

Witch Hat Atelier is heading into its season finale. This week the production released Story Visual Vol.5 alongside a web commercial containing preview footage from the climactic second exam arc — the final push for Coco and her fellow apprentice witches. The season finale, Episode 13, airs on 22 June 2026, and Singapore viewers can catch it on Netflix.

Witch Hat Atelier | Official Trailer 2 — via Crunchyroll on YouTube

What Is Witch Hat Atelier?

Kamome Shirahama’s manga has been running in Kodansha’s Monthly Morning Two since 2016 — 15 volumes in and over seven million copies in circulation. It follows Coco, a girl who discovers that magic, which the world treats as a gift only the chosen are born with, can actually be taught. The catch: that knowledge is forbidden. The Knights Moralis, a magical order that enforces a strict division between permitted and forbidden spells, polices the world’s understanding of the craft, and Coco’s discovery puts her on a collision course with that system.

The anime adaptation is produced by BUG FILMS, directed by Ayumu Watanabe, and scored by Yuka Kitamura — the composer behind Elden Ring, Dark Souls III, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. If you have played any of those games, you already know the mood she is capable of building. The season opened with a double-episode premiere on 6 April 2026 and has been airing weekly since.

The Second Exam Arc and This Week’s Finale Preview

Episodes 11 to 13 cover the second exam arc. Story Visual Vol.5, dropped alongside the preview footage this week, depicts scenes from that arc — high stakes, strained alliances, and the question of what these apprentices are really willing to risk in a world that has decided certain magic must remain hidden. The preview commercial teases that the finale does not hold back.

Witch Hat Atelier Story Visual Vol.5 -- second exam arc

Episode 13 carries the title Forbidden Magic — an apt name for a series whose central argument has always been that the line between permitted and forbidden was drawn by people with something to protect, not by any natural law.

When and Where to Watch in Singapore

Episode 13 premieres on 22 June 2026 at 11 PM JST. Singapore viewers can watch on Netflix. The series also streams on Crunchyroll for viewers outside Asia, and on ABEMA in Japan.

Episode 12 aired this past week, which means there is just enough time to start — or catch up on — Season 1 before the finale arrives next Sunday. The opening theme is Kaze no Anthem by Eve feat. suis from Yorushika, and the ending theme is Tada Utsukushii Noroi by Nakamura Hak.

Last words

A Season 2 has not been confirmed yet, so this finale carries genuine weight — it may be the last chapter of the story we get animated for some time. For Singapore fans who love beautifully drawn, thoughtfully written fantasy, Witch Hat Atelier has been one of the best anime this spring. Do not let Episode 13 go unwatched. Set your Netflix reminder now.

Creators Super Fest 2026 at Suntec Singapore: 11-12 July

Singapore’s mid-year pop-culture calendar just got a must-attend date. AFA Creators Super Fest 2026 (CSF26) is returning to Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre on 11–12 July 2026, bringing two days of anime art, cosplay, live music, and hands-on creative workshops to Hall 403–405.

What Is Creators Super Fest?

Running under the banner of “CREATE. SHARE. PLAY.”, CSF is Anime Festival Asia (AFA)‘s annual community-driven festival built specifically for the ACG (Anime, Comics, Games) creator scene. Unlike a standard convention, it puts the spotlight squarely on the talent behind the art — illustrators, cosplayers, crafters, and performers from Singapore and across the region come together to showcase work, run workshops, and meet fans face-to-face. This year’s edition takes over Hall 403–405, a larger footprint than previous years, with a revamped floor plan designed for easier navigation.

Guest Illustrator: lack

Headlining the art side is lack (stylised in lowercase), a renowned Japanese illustrator whose career on Pixiv stretches over a decade. Fate/Grand Order fans will recognise his distinctive style from the Servant designs he contributed to FGO, including Okada Izou, Sétanta, Andromeda, and Toudou Heisuke. Meeting him at an autograph or talk session is the kind of opportunity that rarely makes it to Singapore — the full programme for his appearance will be confirmed closer to July.

Super Akiba Stage: Rie-fu, Kohana Lam and Yomii

The live music lineup is equally strong. Three artists who will resonate deeply with anime fans are confirmed for the Super Akiba Stage:

  • Rie-fu — the Tokyo-born singer-songwriter whose bilingual track “Life is Like a Boat” became the beloved ending theme for early-run Bleach in 2004. She also contributed music to Gundam SEED Destiny, Darker than Black, and D.Gray-man. Catching her perform live in Singapore is a rare chance.
  • Kohana Lam — the avex trax singer-songwriter behind anime themes for The Dangers in My Heart and My Friend’s Little Sister Has It In for Me!, with her 2026 album Time With You (out February) already turning heads across the region.
  • Yomii — the Japanese indie-pop artist bringing her atmospheric sound to the CSF stage.

What to Expect on the Floor

Creators Super Fest 2026 floor plan Hall 403-405 Suntec Singapore
Image courtesy of Creators Super Fest

The CSF26 floor spans Hall 403–405 and is divided into dedicated zones across the two days:

  • Creators Hub — browse exclusive artwork, prints, and merchandise directly from premium and standard artist tables, with more names being announced in the weeks ahead.
  • Cosplay Hub — more than 30 confirmed cosplayers will be on the floor over both days, available for photos and interaction.
  • Cosplay Singles Competition — competitors go head-to-head for cash prizes in one of the event’s most-watched highlights.
  • Creators Lab — live workshops where you can watch and participate as artists demonstrate their process in real time.
  • Fashion Hub — ACG-inspired fashion from regional designers and creators.
  • Super Akiba Stage — the main performance stage for the music acts above and additional programming to be announced.

Getting There

Suntec Singapore is one of the most accessible convention venues in the city. Take the Circle Line to Esplanade MRT (CC3) — Hall 403–405 is roughly a 3-minute, 248-metre walk from the station exit. Event hours are 9am–6pm on both Saturday 11 July and Sunday 12 July.

Tickets

CSF26 is a ticketed event. Ticket prices and sale dates have not yet been announced — follow the official Creators Super Fest website and @creatorssuperfest on Instagram for updates. Artist meet-and-greet slots and special passes have sold out fast in past editions, so keep an eye on announcements the moment ticketing opens.

Last words

With guest illustrator lack representing the Fate/Grand Order art world and Rie-fu bringing anime-classic credentials stretching back to 2004, CSF 2026 has the lineup to draw a wide crowd — from competitive cosplayers to fans who simply want a July weekend surrounded by passionate ACG creators. We’ll update this page once ticket pricing drops. In the meantime, browse our coverage of other events coming up in Singapore this year.

AC Black Flag Resynced: Made in Singapore, Out July 9

Set sail one more time — and this time, the crew behind the wheel is right here in Singapore. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the first full remake Ubisoft has ever produced, is arriving on July 9, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. And it was built, from the keel up, by Ubisoft Singapore.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: Official Summer Game Fest Trailer — via Assassin’s Creed on YouTube

A Singapore Studio Takes on Ubisoft’s First-Ever Remake

Ubisoft Singapore wasn’t just a support studio this time. The team here led development of Black Flag Resynced as the primary developer — the first time a Singapore-based studio has helmed a major AAA remake for a global publisher. The original 2013 Black Flag was itself co-developed in Singapore, which makes this a full-circle moment: the studio that helped define those iconic naval battles a decade ago is now rebuilding them from scratch.

The entire game has been reconstructed on the latest evolution of Ubisoft’s Anvil engine, with ray-traced global illumination, realistic water simulation, and support for DLSS 4.5 upscaling. Consoles get a 60 FPS performance mode, and the Caribbean has never looked wetter — dynamic weather now affects visibility and combat, with storms rolling in mid-fight and swells that actually move the Jackdaw.

Gameplay: Rebuilt Stealth, Parries, and Piracy

The gameplay changes go well beyond a fresh coat of paint. Stealth has been reworked so Edward can crouch anywhere and dive underwater anywhere — no more frustrating spots where the game locks you out of cover. A new observe mode replaces the old tailing missions, which previously caused an immediate mission failure if spotted. Now guards can clock you and you still have a window to recover, which makes the mission design feel far less punishing.

Combat leans into precise swordplay: parrying is now the core of every duel, combo chains are shorter and snappier, and the Hidden Blade has been pulled from standard combat to be used only in stealth takedowns and contextual kills. Naval combat gets new secondary weapons including shrapnel barrels, and the expanded parkour system makes getting around Havana and Nassau feel noticeably smoother.

New Story Content — Blackbeard, Stede Bonnet, and 10 New Shanties

Returning Edward Kenway voice actor Matt Ryan reprises the role for the remake, including new additional missions and scenes written specifically for Resynced. The expanded story gives dedicated screen time to fan-favourite historical figures: Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet each get new origin missions, and three new named officers join the Jackdaw crew, each with their own unique storylines.

The soundtrack grows too — 10 new sea shanties have been added to the roster, and the Jackdaw gets new customisation options including cosmetic skins, pets, and additional ship upgrades. The modern-day interlude sections from the 2013 original have been replaced entirely by optional narrative-driven “What If?” scenarios, keeping the focus firmly on Edward’s Caribbean adventure.

Editions, Pricing, and Pre-Order Bonus

Pre-orders are open now across PlayStation Store, Xbox, Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Ubisoft Store:

  • Standard Edition — US$59.99
  • Deluxe Edition — US$69.99 (includes character and naval cosmetic packs)
  • Collector’s Edition — US$199.99 (31 cm Edward figurine, leather logbook, metal brooch, steelbook, artbook, map poster)

Anyone who pre-orders any edition receives Blackbeard’s Crimson Pack: an exclusive costume for Edward, plus matching swords and pistols. SGD pricing via local retailers is to be confirmed — check the PlayStation SG store or your preferred retailer closer to launch.

Last Words

Singapore gamers, we genuinely have something to be proud of here. A local studio — Ubisoft Singapore — just delivered Ubisoft’s first-ever remake of a major franchise entry, and from the Summer Game Fest footage, it looks every bit the send-off Edward Kenway deserves. With a July 9 launch less than a month away, now is a great time to put in that pre-order. Check out more game news on GameTrader.SG for the latest on what’s dropping this season.

Black Clover Season 2 Officially Sets October 2026 Premiere — Coming to Crunchyroll in Singapore

After a five-year wait, Black Clover Season 2 is officially happening — and we finally have a premiere window. The new season is confirmed for October 2026, with Crunchyroll streaming it exclusively outside Japan, which means Singapore fans will be watching weekly alongside the rest of the world.

Black Clover Second Season | Official Trailer 2 — via Crunchyroll on YouTube

The Official Confirmation — Published Today in Weekly Shōnen Jump

The announcement landed in Weekly Shōnen Jump issue 29 (dated June 15, 2026) and was confirmed simultaneously via the official Black Clover X account (@bclover_PR). The release window is October 2026, placing it squarely in the Fall 2026 anime season. A specific premiere date has not yet been announced, but the October window means we are roughly three and a half months away from new episodes.

Director Ayataka Tanemura and the Core Team Are Back

Studio Pierrot is returning as the animation studio — the same house behind Naruto, BLEACH, and the original 170-episode Black Clover run. Director Ayataka Tanemura, who helmed the final stretch of Season 1 (episodes 153–170) and directed the beloved 2023 film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, is back in the chair. The core production team is also reassembled, with Keiichiro Ochi returning for series composition and Itsuko Takeda handling character design.

As covered by Anime Corner from the official announcement, director Tanemura said: “Once again, I’ll be serving as director! Will Asta and the others finally return after such a long time? We’re pushing ourselves beyond our limits in production so that we can show you an even more powerful story!”

Anime Expo 2026 — World Premiere of Episode 1 on July 4

If you happen to be in Los Angeles for Anime Expo 2026, there’s a very good reason to clear your July 4 schedule: a special panel will screen the world premiere of Black Clover Season 2’s first episode, with Asta’s Japanese voice actor Gakuto Kajiwara and director Tanemura appearing live on stage. For everyone else, the weekly broadcast begins in October — Crunchyroll has confirmed exclusive international streaming rights.

If you want to catch up before it drops, check out the other anime we’ve been covering for the Fall 2026 season.

Last Words

Black Clover has always punched above its weight in Singapore. The original run had consistent viewership here, and the 2023 film performed well across Southeast Asia — so a full Season 2 is genuinely big news for local fans. Crunchyroll’s international simulcast means Singapore viewers get new episodes at the same time as Japan, no waiting for localised releases. October is roughly when the school holidays kick in too, which means the timing could not be much better for a long-running shonen marathon. Set a reminder, and keep an eye on the official Black Clover X account for the specific premiere date once it drops.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Brings the Full RPG to Switch 2 on 9 October

Capcom has confirmed that Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on 9 October 2026 — the first time any game in the Dragon’s Dogma series has appeared on a Nintendo platform. The package bundles the base game with a brand-new expansion called Dark Arisen, which adds a snowy new region, a fresh gameplay system, and enough reason to return even if you already cleared Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PS5 or PC.

What Is Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen?

If you missed Dragon’s Dogma 2 when it launched on PS5 and PC in 2024, the short pitch is that Capcom built one of the most reactive open-world action RPGs in years — a game where your party of Pawns actually adapts to what you do, where creature encounters feel weighty rather than scripted, and where exploration rewards curiosity at every turn. Switch 2 owners will get all of that in one box.

The new Dark Arisen expansion adds the Norgan region, a harsh, snow-covered landscape that brings fresh enemy types and environmental challenges distinct from the base game’s varied biomes. Two major systems debut alongside it:

  • Appraisal Mechanic — Players discover mysterious items in the world and bring them to appraisers to unlock new weapons, armour, and skills. It adds a loop of discovery and anticipation that dovetails neatly with Dragon’s Dogma 2’s existing loot systems.
  • Relic Expedition Cycle — A new recurring activity that gives veteran players ongoing reasons to revisit the world alongside the expansion’s story content.

Capcom also noted that Title Update 1 is available now for existing owners on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC — an early taste of improvements landing ahead of the expansion’s October release.

Platforms and Pricing

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches across all platforms on 9 October 2026:

  • Nintendo Switch 2 — US$49.99 bundle (base game + Dark Arisen expansion included)
  • PS5 / Xbox Series X|S / PC (Steam) — US$29.99 for the Dark Arisen DLC if you already own the base game

Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 version are open now. SGD pricing has not been confirmed at time of writing — check the Nintendo eShop SG or your local retailer for local pricing closer to launch.

What This Means for Singapore Players

Dragon’s Dogma 2 sat at or near the top of many best-of-2024 lists among RPG players here, but its heavy hardware demands meant it was very much a PS5-or-PC proposition for local fans. The Switch 2 port changes that equation entirely — and at US$49.99 for the full package including Dark Arisen, it is arguably the best value way to experience Capcom’s open-world RPG for the first time.

For Singapore players who already own the game on PS5 or PC, the Dark Arisen DLC adds a meaningful new chapter rather than cosmetic extras, making it worth the return trip. The Norgan expansion in particular looks like Capcom taking the world in a genuinely new direction.

Last words

October 9 is a few months away, but this is one to put on your radar now. Dragon’s Dogma 2 already earned its reputation as one of the standout action RPGs of recent years, and Dark Arisen looks like a worthy expansion rather than a retread. For Switch 2 owners in Singapore, it may well be the biggest RPG release of the platform’s second half of 2026.
