FGO Summer 2026: Swimsuit Lilith, King Protea & Benienma Revealed

Three of the most hotly debated names in the FGO community just got official. During the TYPE-MOON Times segment at FGO Fes. 2026 ~Chaldea School Festival 11th Anniversary~, running August 1–2 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Fate/Grand Order dropped the full reveal for this year’s summer event — and Swimsuit Lilith alone is already setting fan forums alight.

FGO Summer 2026 Servants — Three SSRs and a Free Habetrot

Four servants headlining the 2026 summer event were confirmed at the stage — three as limited SSR (★★★★★) gacha pulls and one as a free distribution servant:

  • Swimsuit Lilith (リリス) — SSR ★★★★★, limited gacha
  • Swimsuit King Protea (キングプロテア) — SSR ★★★★★, limited gacha
  • Swimsuit Benienma (紅閻魔) — SSR ★★★★★, limited gacha
  • Habetrot — ★★★★, distributed free to all players

Three additional servant silhouettes were also teased on stage, with details to follow in future announcements — so the summer banner will run deeper than these four names. Full skill sets and Noble Phantasm details are yet to be confirmed by the official FGO in-game notice.

Swimsuit Lilith — The Alien God’s Consort Hits the Beach

Lilith (リリス) becomes one of the most story-significant limited servants ever added to the summer roster. Her design leans into a cool, off-duty rebel aesthetic — black bikini, neon-trim jacket, baseball cap, and a rune-inscribed surfboard. For Singapore players who have been following FGO’s Cosmos in the Lostbelt arc, she is a figure of considerable plot weight; the summer event framing is presumably going to have some fun with that contrast.

Swimsuit Benienma — The Demon Judge of Red Takes a Day Off

Benienma (紅閻魔) swaps her restaurant apron for a summer hat and tourist gear — still armed with a spatula, still surrounded by her signature owl-shaped snacks, now with a beach backdrop. Benienma has been a popular four-star servant for years; her SSR summer upgrade is reliably the kind of announcement that empties Saint Quartz stashes. Swimsuit King Protea rounds out the three SSRs, bringing the towering purple-haired warrior from the Shinjuku chapter to the poolside in a white two-piece.

Male Summer Costumes (霊衣) for 2026

Hassan of the Cursed Arm 耀星のハサン in Vivid Summer (ビビッド・サマー) costume, FGO Summer 2026
Image courtesy of TYPE-MOON / FGO PROJECT

Alongside the new limited servants, three male servants receive reii (霊衣) summer costume upgrades — purely cosmetic, changing the sprite without adding new skills:

  • Bedivere (★★★ Saber) — Silver Knight of Summer (夏の銀騎士)
  • Hassan of the Cursed Arm (耀星のハサン) (★★★★ Assassin) — Vivid Summer (ビビッド・サマー)
  • Dante Alighieri (★★★★★ Pretender) — Relaxing Dante (リラクシング・ダンテ)

Hassan of the Cursed Arm’s Vivid Summer look — neon shades, blue hair, pink tank top, silver jewellery — is a dramatic departure from his usual masked assassin silhouette, and the crowd reaction at Makuhari Messe was predictably loud. Costume acquisition methods will be confirmed in the full event notice.

Mahou Tsukai no Yoru Comes to Smartphones — and New Film Visuals Drop

The other headline from TYPE-MOON Times: Mahou Tsukai no Yoru (魔法使いの夜 / Witch on the Holy Night) is getting a standalone smartphone app launching 20 November 2026 as a one-time paid purchase — no subscription, no gacha. This is the visual novel Nasu Kinoko wrote before Fate/stay night existed: first published for PC in 2012, then given a full-voice HD console port in 2022. Until now it has never been on mobile.

For FGO players who have been curious about the wider Nasuverse but missed the PC or console versions, this is the cleanest entry point to date. The story follows Aoko Aozaki — a teenage girl who arrives at a hilltop mansion in a quiet Japanese town, only to discover it is home to two witches. App pricing and international availability have not yet been confirmed; monitor the official TYPE-MOON channels for Southeast Asia announcements.

Two new key visuals for the ufotable anime film adaptation — one illustrated by TYPE-MOON’s Koyama Hirokazu, one by ufotable — were released at the same FGO Fes stage today. The film premieres in Japan on the same date, 20 November 2026, as we covered when the date was first confirmed. No overseas theatrical or streaming release has been announced yet.

Senren*Banka Anime Announced for 2027, KOTOKO Returns

After a decade of devoted fans asking when Yuzusoft would finally make the leap to television, the wait is officially over. At Yuzusoft Songfes 2026 in Kanto on 26 July, the developer announced that their acclaimed visual novel Senren*Banka (千恋*万花) will be adapted into an anime — broadcast scheduled for 2027. What makes this even sweeter: the entire original voice cast is coming back, and KOTOKO will handle the opening theme song once again.

What Is Senren*Banka?

If the title is new to you, here is the short version. Senren*Banka is a Japanese-style romance visual novel set in a sleepy hot-spring town steeped in mythology. The protagonist — a city boy visiting the countryside — accidentally draws an ancient cursed sword from a shrine rock, triggering a cascade of supernatural trouble involving shrine maidens, rival ninja clans, and four unforgettable heroines. It is warm, funny, and surprisingly emotional.

Yuzusoft quietly became one of the most acclaimed visual novel studios in Japan, and Senren*Banka is their centrepiece title. It launched for Windows PC in 2016, received a Nintendo Switch port, and was localised into English by NekoNyan Soft. By February 2026 it had crossed one million copies sold worldwide, sitting on an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam backed by around 34,000 reviews — a remarkable result for an independently produced visual novel.

For Singapore players who have not yet experienced it: the English version is available right now on Steam and Nintendo Switch. Now is the perfect time to catch up before the anime arrives.

Senren*Banka Anime: What Was Confirmed at Songfes 2026

Three concrete details were revealed at the Kanto event on 26 July:

  • Original cast, all returning. Haruka Sora reprises Yoshino Asatake (朝武芳乃), Kotorii Yuuka returns as Mako Hitachi (常降茉子), Mikan Sato voices Murasame (ムラサメ) once more, and Sawazawa Sawa returns as Lena Liechtenauer (レナ・リヒテナウアー).
  • KOTOKO on the opening theme. The artist who performed the original game opening returns for the anime, maintaining the musical identity fans know.
  • 2027 broadcast window. No specific season or cour has been pinned down yet.

The animation studio, episode count, and international streaming arrangements — including whether Crunchyroll, Netflix, or another service will carry it for Singapore — have not been announced. Yuzusoft has promised further details in upcoming announcements. We will update our coverage here at GameTrader the moment SG-specific streaming information becomes available.

Why Singapore VN and Anime Fans Should Care

This is Yuzusoft’s first-ever anime adaptation — the studio has produced acclaimed visual novels for over a decade, with titles like Riddle Joker and Sanoba Witch earning strong followings on Steam in Southeast Asia, but none had crossed over to animation until now. Senren*Banka is the breakout, and the circumstances feel earned: a million-copy global fanbase, an official English localisation that reached readers well beyond Japan, and a community that has lobbied for an adaptation for years.

KOTOKO’s involvement adds its own weight. She has been a pillar of the anime music scene in Southeast Asia for two decades — themes like “Re-sublimity” and her work across multiple visual novel franchises are well known among SG fans. Her returning specifically to Senren*Banka’s universe suggests this is a production built for the audience that made the game a million-seller, not a box-ticking exercise.

Streaming availability in Singapore is to be confirmed. Follow the official Yuzusoft X account (Japanese) for future updates, and keep an eye on our anime coverage here for when localised streaming details emerge.

Prince of Tennis Romance Remasters Hit Switch 2 and PC on 30 July — Now in English

Two of the most beloved Prince of Tennis romance games from 2005 are finally coming back, and this time they are heading west. The Prince of Tennis II: Sweet School Festival ♡−40 and more… and The Prince of Tennis II: Doki Doki Survival ~eternal passion! Tie break ♡game~ both launch on 30 July 2026 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam — fully remastered, and newly available in English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.

For fans across Singapore and Southeast Asia who grew up watching the anime on TV or reading the manga, this is long overdue. The original games were Japan-only PS2 releases; outside Japan you could only admire them from afar. That changes in two weeks.

School Festival or Deserted Island? Two Games, One Summer

The two games put you in very different situations — and that’s the point. In Sweet School Festival, you are living the full school-festival experience surrounded by more than 40 tennis princes from rival schools. Think cultural stalls, drama rehearsals, and heart-racing moments in between. In Doki Doki Survival, a plane detour strands you and a group of fan-favourite characters on a tropical island, kicking off a survival-meets-romance story where the stakes feel just a little higher than finding the right club room.

Both are otome visual novels with fully voiced scenarios in Japanese and date events unique to each character. The Prince of Tennis II cast covers ten schools and dozens of iconic rivals, so whichever game you pick, there are plenty of princes to spend your time with.

What the Remaster Actually Adds

Both remasters get newly drawn high-resolution illustrations, and you can freely toggle between the original PS2-era artwork and the redrawn scenes — a thoughtful touch for anyone who wants nostalgia alongside the upgrade. Some event CGs also have subtle animation added to them in the new version.

On Nintendo Switch 2, the games run at full-screen high resolution with shorter load times and mouse support, plus an exclusive Game Share feature that lets you create and share short mini-dramas using in-game characters. The interface has been overhauled with a cleaner map and navigation system, and character affinity comments change based on how far your relationship has progressed.

Asia Gets a Physical Edition — and Japan Gets the Full Collector’s Set

Regional fans will be glad to know that Asia is getting physical Nintendo Switch editions of both titles alongside the global digital release. Japan’s limited edition sets, available at 15,400 yen each, include the physical game, a special staff t-shirt, an acrylic panel, a sticker set, and a clear file — plus digital bonus content. Specific Asia edition contents are to be confirmed closer to release.

For everyone else, digital pre-orders are live now on the Nintendo eShop and Steam. Each title is priced at US$49.99 (SGD equivalent to be confirmed by Konami at launch). Existing Switch owners who later upgrade to a Switch 2 can use the Upgrade Pass to access the Switch 2 Edition features.

Language support — English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese text alongside the original Japanese voice track — means Singapore players can dive straight in without any workarounds. If you have been waiting more than two decades for an officially localised way to romance your favourite Seigaku, Hyoutei, or Rikkai rivals, 30 July is your day.

Danganronpa 2×2 Delayed to Early 2027 — Slayhem Mode and 3D World Map Revealed

Spike Chunsoft has confirmed that Danganronpa 2×2 will no longer make its originally planned 2026 release window, pushing the game back to early 2027. The delay announcement landed alongside a substantial batch of new details — two distinct play modes, a rebuilt island map, and revamped character art — so there is plenty to dig into while we wait.

Two Ways to Play: Original Mode and Slayhem Mode

Danganronpa 2x2 Slayhem Mode — class trial with new scenario

The headline feature is the dual-scenario system. Original Mode retells Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair from 2012 with updated visuals and modernised presentation — the definitive way to experience the story if you missed it or want a polished revisit on current hardware.

Slayhem Mode is the new offering: a completely separate scenario built on the same foundations, but with different victims, different culprits, and entirely different tricks leading the class trials. Spike Chunsoft says Slayhem adds approximately 20 percent more content than the base original-mode story, and — importantly — both modes are available from the very start of the game, so there is no need to clear Original first to unlock the new scenario.

A Proper 3D World Map

Jabberwock Island gets a proper spatial treatment in Danganronpa 2×2. Where the original game used a side-scrolling map to move between locations, the remake introduces a fully navigable 3D World Map that lets you see the island’s actual layout. Players can run freely across the map or instant-travel to any destination — and from a first-person viewpoint, the tropical atmosphere is said to read very differently from the original’s flat presentation.

Revamped Character Portraits

Every character portrait has been redrawn with new illustrations for the remake, updating the cast’s look to sit alongside the game’s modernised presentation. A sample set of new portraits was shared alongside the delay announcement.

The Psycho Tropical Vacation Package

The premium physical bundle, priced at US$139.99, includes a copy of the game, clamshell-style outer box, Kidrobot Psycho Tropical three-inch Monokuma and Monomi figures, an RSVLTS reversible Psycho Tropical bucket hat, and the original soundtrack. No Singapore-specific pricing has been confirmed — local fans wanting the physical collector’s edition will need to import.

What Singapore Fans Need to Know

Danganronpa 2×2 launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam, covering every major platform available in Singapore. The standard digital edition will be the easiest path for local players — PS5 and Switch 2 are both well-distributed here, and the Steam release means PC players are fully included.

As for the delay itself, the producer’s message, as relayed via Gematsu, put it simply: “While development has been progressing toward a 2026 release, we have decided to move the launch to early 2027. We are continuing to work to bring you the best possible experience. We sincerely appreciate your patience.” A firmer release date will be shared at a later time.

STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT Gets Release Dates and a New Dark Route

Okabe Rintaro is back. STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT is not a remaster or a port — it is a complete reimagining of the landmark 2009 visual novel from MAGES., rebuilt from scratch for modern hardware, and it now has firm global release dates alongside a brand-new story route that veteran series fans have never experienced.

STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT – Gameplay & Teaser Trailer | Coming 2026 — via Spike Chunsoft, Inc. on YouTube

Not a remaster — a full rebuild

STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT starts from the foundation of STEINS;GATE ELITE, but everything you will see and hear has been replaced. Character artwork, backgrounds, and event images are completely redrawn — the total event image count has roughly doubled, and backgrounds have increased by around 20%. All voice acting has been re-recorded with the returning cast, and composer Takeshi Abo has remade the entire soundtrack from scratch. The base story itself has also been refined: tighter pacing, new dialogue, and an expanded word count, aimed at both newcomers and players returning to Akihabara for the first time in years.

MAGES.’s E-mote system is used throughout for character animations, giving Okabe and the cast vivid real-time expressions and natural movement — a meaningful step up from the static sprite art of the 2009 original.

The Gamma Worldline: a brutal new story

The biggest addition in RE:BOOT is the Gamma Worldline, an entirely new story route that does not appear in the original game or in STEINS;GATE ELITE. In this timeline, Okabe’s alter-ego Hououin Kyouma never came to exist. There is no completed time machine, and D-Mails — the messages capable of reaching the past — cannot be sent. Stripped of the persona that drives everything in the main route, Okabe is forced to work alongside Moeka Kiryu and confronts loneliness and despair in a Akihabara that has no use for a self-styled mad scientist.

A new trailer released in June 2026 by Spike Chunsoft previews the Gamma Worldline, and the tone is deliberately dark. Whether it connects into the established worldline structure or stands as its own contained narrative has not been confirmed ahead of release.

Release dates and platforms

Global release dates for STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT are confirmed on the official site:

  • Xbox Series X|S and Steam: 20 August 2026
  • Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5: 29 October 2026

Physical editions are limited to Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PS5. Pre-orders are open now across all platforms.

Last words

STEINS;GATE has always had a passionate following in Singapore, and RE:BOOT arriving on every platform in the local ecosystem — PS5, Switch 2, Switch, Xbox, and Steam — with a simultaneous Western release means no waiting on a localisation window. If you have never played the original, this is shaping up to be the definitive entry point. If you have, the Gamma Worldline is reason enough to return. Keep an eye on our game news section as both the August and October dates draw closer.
