The Dagdan Empire — Fire Emblem: Three Houses’s Neighbour, 250 Years Later

Fortune’s Weave is set in the Dagdan Empire, a kingdom that borders Fodlan — the continent at the heart of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The game is set roughly 250 years after Three Houses’s story concludes, and the connection goes deeper than geography. The goddess Sothis, whose consciousness awakened within Byleth in that game, returns in Fortune’s Weave and sings the new game’s theme song. This is not a direct sequel — the characters and plot are entirely standalone — but for the large Three Houses fanbase in Singapore, the shared world and returning goddess give the story real weight before you even pick up your first weapon.

Four Heroes and the Tournament That Changes Everything

The story begins in 1449 at the Heroic Games, a prestigious tournament in the Dagdan Empire whose winner receives a single wish granted by the Divine Sovereign Solel. Four warriors compete:

  • Cai — a young swordsman whose only goal is freeing his imprisoned father
  • Dietrich — a renowned duelist searching for the one opponent who can truly test him
  • Theodora — a warrior-queen carrying the survival of her entire kingdom into every fight
  • Leda — a performer turned avenger, hunting justice for her father’s murder

Five years on — by 1454 — the Heroic Games are over. The demon god Balor has risen and begun tearing through the Dagdan Empire. The four champions who should have been its defenders have vanished. Here is where your journey begins.

Sothis, Fortuna’s Blessing, and the Power to Rewrite the Past

Sothis summons a player-controlled soul — your character — and pairs them with the goddess Fortuna, the holder of a power called Fortuna’s Blessing: the ability to manipulate time. Your mission is to travel back to the era of the Heroic Games and change the fates of Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda before the catastrophe of 1454 becomes permanent.

That time-rewind mechanic extends directly into battles. Fortuna’s Blessing lets players roll back to any earlier moment in a fight to try a different approach — a flexible alternative to the series’s classic permadeath that should make difficult encounters more approachable without eliminating the tension entirely.

Classes, Weapons, and Blaze Arts

The class system has three tiers. Beginners choose from five starter classes; they advance into ten or more Specialty classes — including mounted Bardinger riders, Elephant Riders, and Charioteers — before reaching Advanced classes with distinct movement ranges and expanded abilities. Six weapon categories are in play: swords, gauntlets, spears, axes, bows, and magic, including exotic variants such as lightning swords and firearm-styled gauntlets.

Two combat systems stand out. Combat Arts are familiar to series veterans — powerful strikes that consume weapon durability. Blaze Arts are new: high-risk special moves that cost the user’s own HP, forcing a real-time trade-off between offensive power and survivability within the same turn. Between battles, free-time segments in the city of Dagsion and a World Map allow training, shopping, temple visits, side quests, and dungeon dives for gear and recruitable units.
