What’s On: State of Play Main Show

The first broadcast is the global State of Play, promising “updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners.” Sony has confirmed one segment outright: an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Square Enix’s third entry in the FFVII remake series, still targeting a spring 2027 release across PlayStation, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC.

Beyond that confirmed segment, Sony has kept the full lineup under wraps. The show streams in English with Japanese subtitles available.

State of Play Japan — The Asia-Focused Showcase

Immediately after the main show, State of Play Japan takes over, hosted once again by voice actor Yuki Kaji. The segment promises “deep dives into upcoming games from game studios in Japan and Asia, including new gameplay, announcements, and more,” and runs in Japanese with English subtitles.

For Singapore gamers, this is arguably the more interesting window. Japan-adjacent titles — smaller-budget JRPGs, visual novels, action games from mid-tier publishers — rarely get the spotlight in the English-language State of Play, but frequently land on PlayStation and are widely available in Singapore. The Japan broadcast is where that pipeline tends to surface.

How to Watch from Singapore

Both shows stream live at 9pm SGT on Thursday, 3 September via the PlayStation YouTube channel and the PlayStation Twitch channel. No account is needed to watch live on YouTube. The shows run sequentially — the main State of Play first, then State of Play Japan immediately after — so budget time for both if you want the complete picture.

FF7 Revelation: Where It Stands Heading In

Final Fantasy VII Revelation has been shown extensively this year — from the Vincent and Cid reveal at Gamescom to the FITS combat system breakdown — but Thursday’s segment is described as an “extended look at the vast world,” which suggests an open-world or exploration showcase rather than another combat trailer. We’ve followed every reveal including the Gamescom deep dive, and the game is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of early 2027 for PS5 owners in Singapore. Stay tuned after Thursday’s show for our breakdown. Find more game news here.
