PS Plus September 2026: Four Free Games Available Now

September 1 marks the start of a fresh PS Plus month — and this time, PlayStation is packing the Essential tier with four titles spanning WWII stealth action, retro JRPG, baseball, and co-op sandbox chaos. All four are available to claim right now, and you have until 5 October to add them to your library.

The Full PS Plus September 2026 Lineup

PlayStation announced the September 2026 Essential line-up on its official blog on 26 August, and all four games go live today:

  • Sniper Elite: Resistance (PS5, PS4)
  • MLB The Show 26 (PS5)
  • Wobbly Life (PS5, PS4)
  • Chained Echoes (PS4)

PlayStation Director Adam Michel summed it up: “Take aim in Sniper Elite: Resistance, shape a diamond dynasty in MLB The Show 26, buddy up for larks and adventures in Wobbly Life, and enjoy some classically-designed JRPG goodness with Chained Echoes.”

Rebellion’s latest entry drops you into Nazi-occupied France as an SOE operative working alongside the French Resistance to sabotage a dangerous new weapons programme. If you’ve played Sniper Elite 5, this story runs parallel — more WWII France, not a sequel. The hallmark long-range kill cams are intact, and the game adds Axis Invasion mode where other players can hunt you down mid-mission.

The multiplayer suite is generous: campaign co-op, 16-player competitive matches, and a 4-player Survival mode. If you’ve never touched the series, this is a solid, low-cost entry point.

Chained Echoes — The JRPG Gem You May Have Missed

Chained Echoes is the sleeper pick this month. Built almost entirely by solo developer Matthias Linda, this 16-bit-inspired JRPG launched in 2022 to strong critical reception and has been quietly recommended in JRPG circles ever since. Set in the war-torn continent of Valandis, it combines turn-based combat with sky-vehicle battles and a layered story that doesn’t outstay its welcome. Think Chrono Trigger energy with a darker, more complex edge. It’s PS4 only, but runs fine on PS5 via backwards compatibility.

MLB The Show 26 and Wobbly Life Complete the Haul

MLB The Show 26 is the wildcard — a PS5-only baseball sim landing day-and-date on PS Plus at launch, which is unusual even by Sony’s standards. Singapore PS Plus members can access it on the PlayStation Singapore store. Members also receive an exclusive Jump Start Bundle that gives your Diamond Dynasty team a head start, claimable from 1 September through 6 October.

Wobbly Life rounds out the month: an open-world co-op sandbox for up to four players where you wobble through jobs, races, and general chaos across a cheerful island. Available on both PS4 and PS5, it’s a low-barrier pick for group sessions.

Claim Window and What to Know

All four games are available to claim from today, 1 September 2026. The claim window closes on 5 October 2026, after which a new lineup takes over. Add them to your library now even if you’re not ready to play — claiming is instant and costs nothing beyond your existing subscription.
