Resident Evil 2, 3 & 4 Remakes Hit Switch 2 on October 16

Three of the best survival horror games of the past decade are arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 next month. Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition all launch digitally on October 16, 2026 — and unlike the original Switch’s cloud versions, these are fully native ports.

Three Iconic Survival Horror Games, One Platform

Announced at Nintendo’s September 9, 2026 Direct, the trilogy brings Capcom’s remake series to Switch 2 in full. Each game includes its associated DLC content: the Deluxe Edition of RE2 bundles in its bonus content, and RE4 arrives as the Gold Edition — meaning the Separate Ways campaign following Ada Wong is included out of the box.

The October 16 date is digital-only at launch, with physical Game Card versions of all three titles following in January 2027.

Native Ports — This Is a Big Deal

On the original Nintendo Switch, both Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 were only available as cloud-streaming versions — playable only with a stable internet connection and unavailable in offline mode. These Switch 2 releases are native ports: fully downloaded, playable anywhere, no internet required.

More significantly, Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023) is appearing on a Nintendo platform for the first time. Switch players who missed it on PS5 or PC finally get to experience one of the best-reviewed games of 2023 in handheld mode.

What Singapore Gamers Need to Know

The October 16 digital launch applies globally via the Nintendo eShop, so Singapore Switch 2 owners will be able to download all three games on that date. Physical editions arrive in January 2027 and should be available at major game retailers and electronics chains here. SGD pricing has not yet been confirmed — we will update this post when regional eShop prices go live.

If you own a Switch 2 and have never played these remakes, this is a compelling reason to jump in: all three games are consistently rated among the best in the survival horror genre, and the portability of Switch 2 makes them even more appealing for Singapore’s busy, on-the-go lifestyle.
