Kemono Teatime Brings Its Cosy Café World to PS5 and Switch 2

Studio Lalala’s award-winning kemomimi café sim Kemono Teatime is coming to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Developer Studio Lalala (part of FURYU) made the announcement on 3 September, adding a PC release via DLsite to the mix. The cosy ASMR visual novel originally launched on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on 4 September 2025 — no release date or price has been set yet for the new platforms.

What Is Kemono Teatime?

Set in a world where kemomimi (animal-eared) people are simply a part of everyday life, Kemono Teatime puts you in charge of a small café run by two sisters in the seaside town of Melodius. The core loop is soothing by design: listen to what each kemomimi customer wants, blend the right tea from 9 black teas, 15 herbs, and 6 secret ingredients, and follow their stories as relationships deepen and seasons turn.

The game leans heavily on ASMR — all sound design is handled by voice actress Kotori Koiwai through her ASMR brand kotoneiro. Music comes from Snail’s House, the Tokyo-based producer with a devoted following in Singapore’s lo-fi and kawaii music community, while NOCO handles character design and the game’s gentle visual palette. The theme song is a loving homage to daniwell’s internet-classic “Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya!”

Each customer visit is a small puzzle. You match fragrance, richness, astringency, and clarity levels to what a guest is in the mood for, selecting from the tea and herb roster — some ingredients carry hidden effects like “Warms the Body.” Blend well and you unlock more of that character’s backstory; miss the mark and the conversation stays light. It is the kind of low-pressure challenge that makes a 20-minute session feel rewarding without a shred of stress.

That formula earned Kemono Teatime 1st place in the Simulation category at the Dengeki Indie Awards 2026, and 3rd place in Adventure — validation that its blend of story and soft game mechanics resonated well beyond the cosy-game niche.

The Switch and Steam versions already support English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese — making the upcoming PS5 and Switch 2 ports a natural fit for Singapore players. Thai language support arrives in November 2026, with Korean to follow in 2027.

If you want to try it now, the Steam version is currently 30% off. No release date or pricing for the PS5/Switch 2 versions has been announced — keep an eye on Studio Lalala’s official channel for updates. Browse more gaming news on GameTrader.SG.
