One week from today, 16 September 2026, Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration hits shelves everywhere on the same day — and that ‘everywhere’ includes Singapore. It is the first expansion in the card game’s history to launch simultaneously across all twelve official languages worldwide, which means for once our local game shops are on equal footing with Japan and the US. No waiting, no importing, no FOMO.
Why This Pokémon TCG Set Is a Big Deal
The 30th Celebration expansion does several things that haven’t been done before. Every single card in the set — including Basic Energy cards — is foil. Every booster pack guarantees one of 30 unique Pikachu illustrations, each drawn by a different artist, making the Pikachu chase a centrepiece of the experience rather than an afterthought. And the classic reprint subset brings back 30 iconic cards from across the TCG’s 30-year history with new foil treatments and a special 30th anniversary stamp, including the original Base Set Charizard and the Sun & Moon–Team Up Pikachu & Zekrom-GX.
The New Futuristic Rare Rarity
30th Celebration introduces a new card rarity called Futuristic Rare, illustrated by Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN. These cards render Pokémon in opalescent, almost holographic art styles with 3D graphical elements and vivid colours unlike anything seen in the TCG before. The debut Futuristic Rares are Mewtwo ex and Mew ex, with more confirmed across the full 160+ card list. Beyond Futuristic Rares, the set features a strong lineup of Pokémon ex cards: Greninja ex, Umbreon ex, Sylveon ex, Jirachi ex, and Salamence ex, plus new day-and-night-themed artwork variations across multiple entries.
Booster packs each contain six cards plus one foil Basic Energy — one more card than a standard pack — with a Pikachu from the 30-illustration set guaranteed in every single pull.
Every September 16 Product
The full launch wave arrives on 16 September 2026. Here’s what to look for at major game retailers and hobby shops:
- Elite Trainer Box — nine packs, a full-art Nidorina promo, sleeves, dice, and a storage box.
- Pokémon ex Box (Sylveon ex / Greninja ex) — four packs plus an oversize foil promo of your choice.
- Poster Collection — three packs, three Legendary promo cards (Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres), and a pull-out poster featuring 160+ cards from the set.
- Knock Out Collection — two packs plus an Eevee foil and a plastic coin.
- Tech Sticker Collection — three packs plus Alolan Exeggutor or Lucario foil promos and collectible tech stickers.
Additional products follow later in October and November, including the Booster Bundle, Mini Tins, the premium Espeon ex & Umbreon ex Battle Deck, a Ditto Premium Collection, and the high-end Ultra-Premium Collection Day & Night for serious collectors. The Pokémon Center exclusive Elite Trainer Box with eleven packs and two Nidorina promos will also be available via Pokémon Center.
Format Legality: A Heads-Up for Competitive Players
30th Celebration is not Standard legal. None of the cards from this expansion will slot into your rotation-legal deck, but they are eligible in formats that accept original printings of featured cards. This is a collector and casual play set first — the joy is in the pull, the artwork, and the anniversary nostalgia. Competitive players will still want to chase specific cards for Expanded and Legacy formats, especially the high-rarity Pokémon ex reprints.
Singapore Availability
Because this is the first globally synchronised launch in TCG history, local stock should land on 16 September 2026 — the same day as Japan, the US, and Europe. Expect stock at major game retailers and hobby shops across Singapore; check with your local Pokémon TCG stockist to pre-register interest or secure pre-orders before launch day.
