Where the Seeds Fall, developed with studio ZEREO, is a leap-of-faith action adventure launching on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam) on 5 November 2026.
What Is CygamesEdge?
CygamesEdge is Cygames’ new brand built around small to mid-sized game projects. The label’s motto — “Stay on the edge.” — signals an intent to back unconventional ideas that larger productions might not greenlight. CygamesEdge has launched dedicated YouTube, X (Twitter), and Discord channels alongside this first title announcement, so it looks like a sustained label rather than a one-off experiment.
For Singapore fans who already follow Cygames — through Granblue Fantasy: Relink, the Shadowverse ICS tournament at Suntec City earlier this year, or Uma Musume — this new brand is worth watching. It signals the studio is ready to take creative risks outside the franchises they’re already known for.
Where the Seeds Fall: Story and Setting
The game is built around a catastrophe called the Blight — a corruption that has rendered the earth’s surface uninhabitable. Humanity’s survivors have retreated to the vast canopy of a colossal World Tree, constructing a nation high above the rotting ground below.
You play as a soldier who, during a mission, encounters a child branded a Fell Child — a figure society has labelled an omen of disaster. Something about the child reminds him of his late daughter, and against orders he resolves to escort the mysterious figure down to the surface world. The reveal trailer sets the tone immediately: quiet, unsettling, with sweeping vertical vistas that convey just how far there is to fall.
The Leap-of-Faith Gameplay
Where the Seeds Fall centres on a single terrifying core mechanic: falling. You navigate the crumbling platforms and branches of the World Tree by reading wind currents, judging landing spots, and hurling flower buds ahead of you — they bloom on contact into cushioned pads that break your fall. The challenge is choosing where to commit before you step off the edge.
It is an action adventure built around tension and environmental storytelling rather than traditional combat systems, which makes it an unusual proposition in a release window stacked with action-heavy titles.
Platforms, Date, and Language Support
Where the Seeds Fall launches 5 November 2026 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam as a digital-only title. Supported languages at launch include Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean — so Singapore and Southeast Asian players are fully covered at release.
