Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown DLC Launches 15 October — Ships, Diving and New Bosses

Pearl Abyss dropped the reveal at PlayStation’s September State of Play, and it’s a meaty one: Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown is the game’s first paid DLC expansion, launching on 15 October 2026. Kliff’s story isn’t finished — it’s just heading out to sea.

Set Sail Beyond the Greymane Coast

The headlining addition is full naval exploration. Kliff now captains a ship to push beyond the existing coastline and reach new island zones — territory that was simply out of reach in the base game. It’s a genuine expansion of the map, not just a new quest area, and the reveal trailer plays up the scope with sweeping ocean vistas.

Underwater exploration follows naturally: once you’re out at sea, you can dive beneath the surface to hunt for hidden treasures and ruins. The aquatic environment is entirely new — a teal-lit seabed complete with coral, rock formations and whatever Pearl Abyss has lurking in the deep.

New Bosses: Dragons, Mechs and More

The DLC expands the threat roster significantly, adding dragons and mechanical bosses alongside new weapons, armour sets and mounts. If the base game’s combat was the hook that kept you playing past launch, Charting the Unknown is bringing new peak encounters to test your build. Fresh martial arts skills are bundled in as well, so there is actual kit to earn rather than just cosmetics.

The underwater section deserves its own beat. Pearl Abyss showed Kliff diving in full armour-like gear through coral-ringed reef environments — a side of the game world that reads completely different to the arid deserts and Gothic architecture of the main campaign. Whether there are proper underwater combat encounters or just exploration is not yet detailed, but the visual scope alone is striking.

Story Continues — and Beachside Living Arrives

The narrative thread picks up for Kliff, Oongka and Damiane after the base game’s ending, with new story content built specifically for the DLC. On the lifestyle side, Pearl Abyss is expanding the settlement mechanics: beachside housing arrives alongside broader improvements to the Greymane camp base-building and NPC interactions in Pywel.

It is worth noting that this content requires Crimson Desert Enhanced, the free update Pearl Abyss released in August — if you bought the base game at launch, grab the Enhanced patch before 15 October.

Price, Platforms and Pre-Order Bonus

Charting the Unknown launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) at US$24.99 / £19.99 — roughly S$33 at current rates. Singapore players on PS5 can find it on the PlayStation Store now; Steam and Epic pre-orders followed shortly after. The Mac version of Crimson Desert will not receive the DLC at launch.

Pre-ordering gets you the Charter’s Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka, and the Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane — cosmetic diving gear that fits the nautical theme neatly. The DLC goes live on 16 October at 6:00 AM SGT (22:00 UTC on 15 October).
