Avatar: Seven Havens — First Trailer Drops, Oct 9 Premiere

The Avatar franchise’s next chapter finally has a face. Avatar: Seven Havens dropped its official teaser trailer at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 on Thursday, revealing an October 9 premiere on Paramount+ and introducing Pavi — the Earthbending successor to Korra — along with a startling twin-Avatar twist that sets the new series apart from everything that came before.

A World That Fears Its Own Avatar

The setting of Seven Havens picks up after the events of The Legend of Korra, but the world it depicts has fallen apart. A devastating cataclysm — possibly linked to Korra’s merging of the physical and spirit worlds — has shattered civilisation, and what remains of humanity has retreated into seven isolated strongholds known as the Seven Havens. In this bleak new era, the Avatar is not a symbol of hope. The teaser’s most striking line drives the point home: the title marks its bearer as humanity’s destroyer, not its saviour.

The show is produced by Avatar Studios and Nickelodeon Animation Studio as a 2D-animated series across 26 episodes, split into two books in keeping with the franchise’s tradition.

Meet Pavi — and the Twin Who Could Change Everything

The new Avatar is Pavi, a young dark-skinned Earthbender voiced by Saheli Khan, living in the sandy, windswept city of Allura. She walks with a wooden prosthetic in place of her left leg — a quietly significant design choice from character designer Sara Kipin — and carries a cautious, guarded personality that sets her apart from the brash Korra.

Early in the story, Pavi discovers she has a long-lost twin sister named Nisha (Aishu Devan), who is aggressive and outgoing where Pavi is measured. The twist: both sisters can bend all four elements. Both believe they are the true Avatar. That central conflict — two people with equal claim to the most powerful role in the world — gives Seven Havens a premise that no prior Avatar series has attempted, and the trailer hints at it without spelling everything out.

Korra’s Shadow Looms Over the New Story

Korra is not entirely absent from the teaser. A brief flashback shows her in the Avatar State — the white-glowing-eyes moment that the franchise has always used for its most pivotal scenes — offering a glimpse at what may have preceded the world’s collapse. Whether Janet Varney will return to voice the character beyond the teaser footage has not been confirmed by Paramount or Avatar Studios.

The Creators Who Built the Original Are Back

Perhaps the single biggest signal that Seven Havens is worth taking seriously: it is created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the duo behind both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. After their well-publicised departure from the Netflix live-action adaptation, their return to the animated medium — and to the universe they built — is the news many fans were waiting for before committing to a new entry.

Completing the reunion is composer Jeremy Zuckerman, whose scores for both the original series and Korra became as iconic as the shows themselves. The full voice cast also includes Akshay Khanna as Karthik, Major Curda as Jae (an airbender who serves as Pavi’s mentor), Sakina Jaffrey as Agam, Darren Barnet as Daemin, Dianne Doan as Zi, and Dee Bradley Baker voicing both Geet and Ruhi — Baker previously brought Appa and Momo to life in the original series, and Geet, Pavi’s cat-monkey companion, looks to continue that tradition of memorable animated animals.

26 Episodes Drop All at Once — Here’s the Singapore Catch

All 26 episodes of Avatar: Seven Havens will drop simultaneously on Paramount+ on October 9, 2026 — no weekly releases, no waiting between books. For fans in the US, Australia, or Canada, it will be a full-season binge from day one.

For Singapore viewers, the picture is less clear. Paramount+ does not currently operate in Singapore or Southeast Asia, and regional streaming rights for Seven Havens have not been announced. Previous Avatar content has found its way to Southeast Asian platforms over time — Singapore fans should watch for regional distribution news closer to launch. In the meantime, the official teaser is free to watch on the Avatar Legends YouTube channel.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game Is Out Now — Critics Give It an 81 on Metacritic

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is out today across PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC — and it has already landed as the highest-rated fighting game of 2026 so far. With a Metacritic score of 81 across nine critic reviews, the game we first covered when the full roster and DLC were revealed at EVO has turned its pre-launch promise into a genuinely well-reviewed title worth your attention this week.

What Critics Are Saying — An 81 That Could Still Climb

Across nine scored reviews on Metacritic (PC), Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game sits at an 81 — comfortably in the “Generally Favorable” band and notably higher than most licensed fighters manage. The game also scores 80 across seven PS5 reviews, and review aggregator OpenCritic is similarly positive.

EventHubs, one of the most respected fighting game outlets, awarded it a 9.5/10, calling it “a triumph of the genre” and “one of the best licensed video games period.” IGN landed at 8/10, praising “immense potential with some of the most satisfying movement.” DualShockers gave it an 8.5/10, highlighting the game’s “lore-accurate and great looking characters” and its accessibility for players who don’t usually pick up fighters. SteamDeckHQ went further, calling it “a masterpiece” at a perfect 10/10.

The criticisms are light: some reviewers noted a limited arcade mode and the occasional long loading screen. But at US$29.99 for the Standard Edition, the consensus is that this is very easy to recommend.

What Makes It Click — Flow, 12 Characters, and a Story from the Creators

Developed by Gameplay Group International — veterans behind Killer Instinct and Them’s Fightin’ Herds — the game brings 12 characters across both animated series to a four-button fighting system built around a Flow mechanic unique to each fighter. Every character uses Flow moves differently, which gives the roster a depth that goes well beyond surface-level bending-type differences. Appa joins as a support character, which as far as fighting game cameos go is hard to top.

The 12-character launch roster spans both series: Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Zuko, Korra, Azula, Avatar Kyoshi, Zaheer, Fire Lord Ozai, plus Avatar State Aang and Nightmare Korra as alternate unlockable versions. The original story mode runs to nearly 30 chapters and was co-written by Avatar co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino alongside series writer Tim Hedrick — which is more creative involvement from the original team than most game tie-ins manage to secure.

The game ships with proprietary rollback netcode and full cross-play across all platforms, so Singapore players matching with friends on other systems should have no issues.

How to Get It in Singapore

The digital Standard Edition launches today at US$29.99 on the PS Store, Nintendo eShop, Microsoft Store, and Steam — check your local storefront for SGD pricing. The Deluxe Edition (US$49.99) bundles in the Year 1 Pass, which covers the first five post-launch DLC characters; as we covered last month, that includes Iroh, Ty Lee, Lin Beifong, Bolin, and a fifth character chosen by a fan community vote.

A physical edition for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S is set for October 2026, published by PM Studios — worth noting for collectors who prefer a box on the shelf. For the latest in games news, keep an eye here.

The EVO 2026 panel for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game delivered what fans had been waiting for: the full Year 1 DLC lineup, a community vote for a fifth character, and pre-orders open now ahead of the game’s July 23 launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC Steam, and Nintendo Switch.

The Confirmed Four: Who Is Joining the Roster

Iroh leads the lineup — the tea-loving, wisdom-dispensing, lightning-wielding firebender from Avatar: The Last Airbender. His move set draws on fire breath, dragon-based techniques, and lightning, with the developers hinting that his signature wisdom will show up in “some smart tricks” that distinguish him from the Zuko and Azula already on the launch roster.

Ty Lee is the non-bender of the group, built around acrobatics, movement, and chi-blocking — expect a highly mobile, pressure-based character who can physically shut down an opponent’s bending mid-fight. From The Legend of Korra, Lin Beifong trades Toph’s raw earthbending for metalbending precision: her retractable cables are the headline tool, giving her range control and punish options unlike anyone else in the cast. Rounding out the quartet is Bolin, whose lavabending means he can literally set the ground on fire — a “floor is lava” situation that no other character in the game can create.

Vote for the Fifth Character

The fifth and final Year 1 slot goes to a fan vote — open exclusively to players who pre-order the game. Five candidates are on the table:

  • Tenzin — airbending master, mobility specialist
  • Kuvira — mid-range metalbending control character
  • Amon — the Equalist leader, chi-blocking plus bloodbending undertones
  • King Bumi — trickster earthbender with ground teleportation
  • Asami Sato — tech-based fighter using electric gloves and traps

Voting opens in late summer once the game is live. Pre-order now and you’re in; the vote is not open to non-pre-order players.

Pre-Order Details and What You Get

The base game is priced at $29.99 USD. Pre-ordering — via PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store/Xbox, or Steam — gets you:

  • Closed beta access, July 2–5, 2026
  • Gold costume variants for six characters
  • Samurai Appa support skin
  • Eligibility to vote for the fifth Year 1 DLC character

The Deluxe Edition bundles the base game with a digital art book, the game’s soundtrack, unique HUDs, and the full Year 1 Pass — all five DLC characters as they release. Year 1 Pass pricing has not been announced separately.

Availability and What It Means for Singapore Players

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game launches July 23 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam), and Nintendo Switch — with a Nintendo Switch 2 version also confirmed. Rollback netcode and full cross-play are built in from day one, which matters for the regional scene: Singapore and Southeast Asian players will share matchmaking with the broader global pool rather than being stranded in a smaller regional shard.

The beta on July 2–5 is particularly useful for the local FGC — it’s a chance to feel out the netcode and character matchups before the full release, and to lock in your DLC vote. Avatar Legends Fighting Game: July 23 Launch — Full Roster, DLC Reveal at EVO Tonight

The wait is nearly over for fans of both bending and button-mashing. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game — developed by Gameplay Group International and published by PM Studios in collaboration with Paramount, Skydance, and Avatar Studios — has locked in a July 23, 2026 release date for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. And tonight at EVO 2026 in Las Vegas (that’s 10 AM SGT this Saturday morning), the first Year One DLC character drops.

What Is Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game?

This is a fast-paced 1v1 fighting game built by veterans behind Killer Instinct and Them’s Fightin’ Herds, which immediately says something about the competitive pedigree on the table. The game covers both animated series — Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra — and its 12-character launch roster reflects that: Aang, Korra, Zuko, Katara, Toph, Sokka, Azula, Zaheer, Fire Lord Ozai, Kyoshi, Avatar State Aang, and Avatar State Korra.

Visually, the team went for hand-drawn 2D animation faithful to the source material rather than a 3D fighter approach, and on the technical side there is proprietary rollback netcode and full cross-play across platforms — both non-negotiables for a game looking to build a serious online scene.

Pricing, Platforms, and the Pre-Order Beta

On July 23, the game launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) at USD$29.99. A Deluxe Edition at USD$49.99 bundles the Year One Pass — five additional characters released over the first year — along with a digital soundtrack and digital artbook. Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions are confirmed but are arriving at a later, as-yet unannounced date.

If you want to get in early, pre-ordering on PS5, Xbox, or PC unlocks access to a closed beta running July 2–5, letting you test online play and the full launch roster before the game goes live. Singapore players can pre-order digitally on the PS Store or Steam right now.

Year One DLC — Who’s Getting Added to the Roster?

The EVO 2026 panel for Avatar Legends kicks off at 7 PM PDT tonight (10 AM SGT, Saturday 27 June) with the big reveal: the identity of the first Year One DLC character. The studio is also unveiling the candidates for the second DLC slot, with pre-order buyers getting to vote and shape the roster. If you want to watch it live, the panel airs on the official EVO Twitch channel.

Five additional characters are planned across the Year One Pass, and given how deep both Avatar series run in terms of fan favourites, the speculation threads are running hot. The candidates set to be announced tonight should give the community plenty to argue about between now and launch.

Singapore Access and What to Know

Singapore is covered on both the PS Store and Steam, so digital pre-orders are straightforward. The USD$29.99 entry price translates to a reasonably accessible buy-in at the Singapore PlayStation Store (expect regional pricing to apply — check the SG PS Store or Steam listing for the local price before purchase). The game supports cross-play, so whether you are on PS5 or PC, you will be matched into the same online pool.

Avatar fans in Singapore have been waiting a long time for a proper competitive fighter from this universe, and from what the trailer shows, Gameplay Group International clearly understands both the franchise and the genre. Keep an eye on our game news section for the DLC character reveal recap once tonight’s EVO panel wraps.
