The Avatar franchise’s next chapter finally has a face. Avatar: Seven Havens dropped its official teaser trailer at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 on Thursday, revealing an October 9 premiere on Paramount+ and introducing Pavi — the Earthbending successor to Korra — along with a startling twin-Avatar twist that sets the new series apart from everything that came before.
A World That Fears Its Own Avatar
The setting of Seven Havens picks up after the events of The Legend of Korra, but the world it depicts has fallen apart. A devastating cataclysm — possibly linked to Korra’s merging of the physical and spirit worlds — has shattered civilisation, and what remains of humanity has retreated into seven isolated strongholds known as the Seven Havens. In this bleak new era, the Avatar is not a symbol of hope. The teaser’s most striking line drives the point home: the title marks its bearer as humanity’s destroyer, not its saviour.
The show is produced by Avatar Studios and Nickelodeon Animation Studio as a 2D-animated series across 26 episodes, split into two books in keeping with the franchise’s tradition.
Meet Pavi — and the Twin Who Could Change Everything
The new Avatar is Pavi, a young dark-skinned Earthbender voiced by Saheli Khan, living in the sandy, windswept city of Allura. She walks with a wooden prosthetic in place of her left leg — a quietly significant design choice from character designer Sara Kipin — and carries a cautious, guarded personality that sets her apart from the brash Korra.
Early in the story, Pavi discovers she has a long-lost twin sister named Nisha (Aishu Devan), who is aggressive and outgoing where Pavi is measured. The twist: both sisters can bend all four elements. Both believe they are the true Avatar. That central conflict — two people with equal claim to the most powerful role in the world — gives Seven Havens a premise that no prior Avatar series has attempted, and the trailer hints at it without spelling everything out.
Korra’s Shadow Looms Over the New Story
Korra is not entirely absent from the teaser. A brief flashback shows her in the Avatar State — the white-glowing-eyes moment that the franchise has always used for its most pivotal scenes — offering a glimpse at what may have preceded the world’s collapse. Whether Janet Varney will return to voice the character beyond the teaser footage has not been confirmed by Paramount or Avatar Studios.
The Creators Who Built the Original Are Back
Perhaps the single biggest signal that Seven Havens is worth taking seriously: it is created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the duo behind both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. After their well-publicised departure from the Netflix live-action adaptation, their return to the animated medium — and to the universe they built — is the news many fans were waiting for before committing to a new entry.
Completing the reunion is composer Jeremy Zuckerman, whose scores for both the original series and Korra became as iconic as the shows themselves. The full voice cast also includes Akshay Khanna as Karthik, Major Curda as Jae (an airbender who serves as Pavi’s mentor), Sakina Jaffrey as Agam, Darren Barnet as Daemin, Dianne Doan as Zi, and Dee Bradley Baker voicing both Geet and Ruhi — Baker previously brought Appa and Momo to life in the original series, and Geet, Pavi’s cat-monkey companion, looks to continue that tradition of memorable animated animals.

All 26 episodes of Avatar: Seven Havens will drop simultaneously on Paramount+ on October 9, 2026 — no weekly releases, no waiting between books. For fans in the US, Australia, or Canada, it will be a full-season binge from day one.
For Singapore viewers, the picture is less clear. Paramount+ does not currently operate in Singapore or Southeast Asia, and regional streaming rights for Seven Havens have not been announced. Previous Avatar content has found its way to Southeast Asian platforms over time — Singapore fans should watch for regional distribution news closer to launch.
