Pocketpair’s creature-collecting survival hit Palworld exits Early Access on 10 July 2026 — nearly two and a half years after its explosive January 2024 debut. The 1.0 update lands simultaneously on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass. For anyone who already owns the game on PC or Xbox, the entire update is a free download.

What’s New in Palworld 1.0

The scale of this update is difficult to overstate. Pocketpair confirmed that the 1.0 patch notes run to 27 PDF pages, and the centrepiece is the World Tree region — a brand-new island that roughly doubles the size of the explorable map. It brings new Pals to catch and train, expanded story beats, additional lore, and a proper narrative thread that draws the game’s world together.

Beyond the new landmass, 1.0 adds:

  • Genetic Recombination — a new breeding system allowing players to combine traits across Pals in ways Early Access never permitted
  • Full PvP mode — competitive player-versus-player, available across all platforms at launch
  • Server Clustering for dedicated servers, a major quality-of-life addition for community-hosted worlds
  • New Pals, a reworked progression system, and a deeper endgame

PS5 Day One — Palworld’s Biggest New Audience

For PlayStation players, 10 July is Day One. Palworld has lived on PC and Xbox since launch, and the PS5 version debuts with full 1.0 content from the start — no Early Access catch-up period. Singapore players can grab it from the PlayStation Store when it goes live; SGD pricing for the PS5 version was not announced at the time of writing, so check the store directly on launch day.

On PC, Palworld is available on Steam with USD $29.99 as the standard 1.0 price (regional Steam pricing applies, so the SGD amount will differ). Xbox and PC Game Pass subscribers get access as part of their existing subscription at no extra cost.

If you already own Palworld on Steam or Xbox, 1.0 arrives as a free update — no separate purchase needed. Pocketpair confirmed the release during Summer Game Fest 2026, where the team also dropped the first full cinematic trailer. The sheer scale of that changelog is a fair signal of how much has changed since Early Access began in January 2024.

The game of tag is back on. The Elusive Samurai Season 2 has a locked premiere date of 17 July 2026, with Crunchyroll confirmed as the streaming home outside Japan. The date was announced at Anime Expo 2026 alongside a brand-new special trailer — the clearest look yet at what Tokiyuki and his unlikely band of allies face next, and great news for Singapore fans with a Crunchyroll subscription.

Tokiyuki’s Story, and Why You Should Be Watching

The Elusive Samurai (逃げ上手の若君 / Nigejozu no Wakagimi) comes from Yusei Matsui — the creator of Assassination Classroom — and was adapted by CloverWorks for its first season in 2024. The premise is deceptively simple: young Hojo Tokiyuki is the legitimate heir to the Kamakura shogunate, but after a coup wipes out his family in 1333, he has exactly zero conventional fighting ability to fall back on. His one supernatural gift is evasion — he is, as the title puts it, extraordinarily good at running away. His eccentric retainer Suwa Yorishige (voiced by Yuichi Nakamura) believes the boy is destined to one day rule Japan, and gathers a band of equally unusual warriors to keep him alive long enough to prove it.

What made Season 1 stand out was how deftly it balanced its comedic DNA with real historical stakes. This is a Shonen Jump adaptation that actually cares about its period setting — the 14th-century political upheaval forms a genuine backdrop rather than wallpaper. Season 2 picks up the resistance story and, judging from the new trailer, turns up the intensity considerably.

Opening Theme: “Onigoto” by Kento Nakajima

The Season 2 opening theme is “Onigoto” (鬼ごと — literally, “a game of demons” or “a game of tag with demons”), performed by Japanese actor and singer Kento Nakajima. The track gets a preview in the special trailer, and it fits the series well: propulsive, with a theatrical edge that matches Tokiyuki’s chaotic, high-speed escapes through feudal Japan. Yusei Matsui’s stories have always had a knack for pairing kinetic action with music that adds emotional texture, and “Onigoto” looks set to continue that tradition.

Director Yuta Yamazaki returns for Season 2 at CloverWorks, keeping the visual identity and comedic timing intact. The full core cast is back:

JoJo fans, mark your calendars: Steel Ball Run’s 2nd Stage launches on Netflix on 25 September 2026, with new episodes dropping every Friday. The date was locked in at an Anime Expo 2026 panel at the Crypto.com Arena on 3 July, where a brand-new trailer dropped and composer Yugo Kanno performed live — the biggest Steel Ball Run news since Stage 1’s 47-minute premiere special back in March.

The 2nd Stage sends Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli into one of the race’s most brutal stretches: nearly 750 miles across the Arizona Desert through a region locals call the “Devil’s Palm,” where racers have been found dead under unexplained circumstances. The trailer preview revealed looks at Hot Pants and Mountain Tim, two fan-favourite additions who take on significant roles from here, as well as a first glimpse at the growing menace of President Funny Valentine.

Eleven episodes will cover Stage 2 and Stage 3 of the Steel Ball Run race combined, meaning the adaptation moves through a significant chunk of Hirohiko Araki’s manga at a tight but purposeful pace.

JoJo Fridays Return — and the Production Team Behind Them

The weekly Friday release schedule — “JoJo Fridays” — is back for the first time since Golden Wind. For Singapore JoJo communities that ran Friday watch parties during the Golden Wind run, this is a proper homecoming. Directors Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi (who helmed Golden Wind) are returning, as is composer Yugo Kanno, who gave both Golden Wind and Stone Ocean their sonic identity. English dub voice actors Daman Mills (Johnny Joestar) and Kaiji Tang (Gyro Zeppeli) also appeared at the panel.

Steel Ball Run is consistently ranked by fans as the peak of Araki’s writing — a race across 19th-century America that gradually reveals itself as one of the most emotionally ambitious stories in the franchise. The confirmed date and weekly cadence mean Singapore fans can now plan around it properly.

The wait is over. Hiromu Arakawa’s Yomi no Tsugai — known internationally as Daemons of the Shadow Realm — launches its second cour tonight, with episode 13 airing in Japan on 4 July at 11:30pm JST and streaming on Crunchyroll in Singapore shortly after. If you’ve been sleeping on one of Spring 2026’s most talked-about shonen anime, this is the best possible moment to catch up.

What Arakawa Has Built Since Fullmetal Alchemist

Hiromu Arakawa needs little introduction to Singapore anime fans. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood remains one of the most beloved anime productions ever made, and Arakawa-sensei has been busy since: Yomi no Tsugai (黄泉のツガイ) has been serialised in Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen GanGan since 2021. The anime adaptation — announced in July 2025 and premiering on 4 April 2026 — has been worth every year of the wait.

The story follows twins Yuru and Asa, raised apart in an isolated mountain village that appears, at first, to exist in feudal-era Japan. Yuru is a skilled hunter; Asa has been confined indoors since childhood, assigned a mysterious duty by the village elders. When armed attackers descend hunting specifically for Yuru and kill the village adults, the siblings are forced to flee — whereupon the outside world reveals itself as entirely modern: helicopters, firearms, mobile phones, contemporary cities. The village’s isolation was deliberate, concealing both the twins and the ancient supernatural creatures they’re bonded with: the Daemons of the title. Cour 2’s key visual — stamped with the phrase “Defy your fate.” — suggests the reckoning with that hidden truth is about to arrive.

The Bones Film Team That Made Brotherhood

The production pedigree here is exceptional. Bones Film handles animation — the studio behind FMA: Brotherhood, My Hero Academia, and Soul Eater. Director Masahiro Ando worked on both the original 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist series and Brotherhood. Character design is by Nobuhiro Arai, who was part of the Brotherhood animation team. Series composition belongs to Noboru Takagi, whose credits include Attack on Titan, Golden Kamuy, and Kuroko’s Basketball. Music is composed by Kenichiro Suehiro (Vinland Saga, Chainsaw Man).

Voice cast highlights: Kensho Ono as Yuru, Yume Miyamoto as Asa, Misaki Kuno as the daemon Gabby, and Rikiya Koyama as Migi. An English dub launched simultaneously with the first cour on Crunchyroll.

New Themes Signal a Tonal Shift

Cour 2 arrives with a new pair of theme songs. “Back Shot” by Masanori Otoda takes over the opening slot from Vaundy’s Tobu Toki, and Kei Sugawara’s “Kujaku” (Peacock) closes episodes in place of Yama’s Tobō yo. Both were previewed in the Cour 2 main PV released on 27 June — and if the track choices are any indication, the back half of the season is going darker and harder than the first.

How to Watch Daemons of the Shadow Realm in Singapore

Crunchyroll is the streaming home for Singapore and Southeast Asia, with Muse Communication holding the regional licence. The full first cour — all 12 episodes — is available now in both Japanese with English subtitles and English dub. Episode 13 lands shortly after the Japanese broadcast on the night of 4 July JST, putting Singapore fans only hours behind Japan each week.

Elsewhere, Netflix begins streaming the series for subscribers outside Asia from 4 July, bringing the anime to a much wider global audience. Pokémon’s 30th anniversary has delivered some standout merchandise, but nothing lands quite like this: Casio has teamed up with The Pokémon Company to release the GA-110PKM-7A, the first full-sized G-SHOCK ever to carry the Pokémon name. Singapore fans can get one from the official G-SHOCK Singapore store from 25 July 2026 at S$299 — with quantities capped at one unit per CASIO-ID member.

The GA-110 Platform — A First for Pokémon

Every previous Pokémon-branded Casio watch was built on the compact Baby-G line. The GA-110PKM-7A makes history by moving the franchise up to the much larger GA-110 base — G-SHOCK’s bold, imposing platform that collectors and streetwear fans will recognise instantly. On the GA-110, the Pokémon collaboration has room to show off in a way no earlier Casio tie-up has managed.

The colour palette is a direct tribute to the 1996 originals. Red, green, and blue — pulled straight from Pocket Monsters Red, Pocket Monsters Green, and Pocket Monsters Blue — run through the buttons, bezel, and accents against a translucent resin case that keeps the look clean.

Every Pokémon Detail, Decoded

The dial is where the collaboration really shows off. The analogue hands are shaped like Pikachu’s silhouette, meaning the time is literally told by the franchise’s mascot. At the 9 o’clock position, a sub-dial inspired by a Poké Ball rounds off the face design, with the Pokémon logo printed alongside.

The translucent resin band is engraved with all 30 Pokémon the watch is celebrating: three first-partner Pokémon from each of the nine main-series regions (Kanto through Paldea), plus Pikachu and Eevee. Mew appears on the band loop itself, bringing the total to exactly 30. Flip the watch over and the stainless-steel case back carries an engraved Pokémon logo and a Pikachu face — a detail collectors will appreciate long after the first unboxing.

The Poké Ball Box

Casio saved some of the best design work for the packaging. The GA-110PKM-7A ships inside a Poké Ball-shaped box — a full-sized round casing that opens to reveal the watch nestled in the bottom half, surrounded by illustrations of all 30 Pokémon from the band. It is the kind of unboxing experience that turns any watch into a permanent display piece.

Creators Super Fest 2026 is eight days away and the full stage schedule for Suntec Singapore is now out — here is everything you need to plan your visit to Halls 403–405 on 11 and 12 July.

Two Days of Music, Art, and Cosplay at Suntec

Organised by SOZO Pte Ltd in partnership with Anime Festival Asia, Creators Super Fest 2026 brings together live stage performances, guest art exhibitions, over 140 artist tables, workshops, and a full cosplay hub under one roof. Doors open at 10am and close at 7pm on both days. The venue — Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, Halls 403–405 — is a three-minute walk from Esplanade MRT (Circle Line CC3).

Rie fu closes Sunday’s stage — the Japanese singer-songwriter behind Life is Like a Boat (Bleach OP) and Tsukiakari (Darker than Black OP). She relocated to Singapore in 2025, making CSF 2026 a genuine homecoming for long-time fans who have followed her since the mid-2000s anime era.

ATLUS West has dropped a Protagonist Sizzle for Persona 4 Revival, giving fans their clearest look yet at the lead character heading into the game’s February 18, 2027 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Introducing the Persona 4 Revival Protagonist

The protagonist is a second-year high school student who, due to unspecified circumstances with his parents, is sent to live in Inaba — the quiet rural town that sits at the heart of Persona 4’s mystery. The premise is familiar to anyone who played the original 2008 JRPG, but the revival treatment is bringing it forward in every department: new visuals, expanded systems, and a full English voice cast.

In English, the Protagonist is voiced by Nazeeh Tarsha, a rising name in the VA world best known to anime fans from recent streaming productions. The Japanese voice is handled by Daisuke Namikawa, a veteran who has voiced Yusuke Kitagawa in Persona 5 and dozens of major anime roles over the years.

The Gold Standard Returns — What Makes P4R Different

Persona 4 Golden (the previous enhanced version of P4) is routinely cited by JRPG fans in Singapore as one of the best portable RPGs ever made. The Revival treatment, following what Persona 5 Royal did for P5, suggests ATLUS is applying the same philosophy: take a game that was already beloved and rebuild it with meaningfully improved combat, expanded Social Links, new story content, and an engine upgrade that matches the visual quality fans have come to expect from the studio.

The yellow palette, the TV World dungeon aesthetic, and the Investigation Team are all intact — and from the combat footage in the Protagonist Sizzle, the revamped battle system looks snappy and modern. Singapore Players: Platforms, Game Pass and What We Know

Persona 4 Revival launches February 18, 2027 on:

  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X|S (and available via Game Pass — Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox on PC)
  • PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store

All three routes are available to Singapore players. The Game Pass inclusion is notable — it means Xbox subscribers here can play at no extra cost on day one, which was a significant uplift for Persona 5 Royal when that came to Game Pass. SGD pricing for the standalone PS5 and Steam editions has not been confirmed yet; expect that closer to launch.

With eight months still to go before release, ATLUS is clearly running a slow-burn character reveal campaign — the Protagonist Sizzle is presumably the first of several character spotlights. How to Unlock Yveltal for Free in Pokémon UNITE

A limited license event starting today lets you earn Yveltal’s Unite License by completing in-game missions — no spending required. Yveltal is an Attacker focused on long-range damage output; the official Pokémon UNITE Asia website describes it as “particularly strong at dealing damage to opponents from afar,” making it a solid pick for teams that need sustained ranged pressure. The event window is time-limited, so claim it while the missions are live.

Four Legendary Pokémon Through August

Yveltal is just the first. The anniversary roster expansion runs across the whole summer, with each Legendary arriving with its own free-license event:

  • Yveltal (Attacker) — event from July 3
  • Palkia (All-Rounder) — July 17
  • Reshiram (Attacker) — August 7
  • Solgaleo (All-Rounder) — August 21

Each Pokemon arrives with its own standalone event, so the free-license windows are spread across two months. Miss one though and you would need to wait for a rerun — or buy the license outright.

The main anniversary celebration officially kicks off on July 21 — UNITE’s actual fifth birthday — and extends through September 9 for login bonuses. Here is what is available:

  • Cumulative Login Missions (July 1–August 31): log in for any 10 days total to collect stacking prizes
