LEGO Party Switch 2 Edition Is Live — Free Upgrade and Public Lobbies in Update 1.6

The party has a new venue. LEGO Party has shadowdropped onto Nintendo Switch 2, bringing enhanced resolution and improved frame rate to the brick-building multiplayer game — and if you already own it on the original Switch, you get the upgrade completely free.

LEGO Party Switch 2 — What’s Different

The Switch 2 version of LEGO Party arrives alongside Update 1.6, and the technical improvements are meaningful for a party game. The game now runs at higher frame rates and sharper visuals compared to the original Switch release, making the colourful minigame chaos look and feel noticeably cleaner on the new hardware.

For owners of the original Switch version, the Switch 2 upgrade is free — no separate purchase required. The game also remains fully playable on the original Switch, so there’s no compatibility split between friends on different hardware.

Update 1.6 — Public Lobbies, New Modes and More Minifigures

Update 1.6 is the biggest content drop LEGO Party has received, and it addresses the most-requested feature since launch: you can now host or join public online games with players from around the world. Previously limited to private sessions, the addition of public lobbies opens up LEGO Party’s Challenge Zone and Minigame Rush playlists to a global player pool.

Beyond online play, the update also delivers:

  • Four new Challenge Zone game modes — expanding the rotation significantly beyond the launch lineup
  • Advanced Game Rules — options like Multi-Brick Purchase let you customise how a session plays out
  • Series 29 Minifigures — new LEGO character additions for play and customisation

Getting LEGO Party on Switch 2 in Singapore

LEGO Party is developed by SMG Studio and published by Fictions, available on the Singapore Nintendo eShop. New players can pick up the title from the Nintendo eShop Singapore — the US price sits at USD$39.99, though local SGD pricing may vary.
