Bandai Namco’s Super Robot Wars 35th Anniversary Stream delivered its headline moment last night: Super Robot Wars ZII: Ruination Remastered is confirmed and in development, with producer Kota Toma announcing it will release worldwide — including an English localisation. This marks the first time this 2011 PSP classic has ever received an official Western release. Platforms and a release date remain to be confirmed.

What Is Super Robot Wars ZII: Ruination Remastered?
The original Dai-2-ji Super Robot Taisen Z: Hakai-hen (第2次スーパーロボット大戦Z 破界篇) launched on PSP in April 2011 and was never localised outside Japan. It is the first of two chapters in the Z2 arc — “Hakai-hen” translates roughly as “World-Breaking Chapter” — with its continuation, Saisei-hen, following later that same year. No remaster of Saisei-hen has been announced alongside this.
As reported by RPGSite, producer Toma confirmed the team will “release this remaster worldwide with localisations in multiple languages, including English.” HD battle animations and UI improvements are expected, though the full feature list has not been detailed. The series lineup from the original PSP game includes:
- Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
- Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
- Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (1st Season)
- Armored Trooper Votoms
- Macross Frontier: The False Songstress
- Eureka Seven: Good Night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers
- Mazinger Edition Z: The Impact!
- Terrestrial Defense Corporation Dai-Guard
These were all present in the original 2011 release — the significance for Singapore and Western players is simply that this is the first time any of it will be legally playable in English.
SRW Y Anniversary Expansion Pack Arrives August 5
The same stream confirmed a second paid DLC drop for Super Robot Wars Y: the Anniversary Expansion Pack lands on August 5, 2026 on PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam). Pricing has not yet been confirmed, but the content pack includes:
- 33 new Area Missions
- 12 new weapons
- 5 new playable units
- 1 new Assist Crew member
- Anniversary Expansion Pack Purchase Bonus mission
Alongside the paid pack, a free Version 1.4.0 update drops on August 4 for all SRW Y owners, adding a new BOOST game mode, a 20 Million Sales Commemoration Mission, a 35th Anniversary Commemoration Mission, and an unlocked pilot level cap. SRW Y is available on the Singapore PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop, so local players can grab both the free update and the DLC from day one.

Note: the Anniversary Expansion Pack is separate from the first Expansion Pack (which added Ideon, Hi-Nu Gundam, Cross Ange, and others and launched in April 2026 at USD $29.99 on Steam).
