Girls und Panzer das Finale Part 5 Rolls Into Theatres 9 October — Oarai vs St. Gloriana Finals

The penultimate chapter of the six-part Girls und Panzer das Finale rolls into Japanese theatres on 9 October 2026 (Friday), and the stakes could not be higher. Part 5 pits Oarai Girls’ High School against St. Gloriana Girls’ College in what the production team has been building towards across the entire final arc — a showdown between two of the franchise’s most beloved schools.

Oarai vs St. Gloriana in Yokohama

Part 5 of 6 sets the decisive engagement in Yokohama, where Miho Nishizumi leads her motley Oarai crew against the measured, tradition-steeped St. Gloriana Girls’ College. Darjeeling’s Churchill-equipped outfit is methodical and disciplined — a sharp contrast to Oarai’s improvised, heart-first approach that has somehow seen them past far-more-decorated rivals throughout das Finale.

Director Tsutomu Mizushima and studio Actas have spent four chapters setting up this confrontation, and the new theatrical trailer suggests Part 5 will be the franchise’s most spectacular tank combat yet. Long-running subplots and character arcs look set to pay off in a single feature-length battle sequence.

Dolby Cinema Debuts for the Franchise

Part 5 marks the franchise’s first-ever Dolby Cinema screening — alongside Dolby Atmos, 4DX, and MX4D.

For the first time in the Girls und Panzer franchise, Part 5 will screen in Dolby Cinema — a series first that upgrades the visual and audio presentation alongside the already-confirmed Dolby Atmos, 4DX, and MX4D formats. If you’ve ever wanted to feel every tank engine rumble and cannon blast from your seat, Part 5 is the chapter to do it.

Companion Spinoff Heads to TV

In related news, the cheerful companion spinoff Girls und Panzer: Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu! — which played as a four-part theatrical release from December 2025 through April 2026 — is headed for a TV broadcast in October 2026 in Japan. A fresh promotional video for the broadcast run was released on 1 August 2026, giving fans who missed the theatrical run a new look at the lighthearted side of the GuP universe.

The series is directed by Masami Shimoda at P.A. Works and Actas, adapting the manga by Maruko Nii. It makes for a neat double feature of GuP content arriving this October in Japan.

Singapore Fans

No Singapore theatrical date has been confirmed at time of writing. Given the franchise’s consistent following here, an import screening or streaming announcement closer to the holiday season would be worth watching for — we’ll update this post if one is announced.
