Dice Tavern: Farkle Roguelike Is Out on Steam — 20% Off at Launch

Singapore gamers who love their roguelikes and a good roll of the dice have a new one to try: Dice Tavern: Farkle Roguelike, developed by Cavi Studio and published by Japanese publisher HARRISONWORLD, landed on Steam on 7 September 2026 — and it’s 20% off until 21 September.

What Is Farkle — And Why It Works as a Roguelike?

If Farkle is new to you: it’s a classic dice-pressing game where you roll six dice, set aside scoring combinations, and decide whether to bank your points or keep rolling for more. Push your luck too far and score nothing — a “Farkle” wipes your turn. It’s the kind of game that’s dead simple to learn but gets under your skin fast.

Dice Tavern takes that core loop and wraps a full roguelike progression around it. Instead of playing at a kitchen table, you’re working your way through six medieval taverns — from a humble village inn all the way up to the King’s throne room — facing off against 30 opponents with escalating target scores (from 3,500 points at the start to a crushing 500,000 at the end).

35 Dice, 43 Synergies — Build Your Roll

The roguelike meat is in the dice collection. Dice Tavern has 35 unique dice, each with its own abilities, and 43 synergies that unlock when you combine specific dice. A standard Farkle die works fine; a modified die that gives a score multiplier on triples is another thing entirely. You can also apply weights and stickers to tweak dice in mid-run, reshaping probabilities on the fly.

Multiple playable characters add another layer — each one bends the rules of Farkle differently, so two runs through the same tavern can feel quite distinct. Once you’ve beaten the campaign, progressive “Decree” challenges stack restrictions across 15 escalating levels, and puzzle-based Endgame scenarios give you a predetermined set of dice and ask you to solve your way to a score. It’s a solid package of post-game content for the price.

The Six Tavern Challenge

Each of the six taverns escalates not just the target score but the opponent roster and rule modifiers. Earlier stages let you get comfortable with the loop; later ones introduce rule-bending opponents that will punish greedy play hard. The progression pacing feels deliberate — you never face the 500,000-point ceiling without having earned the tools to attempt it.

On Steam Now, 20% Off Until 21 September

Dice Tavern: Farkle Roguelike is available now on Steam for $9.99 USD (around SGD 13), with the launch discount bringing it to $7.99 USD (roughly SGD 10.50) until 21 September. It’s single-player only, supports Steam Achievements (63 of them), and includes Steam Cloud saves. Controller support is partial.

One note worth flagging: the Steam page discloses that some textures and 3D models used AI-assisted procedural rendering during development — worth knowing if that’s a factor in your purchase decision.

If you’ve been looking for a low-barrier roguelike to pick up between bigger releases this September, Dice Tavern’s dice-pressing loop is a genuinely different flavour from the usual card-based fare. Find it on Steam and check our Game News section for more launches this week.
