Singapore’s FFXIV players, your 13th anniversary gift from Square Enix is ready to claim. The Rising 2026 — the game’s beloved annual event — went live today, 27 August, and runs through 10 September 2026. Whether you are a fresh Sprout or a veteran of every anniversary, there is a new exclusive minion waiting with your name on it.

How to Start FFXIV The Rising 2026
The event quest is titled “The Symphony of Life.” To begin, speak to the Wandering Minstrel in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks at X:11.0, Y:12.8. Any combat job at level 15 or above can participate — making this one of FFXIV’s most accessible seasonal events. You don’t need to have cleared the main scenario or any expansion to take part.
The quest’s story hook: “The wandering minstrel is concerned for a visitor to Vylbrand.” As is tradition with The Rising, Square Enix keeps the narrative details under wraps before launch — every year’s event weaves in a heartfelt message from the development team to the community, and it lands best unspoiled.

Rising 2026 Rewards: Wind-up Wuk Lamat and More
Complete the event quest to earn the Wind-up Wuk Lamat minion — a miniature version of the beloved Dawntrail heroine, available only during the Rising 2026 event window. You will also unlock the “Thankful Thirteen” achievement, marking FFXIV’s 13th anniversary.
A Rising Vendor sets up at Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X:11.7, Y:13.6) with purchasable items from this year and previous Rising events:

The Rising MMXXIV Advertisement (wall furnishing)
Matoya’s Cave (Modulation) Orchestrion Roll
Eternal Wind (Modulation) Orchestrion Roll
To Zanarkand (Modulation) Orchestrion Roll
Missed items from previous years’ Rising vendors? They are still available at the same stall — a good window to fill any gaps in your collection.

Event Dates and Availability for Singapore
The Rising 2026 runs from 27 August (today) through 10 September 2026 at 7:59 a.m. PDT — that is 22:59 SGT on 10 September. The event is global and region-unlocked: players on the Elemental and Materia data centres have identical access to all quests and rewards at the same time as NA and EU. No separate SEA launch or delay applies.
FFXIV’s annual summer festival is back — Moonfire Faire 2026 runs from Tuesday, 12 August to Wednesday, 26 August, and this year’s headline reward is one of the game’s most adorable mounts yet: the Inflatable Mograft, a giant Moogle-shaped pool float you can actually ride. Here is everything you need to know before the event goes live.
What Is FFXIV Moonfire Faire 2026?
Moonfire Faire is FFXIV’s recurring summer seasonal event, set at the sun-soaked shores of Costa del Sol in La Noscea. This year’s theme is “Summer Blues? Ride a Pleasure Cruise!” — a celebration of beach life and water activities, with limited-time rewards you can only earn during the event window. Miss it and you’ll need to wait for items to appear on the FFXIV Online Store after the event closes.
Moonfire Faire 2026 Start Date, End Date, and Access Requirements
The event runs from 12 August 2026 (Tuesday) through 26 August 2026 (Wednesday). For Singapore players it launches in the early morning of 12 August SGT and wraps up on the evening of 26 August SGT.
You need a character of at least Level 30 to participate. Free Trial players on any platform — including the newly launched Switch 2 version — can access Moonfire Faire as long as they have met that level threshold. Note that free trial accounts have some restrictions on group content and in-game chat, but the seasonal quests themselves should be accessible.
How to Start the Moonfire Faire 2026 Quests
Head to Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks and find a Lalafell NPC called Mayaru Moyaru at coordinates X:11.5, Y:13.8. She hands out the first quest, “Earning Your Water Wings”, which takes around 30 minutes to clear. A second quest, “Whoever Floats Your Raft”, becomes available once you’ve finished the first. Both are short narrative quests with no gear or combat wall beyond the level requirement.
All Moonfire Faire 2026 Rewards
This year’s limited-time haul includes a new mount and a full set of summer furnishings:
Inflatable Mograft (Mount) — the standout new reward, a giant Moogle-shaped inflatable raft
Lawn Mograft (Outdoor furnishing)
Lawn Chocobo Raft (Outdoor furnishing)
Lawn Bomb Raft (Outdoor furnishing)

Past glamours and emotes from previous Moonfire Faire events are not available from the in-event vendor — those items are sold separately on the FFXIV Online Store after the event ends.

What Switch 2 Players Need to Know
FFXIV launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on 4 August 2026, meaning Moonfire Faire 2026 is the first FFXIV seasonal event playable on Switch 2. If you have been holding off on picking up the game on Switch 2, timing is in your favour: Square Enix has the Complete Edition 30% off on the Nintendo eShop until 13 August 2026 — one day after the event starts, so you can dive straight into the summer festivities.
A few Switch 2-specific points:
A Nintendo Switch Online subscription is not required — FFXIV uses its own subscription, paid via FFXIV Coins on the eShop
Players who already subscribe on PC or PS5 get the Switch 2 subscription at 50% off
The Free Trial is available on Switch 2 and covers all content through Shadowbringers, with no time limit
Final Fantasy XIV is officially playable on Nintendo Switch 2. Square Enix launched all four editions on 4 August 2026, and the Free Trial dropped alongside them — meaning you can jump into Eorzea on a Switch 2 right now at zero cost. If you have been sitting on the fence, there is also a time-sensitive reason to act: both Complete Editions are 30% off on the Nintendo eShop until Thursday, 13 August.

What the Free Trial Covers
The Switch 2 Free Trial mirrors what PC and PlayStation players have enjoyed for years: A Realm Reborn plus the first expansion, Heavensward, with a level cap of 60 and no time limit on how long you play. That is roughly 100-plus hours of story content, all fourteen job archetypes to experiment with, and full access to dungeons and trials included in those expansions — with no credit card required.
For Singapore players who have wanted to see what the fuss is about without spending anything, the Switch 2 version is as good an entry point as any. Singapore sits in the Asia data centre region (Elemental Data Centre), which consistently gives local players excellent latency whether they are at home on fibre or hopping on a MRT commute in handheld mode.

Editions and the Sale Window
Four product options are available on the Nintendo eShop right now:
Free Trial — A Realm Reborn + Heavensward, Level 60 cap, no subscription needed
Starter Edition — Adds a subscription-ready base game (A Realm Reborn through Shadowbringers)
Complete Edition — Everything through the current Dawntrail expansion, 30% off until 13 August
Complete Collector’s Edition — All collector’s items across every expansion, also 30% off until 13 August
The discount applies only to the two Complete Editions and runs until 13 August. We covered the full edition breakdown and 117 GB download size before launch — the TLDR for SG players on home fibre: with average speeds well above 500 Mbps, the download typically takes under an hour.

The Subscription — What Singapore Players Need to Know
FFXIV’s subscription on Switch 2 works a little differently from what you might expect. A few key points:
Subscription fees are waived for approximately one month following the platform’s release, giving everyone a head start.
A separate Switch 2 subscription is required, even if you are already subscribed on PC or PlayStation. It is not a cross-platform licence.
Existing subscribers get it at half price. If you pay the standard monthly fee on another platform, you can add the Switch 2 version for 50% of that rate — so playing on both your PC and Switch 2 does not mean paying twice in full.
A Nintendo Switch Online membership gives you one complimentary aetheryte teleport destination at 0 gil — a small perk but handy for managing travel costs early on.
The free month of play starts when you first activate the game, so there is no rush to log in on day one — though the Yo-kai Watch event running alongside the launch is worth catching sooner rather than later.

Playing on the Go in Singapore
The Switch 2 version supports handheld, tabletop, and docked modes. Raid and trial content is fully playable in all modes, though a stable Wi-Fi connection is still recommended for multiplayer content — the Nintendo Online app can supplement with voice chat for coordination. Singapore’s widespread fibre and 5G coverage makes the Switch 2 a genuinely viable way to join Free Companies and run daily roulettes during lunch, on the bus, or wherever life takes you.

The free trial is available on the Nintendo eShop now. For more on the Singapore gaming landscape, check our Game News archive.
The Yo-kai Watch crossover returns to Final Fantasy XIV Online on 4 August 2026 — and in neat timing, that’s the exact same day FFXIV launches on Nintendo Switch 2. “Yo-kai Watch: Gather One, Gather All!” runs until 5 October 2026 and adds four new items on top of the full returning roster from previous events.

FFXIV Yo-kai Watch 2026 event start time in Singapore
The event goes live on Tuesday, 4 August at 4:00 PM SGT and closes on Monday, 5 October at 10:59 PM SGT — a nine-week window. To get started, head to Ul’dah, Steps of Nald (X:9.2, Y:9.1) and talk to the Poor-heeled Youth. Your character must be level 15 or above and must have cleared one of the three early main scenario quests — “The Gridanian Envoy,” “The Lominsan Envoy,” or “The Ul’dahn Envoy.” If you’ve been playing long enough to leave the starting city, you almost certainly qualify.

New items added for the 2026 event
This is the fifth return of the crossover, and Square Enix has added four items that have never been available before:
Wibby-Wobbly Jibanyan furnishing
Wibby-Wobbly Komasan furnishing
Wibby-Wobbly USApyon furnishing
Yo-kai Watch Framer’s Kit (a housing item for displaying Yo-kai artwork in your in-game home)
The three new furnishings are not dropped — you have to earn them. Collect all 17 Yo-kai minions first, then head to Nohi at the Manderville Gold Saucer (X:5.2, Y:6.9) and purchase them using Manderville Gold Saucer Points. If you already completed the full minion set in a previous event, you can skip straight to buying.
All 17 Yo-kai minions and the Whisper-go mount
The full roster of Yo-kai minions returning in 2026: Blizzaria, Damona, Hovernyan, Jibanyan, Komajiro, Komasan, Kyubi, Lord Ananta, Lord Enma, Manjimutt, Noko, Robonyan F-type, Shogunyan, USApyon, Venoct, Whisper, and Zazel. Each is obtained by accumulating their specific Yo-kai Medals from enemies in designated zones while wearing your Yo-kai Medallium.
Collect medals for at least 13 different minions to unlock the Whisper-go mount — an oversized rideable Whisper that remains one of the more charming mounts in FFXIV’s library. All 17 Yo-kai Weapons also return, themed to each minion. And if you’ve been holding Yo-kai Medals from the 2016, 2017, 2020, or 2024 events, they’re all valid in 2026, per the official Lodestone event page.

A good entry point for Switch 2 day-one players
For FFXIV players in Singapore picking up the Switch 2 version on launch day, the timing works out nicely: reach level 15, finish one of the envoy quests, and the event is right there waiting. That’s a few hours of main story — very achievable on launch weekend. The Switch 2 version launches 4 August with a free trial covering content up to Shadowbringers, so new players don’t even need to buy the full game to jump in. For the full schedule and latest Game News, check back on the blog.
Square Enix confirmed the exact date at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in Berlin on Saturday: FFXIV Online arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on 4 August 2026 — one week away. All editions are live on the Nintendo eShop for pre-order now, a free first month is baked in for every new Switch 2 subscriber, and the download weighs in at a substantial 117 GB. Here is everything Singapore players need to know before launch day. (We covered the initial announcement in June when Square Enix first confirmed the Switch 2 version for August.)

One Month Free, Then a Switch 2-Specific Sub — and 50% Off for Existing Subscribers
From 4 August, FFXIV on Switch 2 runs on a Nintendo Switch 2-specific subscription tier — separate from PC and PS5. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required. The first month is free for all Switch 2 players, giving Square Enix time to stress-test servers under real load before billing begins. After that:
New subscribers pay the full Switch 2 subscription rate once the free month ends.
Players with an active PC or PS5 subscription get a 50% discount on the Switch 2 subscription for as long as their other-platform sub remains active — making portable Eorzea a much softer ask for Singapore players already subbed elsewhere.
117 GB — Sort Your Switch 2 Storage Before Next Sunday
FFXIV on Switch 2 downloads at 117 GB, which will comfortably fill a sizeable chunk of the console’s internal storage. Most Singapore players will want a microSD Express card before launch day — Switch 2’s fast microSD Express slot means transfers stay manageable, and a 256 GB card leaves room for other titles. With a week to go, cards are available at major electronics chains and games retailers. Factor in download time at local ISP speeds too; a 300 Mbps connection handles 117 GB in roughly an hour, but queuing the pre-load the night before is a safer call.
Evercold Arrives January 2027 — Plenty to Do Until Then
The 4 August Switch 2 launch gives players access to the full game through Dawntrail, the current expansion. The next expansion, Evercold, was revealed in full at the same Berlin Fan Fest — it adds the Bastion tank job, sweeping new Realmship zones, and two crossover raid series (Evangelion and FF7 Remake) landing in January 2027. That means Switch 2 newcomers have roughly six months of existing content, raids, and side quests before the expansion drops. For Singapore players who have wanted to try the most-praised MMORPG of the last decade in a portable form, there has never been a better entry window. Check our game news section for all FFXIV and Switch 2 updates as August 4 approaches.
Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P) took the stage at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2026 in Berlin today — and delivered the biggest Evercold information drop yet. The first new job was named, new locations were revealed, two major crossover raids were announced, and the expansion’s release window was locked in. Here’s everything from the keynote.
FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Festival 2026 in Berlin — Day 1 keynote — via FINAL FANTASY XIV on YouTube
The Bastion: FFXIV’s First New Tank Job for Evercold
The headline reveal: the first new job coming to Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold is the Bastion, a main tank wielding a pair of greatshields known as Skyltborg. These aren’t ordinary shields — they transform from close-quarters clawed melee weapons into giant triple-barrelled cannons, giving the Bastion a playstyle that mixes defensive plate-and-shield fantasy with mounted firearms on each arm.
Originating from Aerslaent in the Northern Empty, the Bastion can target allies with defensive and curative boons as well as deal heavy offensive damage. The job starts at level 90, and the unlock quest will be found in Limsa Lominsa. Crucially, the Bastion is tied exclusively to Evercold’s new Evolved Mode combat system — players will need to engage with that system to use it. A second new job (a Physical Ranged DPS) has been confirmed but held back for the Tokyo Fan Fest later this year.

New Locations: Realmships and the Hub City of Falgarthr
Evercold is set in The Fourth Reflection, an ice-covered realm whose inhabitants have fled the spreading frost onto massive airships called Realmships. Two Realmships were shown in the keynote:
Naglfar — the Realmship of Water, featuring wide open fields. Its primary player hub is Falgarthr, a striking white-and-gold city centred around a building shaped like a dragon’s head.
Hringhorni — the Realmship of Fire.
The expansion introduces a non-linear main scenario: players can tackle the three Realmship zones in any order, with their paths reconverging before the story climax. An Auto Content Balancing system will adjust field difficulty to match whichever progression path a player has chosen.
Crossover Raids: Evangelion and Final Fantasy VII Remake
Two major raid crossovers were announced for Evercold:
EVANGELION — Ghosts of Desire: an alliance raid series set in the world of Neon Genesis Evangelion. The trailer (below) confirms EVA-Unit designs and a full alliance-raid structure — this is the most ambitious anime collaboration FFXIV has ever attempted.
Beyond the Lifestream: an 8-player raid series crossing over with the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. No further details were shared, but the name and format are confirmed.
FINAL FANTASY XIV — EVANGELION – Ghosts of Desire reveal trailer — via FINAL FANTASY XIV on YouTube
New Game Systems and Quality-of-Life Changes
Evercold is bringing a raft of structural changes alongside the new content:
New mid-tier raid difficulty — a stepping stone between Normal and Savage, aimed at players who want a challenge without the full commitment of Savage progression.
Action Skins — customisable animations for teleportation and job abilities, launching in patch 8.0. Character Action Skins arriving in 8.1 extend this further.
Character customisation — independent Au Ra horn selection, toggleable cosmetic features for Lalafell, Viera, and Miq’ote, and expanded colour and facial options.
Weekly structure — moving from daily resets to seasonal cycles.
Collector’s Edition — includes the Valhallar Odin mount, the Entreat Crystal emote, and crystal Skyltborg weapons for in-game use.
What Singapore Players Need to Know
For Singapore veterans and newcomers alike, two dates matter most right now. August 4, 2026 is when Final Fantasy XIV arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 — including a free first-month subscription during the launch period, which means local Switch 2 owners can try the full game at no extra cost very shortly. If you have been waiting for an excuse to jump in, that’s it.
The Evercold expansion itself launches in January 2027 across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Patch 7.56 — bringing the first in-game taste of Evercold’s story — drops on September 8, 2026. For players on Singapore’s game news beat, the Berlin keynote confirmed everything fans had been hoping: a genuinely fresh expansion setting, a bold new job, and two of the most anticipated raid crossovers in the game’s history.
The Dawntrail 7.5x patch cycle is about to cross its finish line. FFXIV Patch 7.55 goes live on 28 July 2026, and Square Enix has been sharing development screenshots that confirm the four big pillars of the update: a new field operation zone, the next Field Raid, the last stage of Phantom Weapons, and the closing chapter of Hildibrand’s Dawntrail storyline. For Singapore players who have been grinding through the Patch 7.5 content since the Berlin Fan Festival stream, here is everything dropping next week.
FINAL FANTASY XIV Patch 7.5 – Trail to the Heavens — via FINAL FANTASY XIV on YouTube
Into the North: Occult Crescent Expands with the North Horn
The Occult Crescent field operation zone is pushing into new territory with Patch 7.55. The North Horn — also known as Shades’ Triangle — opens as the latest explorable area, bringing fresh enemies, critical encounters, and engagement opportunities to raise your Knowledge Level. The cap jumps from the previous ceiling up to Knowledge Level 40, so there is progression to chase whether you cleared the earlier areas or are still working through them. Eight new Phantom Jobs also join the roster, adding more build variety to the open-ended Phantom Class system that has been one of Dawntrail’s standout mechanics.
The Forked Tower: Magic — Field Raid Returns with Tweaks
Nestled inside the North Horn, The Forked Tower: Magic is Patch 7.55’s new large-scale Field Raid. Square Enix has acknowledged the mixed community reaction to Forked Tower: Blood — particularly around difficulty tuning and participation requirements — and said that Magic will address those pain points directly. Both a normal and a harder variant will be available from launch. If you bounced off the first Forked Tower run, it is worth giving Magic a fair shot before writing off the format entirely.
Phantom Weapons: The Final Stage
The Phantom Weapon enhancement system — Dawntrail’s take on the beloved relic weapon grind — reaches its final upgrade stage in 7.55. Master blacksmith Gerolt reportedly has premonitions about what lies at the end of the process, which suggests the story wrapping around the system gets a proper resolution rather than just a stat number going up. If you have been chasing your ideal weapon glow across the 7.5x patches, 28 July is when you can finally tick that off the list. Phantom Armour upgrades are also included, so glamour hunters have something to look forward to as well.
Hildibrand’s Dawntrail Finale: Inconceivably Further Adventures Concludes
For many FFXIV veterans, this is the headline. The Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures questline — which has been running since Patch 7.2 — wraps up its Dawntrail chapter in 7.55. The irrepressible Detective Hardiboiled is still on the trail of his nemesis Carnelian, who escaped and is now playing a deeper game. Nashu Mhakaracca is pursuing her own lead. Development screenshots show the story taking the two on separate paths before things converge, which sounds very on-brand for the Hildibrand crew.
Hildibrand quests have been a fan favourite since A Realm Reborn, and each expansion’s take on the character tends to go increasingly off the rails in the best way. If you have been saving Dawntrail’s Hildibrand chain for a binge, 7.55 is your cue: everything will be available on launch day.
Allied Society Questlines Round Off Dawntrail
The Dawntrail Allied Society (formerly Beast Tribe) questlines also get their final extra-story chapters in 7.55. The Tral Travel Company staff take on a new project while adventurers reflect on the relationships built across the continent during the expansion. These tend to be lighter, character-driven episodes rather than action-heavy content, but they provide a satisfying bookend to the time you have invested in the NPCs around Tural.
What Singapore Players Should Know: The Road Ahead
Patch 7.55 is not the end of FFXIV’s current cycle — it is more of a waypoint. Here is the roadmap beyond it:
Patch 7.56 — 8 September 2026: Adds the Beastmaster limited job (teased at Fan Festival Berlin) and the next chapter of the main scenario questline.
Patch 8.0 “Silver Wanderer” — January 2027: The full next expansion, revealed during Fan Festival Berlin.
Crucially for Singapore players: FFXIV launches on Nintendo Switch 2 in August 2026. If you or someone you know is planning to start the game on Switch 2, they will be jumping in right around the 7.55 window — with the Beastmaster job and a new MSQ chapter arriving in September shortly after, and the Silver Wanderer expansion to look forward to in early 2027. It is actually a decent time to start fresh. For veterans already on PC or console, we covered all the Berlin Fan Festival reveals in detail if you want to revisit what is coming in 8.0.
FFXIV Patch 7.55 goes live 28 July 2026. Maintenance timing has not been confirmed yet; the official FFXIV Lodestone will post the schedule closer to the date. Check back there for exact downtime windows. You can also browse more Game News coverage here.
The stage schedule for FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Festival 2026 in Berlin is live, and the headline moment arrives at 4:00 PM SGT on Saturday, 25 July — prime Singapore time. Naoki Yoshida takes the keynote stage to make what Square Enix calls “big announcements,” and the most anticipated reveal is the new Tank job for the Evercold expansion. The venue is sold out, but the entire programme — except the two concert nights — streams free on YouTube and Twitch.
Evercold: What Berlin Is Expected to Reveal
Yoshida unveiled Evercold — FFXIV’s Patch 8.0 expansion — at the Anaheim Fan Fest in April 2026, confirming a world consumed by spreading frost, a level cap rise to 110, two brand-new jobs, a Kefka-themed ultimate raid, and an Evangelion alliance raid. Neither new job has been named or shown yet: the Tank is expected at Berlin, and the Physical Ranged DPS is widely anticipated at the Tokyo Fan Fest in October. For Singapore players, Evercold is targeting a January 2027 launch — plenty of time to catch up on Dawntrail, which is 50% off on the Square Enix Store and Mog Station until 31 July. FFXIV is also arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 in August, so the run-up to Evercold is shaping up to be a big few months.
