After last week’s gut-punch of an episode title, Bleach keeps the pressure on tonight. The official synopsis for Episode 47 says it plainly: “Even Ichigo’s Bankai cannot reach Yhwach.” For a series built around Ichigo unlocking increasingly overwhelming power, seeing his ultimate technique fall flat against the Quincy King lands differently. The preview describes despair clouding his eyes for the first time, while his comrades — battered as they are — refuse to give up hope.

The episode is set to open with Yhwach invoking the Auchwahlen and absorbing Ichigo’s power, a move that strips away everything Ichigo has been building towards in Wahrwelt. Expanded scenes with Tsukishima and Orihime working to repair Ichigo’s Bankai are reportedly included, adding emotional weight to the situation before the main confrontation escalates.

Uryu’s Decisive Moment and Kyoraku’s Return

While Ichigo is pinned down, two other major beats play out. Uryu Ishida — who chose to stand with Yhwach before turning in the final stretch — completes his arc against Jugram Haschwalth, with Isshin and Ryuk lending support. With Haschwalth defeated, Uryu moves to eliminate a massive “distortion” that has appeared beneath Wahrwelt, threatening the three worlds.

Shunsui Kyoraku also rises from the brief slumber he fell into after his own battle, and the episode closes with Yhwach offering a chilling greeting to a certain old foe: “Welcome to my soul society.” If you know your Bleach lore, you know exactly who he is addressing and why that line carries such weight.

Three Episodes Left Until the Bleach Finale

Episode 47 is the seventh of ten episodes in The Calamity, the fourth and final cour of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. The series finale — Episode 50 — is scheduled for September 26, 2026. That means Singapore fans have exactly three more Saturday nights of Bleach ahead before the curtain falls on a story Tite Kubo first published in 2001.

The final arc has been produced by Studio Pierrot at a noticeably elevated level: detailed key animation, sakuga-heavy combat sequences, and expanded scenes that flesh out characters who felt rushed in the manga. Singapore’s BLEACH community, it’s time to dust off your Soul Reaper badge. BLEACH Mirrors High, Bandai Namco Entertainment’s ambitious mobile action RPG set after the Thousand-Year Blood War, officially opened global pre-registration today (29 August) on iOS and Android — and there’s already a milestone reward worth chasing from day one.

What Is BLEACH Mirrors High?

Announced at Anime Expo 2026 in July, BLEACH Mirrors High is a free-to-play mobile action RPG that picks up the BLEACH story after the Thousand-Year Blood War arc. Series creator Tite Kubo has been involved since the very start — personally handling the title, scenario direction, and the design of five brand-new Soul Reapers. This isn’t a licensed cash-grab; it’s as canon-adjacent as a mobile spin-off gets.

You play as a customisable Soul Reaper protagonist, fielding a squad of three in battle. The combat system blends Action Cards, Chain Attacks, and a signature team finisher called Soul Drive — fast, strategic, and very clearly built for the kind of multi-Bankai moments BLEACH fans love.

New Soul Reapers, Written and Designed by Kubo

The two story protagonists are Shirin Migishima (voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi) and Shirane Sanari (voiced by Maria Sashide) — a dual-hero duo that Kubo designed himself. Three supporting new Squad members — Naru Jurinna, Giro Hando, and Maiko Tokishima — round out the fresh cast.

The returning cast is where it gets exciting for long-time fans. Ichigo, Rukia, Renji, Byakuya, Hitsugaya, and Urahara are all present, voiced by their original anime actors. Kubo has described the story as “partly related to the main scenario of the manga” — enough to keep lore fans invested without spoiling whatever is next for the mainline series.

Singapore and Southeast Asia players are fully covered: the game launches with English, Japanese, French, German, Traditional Chinese, and Korean language support. No region lock to worry about.

Bandai Namco will be running a playable demo at Tokyo Game Show 2026 (17–21 September, Makuhari Messe). The Blood Chains Bankai

The promotional visual for Episode 45 finally puts a face to something manga readers have been holding their breath about: Ichigo’s Blood Chains Bankai. The form sees Tensa Zangetsu wrapped in pulsing crimson chains of spiritual pressure — an evolution that appears to fuse Ichigo’s Shinigami and Hollow heritage into something the Soul King himself probably wasn’t expecting.

Based on what the promo material shows, this isn’t just a visual upgrade. The form connects directly to Ichigo’s Horn of Salvation — the Hollow crown fragment that’s been looming as an incomplete power ever since the Hueco Mundo arc. Episode 45 “Defend You” — What We Know

This is Episode 5 of The Calamity arc (Part 4 of TYBW overall), and the title “Defend You” hits different knowing who Ichigo is protecting. The episode picks up the Ichigo vs Yhwach confrontation at Wahr Welt — the Wandenreich’s floating fortress above Soul Society — with stakes that couldn’t be higher.

Episode preview material confirms we’ll see Ichigo deploy Gran Rey Cero fused with Getsuga Tensho — a combination technique that draws on both his Arrancar-level hollow energy and his Shinigami blade instincts simultaneously. It’s the kind of move that only makes sense from someone who stopped trying to keep those two sides of himself separate.

It is the payoff to years of build-up — and because the adult form is a different character in every meaningful way, the creative team brought in a separate voice actor rather than have Romi Park pitch-shift. Twenty-five years after its Weekly Shonen Jump debut, BLEACH has a packed second half of 2026 ahead of it. Shueisha confirmed today that Tite Kubo’s landmark artbook JET is returning as a two-volume expanded edition, a second school-life novel by Ryogo Narita is in the works, an art popularity vote is open now, and a second original art exhibition — BLEACH EX. II — is confirmed for Summer 2027. The announcements land as BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War — The Calamity airs its third episode on Disney+ Singapore, building toward the series’ climactic finish.

BLEACH Artbook JET Returns as Two Expanded Volumes

The original BLEACH Artbook JET, released in December 2018, is being republished as BLEACH Artbook JET 2026 I (304 pages) and BLEACH Artbook JET 2026 II (218 pages), arriving on 2 October 2026. The expanded set collects the more than 700 illustrations from the original JET alongside additional BLEACH and BURN THE WITCH artwork not in the 2018 edition. Shueisha confirmed the same ink and paper stock will be used, so the tactile quality that made the original a collector favourite is preserved.

One thing to note: the BURN THE WITCH mini-comic that shipped as a bonus with the original JET will not be reprinted in the 2026 editions. Singapore-based pricing has not been announced; expect Kinokuniya Singapore and online importers to list them closer to October, typically in the S$60–80 range for a comparable Japanese artbook of this scale.

BLEACH ART SELECTION — Vote for Kubo’s Best Illustration

Running alongside the artbook reissue is BLEACH ART SELECTION, a popularity poll dedicated entirely to individual Kubo illustrations — a first for the franchise. Around 100 artworks drawn from the two new JET volumes are up for vote, with fans allowed one vote per day. Ryogo Narita — the author behind Durarara!! and Baccano!, known for weaving sprawling casts into tightly plotted street-level chaos — is returning to write the sequel to the BLEACH school-life novel project. DON’T BLEACH MY FIST II centres on the first meeting between Ichigo Kurosaki and a new character, Jo Hyouzaki, after which a chain of incidents begins to unfold with signs that someone is pulling strings from behind the scenes. The announcement package closes with the confirmation of BLEACH EX. II, a second original art exhibition set for Summer 2027. It follows BLEACH EX., which launched in December 2021 and toured major Japanese venues. No city or venue details have been shared yet. The wait is over. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War — The Calamity, the fourth and final part of the anime revival, is now streaming on Disney+ Singapore as of tonight, 25 July 2026. Episode 1 dropped at 10:30pm SGT, kicking off what is the last run of episodes in a serialisation that began in Weekly Shonen Jump back in 2001. As we covered when the July premiere date was confirmed, this 13-episode arc adapts chapters 664 to 686 of Tite Kubo’s manga — the climax of everything.

What Is The Calamity?

The Calamity picks up directly where Part 3 left off. Yhwach, the Quincy King, has absorbed the Soul King and shattered Squad Zero’s defences — the pillars holding the three realms in balance are crumbling. With Captain Commander Yamamoto long dead and the Gotei 13 battered and scattered, it falls to Ichigo Kurosaki and his closest allies to mount a final stand inside the Royal Palace. This is the payoff for every soul society arc, every Bankai, every power-up viewers have watched since the original 2004 run.

The arc features the full voice cast returning under director Taguchi Tomohisa, with Sagisu Shiro’s score once again driving the action. Studio Pierrot has teased an anime-original expanded finale to round out the story — the concluding episode is expected to be extended in length.

Where to Watch in Singapore — and When

Singapore viewers can stream The Calamity on Disney+ with a standard subscription. New episodes drop every Saturday at 10:30pm SGT, immediately following the Japanese broadcast on TV Tokyo. In the United States, the simulcast is exclusive to Hulu; internationally, Disney+ carries it.

For anime fans in Singapore who have been following TYBW since Part 1 launched in late 2022, the schedule is the same format you already know — one episode a week, same-day as Japan.

The Story So Far — Quick Catch-Up

If you need a refresher before diving in: Part 1 (The Blood Warfare) introduced the Wandenreich and the shocking first wave of Bankai theft. Part 2 (The Separation) saw the Soul Reapers fight back with restored and upgraded Bankai, and Yhwach’s Sternritter pushed the Gotei 13 to their limits. Part 3 (The Conflict) brought the Royal Guard into the picture, Ichigo unlocked his true Zanpakuto form, and Yhwach finally breached the Royal Palace — consuming the Soul King himself.

The Calamity begins in the immediate aftermath. Everything broken in Parts 1 through 3 now has to be resolved in 13 episodes. Battles fans have been waiting decades to see — including the final confrontation between Ichigo and Yhwach — are all in this run.

Theme Songs and Key Staff

The opening theme for The Calamity is I-BULL by jo0ji, and the ending is Rasen by 9Lana. Both artists were revealed by VIZ Media ahead of the premiere. Series director Taguchi Tomohisa (who helmed Parts 1 through 3) and composer Sagisu Shiro round out the returning core team, keeping the production’s identity consistent through to the end.

Episode Schedule — Mark Your Saturdays

With 13 episodes and a weekly cadence, The Calamity runs through to late October 2026 if no breaks are scheduled. The finale is expected to be extended — Studio Pierrot has not confirmed the exact runtime yet, but the manga’s conclusion covers enough ground to support a longer closing episode.

Bandai Namco has dropped the first full gameplay look at BLEACH Mirrors High, the upcoming free-to-play mobile action RPG set after the Thousand-Year Blood War arc — and it comes loaded with three brand-new Soul Reapers drawn by creator Tite Kubo himself. As we covered when the game was first unveiled at Anime Expo, Mirrors High is Kubo’s most hands-on game involvement yet; the new overview trailer confirms exactly how deep that goes.

Three New Soul Reapers by Tite Kubo

The headline reveal: three new original squad members, all designed personally by Tite Kubo and voiced by established Japanese cast members.

  • Naru Jurinna (CV: Fuka Izumi) — a spirited Soul Reaper with a brash, open style and a colourful Zanpakuto, shown wielding her blade with a confident grin.
  • Giro Hando (CV: Shogo Batori) — a tall, cool-headed figure whose stoic expression and green-bladed sword suggest a character with serious depth.
  • Maiko Tokishima (CV: Yu Sasahara) — a smaller, quick-witted Soul Reaper in a bucket hat and braid, carrying both a Zanpakuto and what appears to be a notebook — a tactician in the making.

Kubo described his character design work as something he genuinely got carried away with: he produced more designs than the team originally requested, and sat in on voice auditions and recording sessions. These three squad members join the two original protagonists — Shirin Migishima and Shirane Sanari — that were announced at Anime Expo, rounding out a cast that feels every bit like a proper Bleach ensemble.

Card Combat and the Soul Drive System

The overview trailer gives the clearest look yet at how BLEACH Mirrors High actually plays. Battles are built around a card-based system where you form a team of three and combine cards to build powerful combos. Signature moves trigger when the right combination clicks, and the standout finisher is the Soul Drive — a team-up technique that lets all three fighters unleash a joint attack, visually reminiscent of the choreographed battles in the manga.

The format looks designed for one-handed mobile play while still giving players meaningful decisions with each card they draw. Fan favourites like Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Byakuya Kuchiki, Kisuke Urahara, Renji Abarai, and Toushirou Hitsugaya are all confirmed for the roster alongside the original Mirrors High cast.

Design Your Own Soul Reaper

Both the avatar and Zanpakuto customisation systems are shown in detail for the first time. Your player character is a fully customisable Soul Reaper: adjust hair, face, body type, and skin across a full colour palette, then dress them in options ranging from a classic Shihakushō to casual streetwear (yes, including a “REAPER” hoodie).

Zanpakuto customisation goes just as deep: choose the blade shape, guard, hilt, decorations, and particle effects independently to build a sword that is genuinely yours. Given how central Zanpakuto identity is to Bleach’s lore, the depth here will matter to fans.

Closed Beta Test: 22–29 July

The closed beta test runs from 22 July (11 PM PDT) to 29 July (10:59 PM PDT) on iOS and Android. Sign-ups for the CBT closed on 13 July, so if you registered, watch your inbox for access details as the window opens this week.

A full global release date has not been confirmed yet — Bandai Namco has stated the game is coming to iOS and Android “this summer”. The game is being developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment and published globally; based on the multilingual UI shown in the trailer (including Traditional Chinese and Korean text visible in gameplay footage), a broad Asian launch including Singapore is expected when it goes live.
