Kubo described his character design work as something he genuinely got carried away with: he produced more designs than the team originally requested, and sat in on voice auditions and recording sessions. These three squad members join the two original protagonists — Shirin Migishima and Shirane Sanari — that were announced at Anime Expo, rounding out a cast that feels every bit like a proper Bleach ensemble.

Card Combat and the Soul Drive System

The overview trailer gives the clearest look yet at how BLEACH Mirrors High actually plays. Battles are built around a card-based system where you form a team of three and combine cards to build powerful combos. Signature moves trigger when the right combination clicks, and the standout finisher is the Soul Drive — a team-up technique that lets all three fighters unleash a joint attack, visually reminiscent of the choreographed battles in the manga.

The format looks designed for one-handed mobile play while still giving players meaningful decisions with each card they draw. Fan favourites like Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Byakuya Kuchiki, Kisuke Urahara, Renji Abarai, and Toushirou Hitsugaya are all confirmed for the roster alongside the original Mirrors High cast.

Design Your Own Soul Reaper

Both the avatar and Zanpakuto customisation systems are shown in detail for the first time. Your player character is a fully customisable Soul Reaper: adjust hair, face, body type, and skin across a full colour palette, then dress them in options ranging from a classic Shihakushō to casual streetwear (yes, including a “REAPER” hoodie).

Zanpakuto customisation goes just as deep: choose the blade shape, guard, hilt, decorations, and particle effects independently to build a sword that is genuinely yours. Given how central Zanpakuto identity is to Bleach’s lore, the depth here will matter to fans.

Closed Beta Test: 22–29 July

The closed beta test runs from 22 July (11 PM PDT) to 29 July (10:59 PM PDT) on iOS and Android. Sign-ups for the CBT closed on 13 July, so if you registered, watch your inbox for access details as the window opens this week.

A full global release date has not been confirmed yet — Bandai Namco has stated the game is coming to iOS and Android “this summer”. The game is being developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment and published globally; based on the multilingual UI shown in the trailer (including Traditional Chinese and Korean text visible in gameplay footage), a broad Asian launch including Singapore is expected when it goes live. Granblue Fantasy × Bleach Collab Reveals Full 12-Character Roster — Starts 22 July

Cygames just dropped the full character line-up for Granblue Fantasy‘s upcoming Bleach collaboration, and it is a stacked roster. BLEACH ECHOES IN THE BLUE HOLLOW runs from 22 July at 5:00 PM to 3 August at 8:59 PM (JST), landing right as Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War — The Calamity premieres on Disney+ on 25 July. Today Cygames released the GBF-style character artwork for all twelve participants — first through 4Gamer (Japanese) and Dengeki Online (Japanese) — making this the first major Bleach x GBF breakdown English-language press has not yet covered.

BLEACH ECHOES IN THE BLUE HOLLOW: Event Overview

This is a full collaboration story event inside the original browser and mobile RPG Granblue Fantasy — not Granblue Fantasy: Relink or Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, but the original gacha RPG by Cygames. Collaboration story events let players experience an original crossover scenario, earn the guest characters, and pull from a limited summon pool featuring the collab IP.

The event title, Echoes in the Blue Hollow, was officially confirmed on the official @granbluefantasy Japanese Twitter account. Full event details — story summary, battle mechanics, summon pool breakdown — are set to release on 21 July, one day before the event opens.

Twelve characters is a healthy pull for a GBF collab. For context, the earlier Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia events each brought in around a dozen fighters, so Echoes in the Blue Hollow is in that same tier of flagship crossover event.

Ichigo gets the classic shihakushō look with his Bankai sword over his shoulder — drawn in Cygames’s signature detailed brushwork that translates manga characters into painterly GBF units surprisingly well. Byakuya comes across as particularly striking, rendered in flowing white haori with his characteristic stillness.

Hitsugaya, Rangiku, Kenpachi, Mayuri, and Nemu round out the Soul Society side. Nemu’s inclusion alongside Mayuri is notable — she was the first character revealed who will not be part of the event summon pool, hinting she might appear as a story character or field companion rather than a gacha pull. Grimmjow, Nel, and the Hueco Mundo Crew

The Hollow and Arrancar contingent is where things get fun. Grimmjow looks exactly as insufferably cool as he should in GBF’s art style — blue spikes, Espada jacket, that permanently unimpressed expression. Neliel Tu Odelschwanck and her companions Pesche Guatiche, Dondochakka Bilstein, and Bawabawa (her giant pet snake) all make the cut, which is a great nod to the Hueco Mundo arc that a lot of TYBW fans have strong feelings about.

The inclusion of Pesche, Dondochakka, and Bawabawa alongside Nel suggests the event story may revisit her time in Hueco Mundo — or these three are purely comic-relief support characters in the GBF scenario, which also tracks.

Cygames deliberately timed the event to open on 22 July — three days before BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War — The Calamity begins airing on 25 July. Singapore fans can catch The Calamity on Disney+ Singapore as it airs. The collab runs until 3 August, giving you roughly two weeks to clear the story and farm what you need.

Granblue Fantasy is free to play on iOS, Android, and the official web browser version — no region lock, so Singapore players are in from day one. Ichigo vs Yhwach — The War Ends Here

BLEACH Mirrors High is a free-to-play mobile action RPG for iOS and Android, published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Set after the events of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc — the last chapter of the main BLEACH saga — the game tells an original story within the universe, with players stepping into Karakura Town as a Soul Reaper protagonist. It is free to download on the App Store and Google Play, with in-app purchases. What is Bleach TYBW: The Calamity?

The Calamity (Japanese title: Kashin-tan) is Cour 4 of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, produced by Pierrot Films under chief director Tomohisa Taguchi and series director Hikaru Murata. For Singapore viewers, the most accessible legal option is expected to be Ani-One Asia on YouTube, which streamed previous TYBW cours in over 30 Asian territories including Singapore — though official confirmation for Cour 4 is pending at time of writing. The Date BLEACH Fans Have Been Waiting For

What Is BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War — The Calamity?

The Calamity (禍進譚, Kashintан) is the fourth and concluding chapter of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc — the grand final showdown between Ichigo Kurosaki and the Quincy King, Yhwach. If The Conflict left you breathless, The Calamity is where it all pays off.

Japanese fans are getting an exclusive one-day-only theatrical screening of Episodes 1–3 of The Calamity today. Participating cinemas include Shinjuku Balto 9, United Cinemas Aqua City Odaiba, Sapporo Cinema Frontier, Midland Square Cinema, T-Joy Umeda, and T-Joy Hakata, among others. Tickets are priced at ¥3,500.

A special cast premiere event takes place at United Cinemas Aqua City Odaiba at 14:00 and 16:35 showings (the latter reserved for Klub Outside fan club members). Live-viewing broadcasts of the stage greetings are streaming at 29 cinemas nationwide. Attendees receive an exclusive original illustration card set (3 cards) as a commemorative gift.

Overseas Screenings This Week

If you happen to be in the US this week, Fathom Events and Viz Media are bringing Episodes 1–3 to American theatres from 25–29 June — both Japanese subtitled and English dubbed. The screenings include an exclusive behind-the-scenes conversation with creator Tite Kubo and directors Tomohisa Taguchi and Hikaru Murata, making it a proper event for fans.

UK cinema screenings are confirmed for 26 June as well. No Singapore theatrical screening has been announced as of this writing.
