For a studio whose franchises have millions of fans worldwide, the absence of official social media presence had always felt like a gap. Intelligent Systems has developed every mainline Fire Emblem title, the WarioWare microgame series, and co-developed Paper Mario alongside Nintendo EPD. Fortune’s Weave is the eighteenth mainline Fire Emblem title and the first developed exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. The game puts players in the shoes of four heroes — Cai, a boy determined to free his imprisoned father; Dietrich, a duelist searching for a stronger opponent; Theodora, a queen pursuing her homeland’s dream; and Leda, a musician driven by revenge — each with their own branching storyline and save file.
The central hook is a time-travel mechanic tied to the goddess Fortuna: after a demon god named Balor destroys the world five years after the Heroic Games, players loop back to the competition and must alter the fates of the four vanished heroes. Between battles, preparation happens at Dagsion’s capital facilities — equipping units, running side battles for experience, and managing the team across all four routes.
