Solo Leveling: KARMA — Combat System Finally Revealed

Netmarble’s upcoming roguelite action RPG just got a lot more real. The official combat PV for Solo Leveling: KARMA has landed, and between the weapon-switching combos, randomised Blessings builds, and Sung Jinwoo tearing through enemy waves with his Shadow Army, this is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Solo Leveling games yet.

What Is Solo Leveling: KARMA?

Solo Leveling: KARMA is a new action RPG developed by Netmarble Neo and published by Netmarble, set in an original timeline separate from the main manhwa. Rather than retelling arcs Singapore fans know from the Crunchyroll anime, KARMA drops players into the Dimensional Gap — the 27-year war against the Monarchs that Sung Jinwoo endured before the events of the main story. It is entirely original content, which gives the developers room to build lore without being constrained by the source material.

The game is heading to PC, iOS and Android, with a release window of 2026 — a specific launch date has not yet been confirmed. The official site already offers regional language support including Thai and Indonesian, a clear signal that Southeast Asian players, Singapore included, are firmly in scope.

Weapon-Switching, Blessings, and the Shadow Army

The PV’s standout mechanic is the seamless weapon-switching system. Jinwoo cycles between daggers, scythes and bows mid-combo in real time, keeping fights fluid and letting players adapt to whatever the dungeon throws at them. Layered on top is the Blessings system — randomised passive upgrades that change every run and push players to experiment with different builds rather than locking into a fixed loadout. It gives KARMA its roguelite backbone and adds real replayability beyond the story missions.

The Shadow Army returns alongside all that — Igris, Iron and Jinwoo’s undead legion fight with you in procedurally generated dungeons. The combat on show has an isometric, arcade-style feel, tilting more action-focused than the existing Solo Leveling: ARISE mobile title. Monetisation details remain unconfirmed; early reporting has suggested a model built around story expansions or a battle pass rather than traditional gacha pulls, but nothing is official until Netmarble announces it.

The narrative centres on Jinwoo restoring the Broken Cup of Reincarnation through his fragmented memories of the 27-year conflict — a grander, more mythic scope than a game that simply retells the manhwa chapter by chapter. For fans who have consumed the original story and want more lore, that is a strong pitch. Netmarble first showed KARMA at Anime Expo 2025 and has since taken it to G-STAR 2025 and AnimeJapan 2026; the Anime Expo 2026 combat PV is the clearest look yet at how the finished game actually plays.

When Can Singapore Players Expect It?

A specific launch date remains to be confirmed — the current window is 2026. The fact that the official site supports Southeast Asian languages suggests the game will not be a one-region soft-launch situation, though Netmarble has not given specific rollout details for Singapore or SEA yet. Solo Leveling: Beyond the System — New Theatrical Anime Film Announced

Solo Leveling is not done with us yet. At the Crunchyroll Showcase during Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles, English voice actor Aleks Le — the voice of Sung Jinwoo — took the stage to announce that Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, a brand-new theatrical anime film, is now in production.

What Is Solo Leveling: Beyond the System?

The film is described as a direct continuation of the anime series, picking up following the events of Season 2. That positions it firmly within the same story continuity rather than as a spin-off or retelling, which will be welcome news to fans who have been wondering where Jinwoo’s journey goes from here. A teaser key visual and a companion concept video were released alongside the announcement, offering the first glimpse of the film’s visual direction.

Who Is Behind the Film?

A-1 Pictures — the acclaimed studio behind both seasons of the Solo Leveling TV series — is handling animation. The film is produced by Aniplex, Netmarble, D&C MEDIA, Kakao Piccoma, and Crunchyroll. That is a heavyweight lineup: the same group of producers that brought the original Korean web novel to global anime audiences. No director has been announced yet, and further production details are to follow.

It is worth noting that Solo Leveling made history at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, becoming the first Korean animation to sweep nine major categories including Anime of the Year. The franchise’s global momentum is very much still at full speed.

No Release Date Yet — Here Is What We Know

Crunchyroll confirmed the film is in production but held back on a release date, promising that more details will be announced at a later date. For Singapore fans who have been following the series on Crunchyroll, there is no confirmed theatrical or streaming window yet — but given that both seasons of the TV series were distributed globally through Crunchyroll, a wide international release for the film seems likely when the time comes.

Solo Leveling: Beyond the System Movie Is Officially in Production

Solo Leveling is heading to theatres. Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, a brand-new anime theatrical film, is officially in production — announced at the Crunchyroll Showcase at Anime Expo 2026 on 3 July by Aleks Le, Sung Jinwoo’s English voice actor, who introduced a teaser concept video and the film’s first key visual. A-1 Pictures, the studio behind Seasons 1 and 2, is back on animation.

What Beyond the System Is About

The title pulls from one of the series’ most beloved early moments: the Double Dungeon Arc, where a near-dead Jinwoo first received the System that would reshape his life. Beyond the System picks up after Season 2’s Ant King raid on Jeju Island and follows Jinwoo back to the Cartenon Temple — the original dungeon where everything started — to uncover the truth about the System that gave him his power.

The released key visual shows Jinwoo with his signature blue aura eyes glowing at an intensity that implies he has risen to a level of power that transcends the System itself. A theatrical Japan premiere is targeted for 2027; an international cinema schedule, including Singapore, has not yet been announced.

Season 3 Confirmed Too

Alongside the movie announcement, D&C Media confirmed Solo Leveling Season 3 is in development, with an expected release window of 2027 to 2028. The franchise is expanding on two fronts simultaneously — the movie appears to be a standalone bridge story rather than a replacement for the main season arc, which will continue with its own release.

For Singapore fans, both seasons streamed on Crunchyroll, which is fully available here, and Season 2’s Arise from the Shadows cour was among the most-discussed anime in the local community this year. The same distribution pipeline makes Crunchyroll the likely home for Beyond the System‘s digital release as well, though a local theatrical run would depend on distribution partners in the region.

The Production Team

The core production lineup remains intact: A-1 Pictures on animation, co-produced by Aniplex, Netmarble, D&C MEDIA, Kakao Piccoma, and Crunchyroll. That same team delivered the shadow army sequences and dungeon boss fights that became some of the most shared anime clips of 2024 and 2025 — Singapore fan servers included. More details — director, full cast, release windows — are expected as production progresses.
