ELECEED — one of the biggest action manhwa on the planet with over a billion global reads — is officially getting its anime adaptation, and Crunchyroll has just confirmed it will stream it worldwide (outside Japan and China). That means Singapore fans are fully in the coverage window, no workarounds needed.

What Is ELECEED?

Created by Jeho Son and illustrated by ZHENA, ELECEED has been serialised on Naver Webtoon since October 2018 and has racked up more than one billion global views — making it one of the most-read manhwa series on the platform. The premise is deceptively breezy: Jiwoo Seo (Kazahaya Yuu in the Japanese anime) is a warm-hearted teenager with cat-like reflexes who quietly uses his abilities to help people around him. One day he rescues an injured stray cat, which turns out to be Kayden Break — the world’s most powerful Awakened, currently stuck in the body of a decidedly rotund orange tabby while recovering from injuries. What begins as an odd-couple household gradually escalates into full-scale Awakened-vs-Awakened action, with Jiwoo growing from a good-natured bystander into a force in his own right.

The ELECEED Anime Voice Cast

The first full trailer, released in July 2026, revealed the main Japanese cast. Note that the anime localises the webtoon’s Korean character names into Japanese, so fans of the manhwa will hear different names on screen:

  • Junya Enoki as Jiwoo Seo / Kazahaya Yuu — Enoki is best known as Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen, which makes him an inspired pick for another physically gifted, morally wholesome lead
  • Tasuku Hatanaka as Wooin / Jin Tatsuoka

One conspicuous gap: the voice actor for Kayden — easily the casting fans are most curious about — has not yet been announced.

The Studio and Creative Team

The adaptation is being produced by DandeLion Animation Studio — the South Korean studio behind the acclaimed THE FIRST SLAM DUNK film, which was a big theatrical hit here and across Asia. The key staff:

  • Director: Hiroshi Nishikiori (Toaru Majutsu no Index III, Honey Lemon Soda)
  • Series Composition: Yosuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia)

Yosuke Kuroda on scripts is a particularly reassuring sign — his fingerprints are all over My Hero Academia‘s best story arcs, and ELECEED‘s blend of underdog growth and escalating power battles sits squarely in his wheelhouse.

The series was originally slated for a 2026 broadcast. In June 2026, the production team announced a delay to early 2027 alongside a new key visual; given the calibre of the studio and staff, the extra time is probably the right call.

When and Where to Watch — Singapore

Crunchyroll confirmed the streaming deal at AnimagiC 2026 on 1 August, with rights covering worldwide territories outside Japan and China. Singapore sits firmly within that window. No exact premiere date within the early 2027 window has been set yet — keep an eye on Crunchyroll’s upcoming anime announcements for the full schedule. The Remarried Empress Drops First Poster — Disney+ This Fall

Disney+ has unveiled the first official teaser poster for The Remarried Empress (재혼 황후), its upcoming Korean fantasy romance series — and it is already giving Singapore’s webtoon community all the feels. The poster arrived on 27 July 2026, ahead of a confirmed Fall 2026 premiere on Disney+.

What Is The Remarried Empress?

If you have been anywhere near the Naver Webtoon app in the past few years, you already know the name. The Remarried Empress is a fantasy romance manhwa by Alphatart that has racked up an extraordinary 2.97 billion cumulative views since launching in 2019, across ten language editions. It is consistently one of the most-read titles in the platform’s history, and Singapore readers have been among its most devoted fans.

The adaptation is billed as Disney’s first Korean fantasy romance original, produced by Studio N under director Jo Soo-won (Pinocchio) with a screenplay by Yeo Ji-na and Hyun Choong-yeol, the team behind The Uncanny Counter. Principal photography ran from June to November 2025, filmed largely in Prague, Czech Republic — preserving the Western-fantasy aesthetic of the source material rather than transposing the story to a Korean historical setting.

A Star-Studded Cast

The setup is already one of fiction’s most satisfying premises: Navier, the flawless Empress of the Eastern Empire, discovers that her husband Emperor Sovieshu wants to replace her with Rashta, a former runaway slave. The anime adaptation of Saenal’s iconic VR-MMORPG web novel is set to premiere on Crunchyroll in October 2026, with a full new trailer and additional voice cast revealed at Crunchyroll’s Anime Expo 2026 showcase in Los Angeles.

Grid’s Story: From Deadbeat Gamer to Legendary Blacksmith

For anyone who hasn’t already ploughed through the original web novel or manhwa: Overgeared follows Shin Youngwoo, a directionless young man whose family has written him off, who spends most of his life grinding away in the massively popular virtual reality MMORPG Satisfy. A stroke of sheer luck hands him the legendary inheritance of Pagma’s Successor — a mythic blacksmith class that lets him forge weapons and armour of unmatched power. As his in-game character Grid, Youngwoo begins an improbable climb from bottom-tier nobody to the most feared and respected player in the game. The story rewards patience: Grid’s growth is hard-won, often messy, and genuinely satisfying when it pays off.

The source material started as a Korean web novel by Saenal (serialised 2014–2024) before receiving a webtoon adaptation by Monohumbug via REDICE STUDIO and Team Argo — REDICE being the same studio behind the Solo Leveling webtoon. The English-language publication of the manhwa is handled by Yen Press.

The anime — officially titled Tempal: The Power of Items (テムパル ~アイテムの力~) in Japan — is produced by EGG FIRM and animated at J.C. Staff. Series composition is by Kenta Ihara (Sentenced to Be a Hero), with Ryosuke Tanigawa on character designs and Yoshiaki Fujisawa composing the score.

The manhwa-to-anime adaptation Solo Leveling fans have been eyeing as the next big thing arrives on Crunchyroll on 8 July 2026 — but there is a catch Singapore fans need to know before they mark the calendar: the Tomb Raider King anime will not be streaming in Asia, which means the entire Singapore audience is shut out of Crunchyroll’s broadcast. Here’s the full picture.

What Is the Tomb Raider King Anime?

Based on the wildly popular Korean manhwa by Sang-G (story) with art by 3B2S — available on Kakao Webtoon and Naver Webtoon — Tomb Raider King follows Seo Joo-Heon, an elite tomb raider who is betrayed and left for dead by his employer. When a second chance sends him back 15 years in time with all his future memories intact, he sets out to claim every powerful relic-filled tomb before the corrupt elites who once destroyed him can get there first.

If that premise sounds familiar to fans of Solo Leveling — another Korean manhwa with a revenge-driven male lead who racks up supernatural abilities — that is not a coincidence. Tomb Raider King has been running since 2019 and belongs to the same wave of power-fantasy manhwa that dominated the webtoon charts. Manhwa fans in Singapore who enjoyed Solo Leveling’s anime adaptation will find a lot to like here on paper.

Who Made It? Studio EEK and the Production Team

Studio EEK — a South Korean animation studio — handles the adaptation under director Seung Wook Woo, with character design by Hyun Joung Lee and an original soundtrack by Ju Young Kim. The Japanese dub features a strong voice cast: Yoshimasa Hosoya as Seo Joo-Heon, Saori Hayami as Irene Holton, Junichi Suwabe as Taejoon Kwon, and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Seungwoo Oh.

A world premiere screening of the first two episodes was held on 13 June at Tokyo Science Hall ahead of the July 8 broadcast.

Why Can’t Singapore Watch It on Crunchyroll?

This is the frustrating part. According to C21Media, Tomb Raider King “will be streamed globally, excluding Asia and Russia.” That blanket Asia exclusion takes in the entire ASEAN region, meaning no Crunchyroll stream in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, or anywhere else in the region.

The reason for the exclusion has not been publicly explained, but territorial licensing splits like this are common with Korean properties — the rights for Asian markets are often held separately and sold to regional platforms independent of a global Crunchyroll deal.

Are There Alternative Streaming Options for Singapore?

As of this writing, no alternative streaming platform for Southeast Asia has been officially announced for Tomb Raider King. It is possible that a regional deal is in the works — services like Ani-One Asia and WeTV have picked up Korean manhwa adaptations in the past — but nothing has been confirmed for Singapore specifically.

Last Words

It is genuinely disappointing that a show with this much manhwa pedigree — and a built-in Singapore fan base that already loves the source material — arrives on Crunchyroll with an Asia-wide blackout. That said, the manhwa anime space is moving fast and regional licensing deals tend to get sorted out eventually. Keep an eye out for an Ani-One Asia or similar announcement. When it lands, Tomb Raider King is going to be a very easy recommendation for any Solo Leveling fan on this side of the world.
