NBA 2K27 is live. 2K released the latest entry in their long-running basketball simulation franchise on 4 September 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam — and for the first time in the series’ history, last-generation consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) have been left behind entirely.
Three Cover Athletes, One Historic First
NBA 2K27 ships with three editions, each headlined by a different cover athlete:
- Standard Edition: Victor Wembanyama — the San Antonio Spurs’ generational talent who has dominated basketball discourse since his 2023 draft.
- Deluxe Edition: Caitlin Clark — making her the first WNBA player to headline a global premium edition of an NBA 2K game, a genuine milestone for the series.
- Ultra Edition: Derrick Rose — a tribute to one of basketball’s most beloved comeback stories.
What’s New in NBA 2K27
The headline gameplay addition is the Dynamic Dunk Meter, which evaluates defensive positioning in real time and adjusts the dunk timing window accordingly — making contact dunks feel more earned and physically situational. The MyPLAYER Builder has expanded to 53 total Badges (up from NBA 2K26), including 19 brand-new ones, giving builders more meaningful choices across play styles.
MyTEAM gets a unified Auction House across all platforms — long-requested by the community. MyCAREER players can now ball at a recreated Rucker Park, while MyNBA receives CBA salary cap mechanics and No-Trade Clauses for a deeper franchise management experience.
On PC, NBA 2K27 supports Nvidia DLSS 5 with 3D-guided neural rendering, marking the technology’s debut in a shipped game. The feature applies to GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs and GeForce Now, enhancing lighting, skin, hair, and shadow fidelity noticeably on supported hardware.
