The Gamescom Award 2026 winners were revealed on Friday, 28 August, at the gamescom studio powered by IGN in Cologne — and two games SG gamers know well came out on top. Capcom’s samurai action game Onimusha: Way of the Sword swept the PlayStation and gameplay categories, while Arknights: Endfield, beloved by Singapore’s gacha-RPG community, claimed the fan-voted Best Booth award. Here is the full breakdown.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword Wins Best Gameplay and Best PlayStation Game

Capcom’s long-awaited revival of the Onimusha franchise picked up two trophies: Best Gameplay across all platforms, and Best Sony PlayStation Game at this year’s show. With gamescom running its expanded public floor from 27 to 30 August, the vote carried weight from the over 300,000 attendees who got hands-on time with the demo.
Set in the atmospheric early Edo period, Onimusha: Way of the Sword delivers the tight swordplay and supernatural demon-hunting the series is remembered for, rebuilt from the ground up on modern hardware. More game news from Capcom has been building all week, including an expanded demo now live on PS5. The full game launches 25 September 2026 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A free playable demo is already available on Steam (store.steampowered.com).

Arknights: Endfield Takes Best Booth — Fan-Voted

In the consumer-voted category, Arknights: Endfield beat the rest of the show floor to claim Best Booth (Consumer). GRYPHLINE’s expanded dual-booth in Hall 8.1 — anchored by three life-sized boss installations and panoramic LED displays — drew massive queues throughout the event, with visitors taking part in timed boss speedrun challenges across Triaggelos, Nefarith, and Alleikhreos.
For Singapore players who missed the launch: Arknights: Endfield is a free-to-play 3D action-RPG — the first title to take the Arknights IP beyond mobile — and has been available since 22 January 2026 on PlayStation 5, PC (official launcher and Epic Games Store), iOS, and Android. A Steam release is also in the works. The game’s next major update, Dreamscape Wind & Snow, arrives in September 2026.
