The wait is almost over. The Vermilion Mask has locked in October 10 as its premiere date, and yesterday’s second main trailer brought everything fans have been waiting for: a sweeping new key visual, six additional voice cast members, and — the headline for music fans — MAN WITH A MISSION delivering the opening theme.
When we first covered this one in July, the production had confirmed Crunchyroll and a general October window — now the specific date is in, and the show is four weeks out. Studio One Double-O handles the animation, directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe (Blue Lock), with music by Alisa Okehazama (The Apothecary Diaries).

The anime runs as a split two-cour series. Part 1 premieres October 10 on Crunchyroll globally. Singapore subscribers can expect episodes to arrive within the hour of the Japan broadcast — exact simulcast times are still to be confirmed. The show is set in a fantasy world where cursed masks grant terrible power, following Peru d’Arrest, a maskmaker’s apprentice driven to destroy every dangerous mask his late master forged.
MAN WITH A MISSION Opens — and yutori Closes
The music choices fit the show’s register exactly. MAN WITH A MISSION — the Japanese rock band famous for their wolf-mask personas and a track record of anime openings that hit hard (Tokyo Revengers, Jujutsu Kaisen collaborations) — perform the opening theme “Firestarter.” It is exactly as relentless as the title suggests, and the second trailer confirms it lands well against the show’s dark action aesthetic.
Ending theme duties go to yutori with “Koe” (Voice) — a contrasting, introspective sound that should make for a sharp tonal pivot after each episode’s violence. Both tracks are confirmed from Thursday’s reveal.
Six New Cast Members — Who They’re Playing
Beyond the leads already confirmed in July, the second trailer named six additional cast members:
- Kenji Nojima — Hien, a member of Lisblanc’s Governance Guard
- Aoi Koga — Lasgarl, a sound-controlling warrior
- Yuki Shin — Clown
- Akihisa Wakayama — Rinne
- Aya Endo — the Mask of Necromancy
- Yui Horie — Master
Aoi Koga (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Mushoku Tensei) and Yui Horie (Toradora!) are names that carry weight for longtime anime fans. The Governance Guard and the Mask of Necromancy also hint at a broader antagonist structure across the two-cour run.
The Cursed Masks at the Centre of It All
The manga by Dr. Poro and Nabana Naba runs in Young King OURs with eight volumes out so far. Seven Seas Entertainment holds the English licence. The premise — guilt, atonement, and the violence required to undo a dead craftsman’s legacy — lands closer to Demon Slayer‘s emotional register than the typical battle shonen, and the animation quality in both trailers looks ambitious enough to back it up.
