Digital Sun and 11 bit studios have confirmed that Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will exit Early Access and launch as a full 1.0 release on 2 September 2026 across Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. The headline news for Singapore players: a free demo is live right now on every platform, including the Nintendo eShop and PSN — no pre-order or purchase required. PC players also have a bonus: the original Moonlighter is free to claim on Steam until 9 August, which is just three days away.

What Is Moonlighter 2?
Moonlighter 2 is the sequel to Digital Sun’s 2018 cult hit — a top-down action RPG built around a clever double life: by day, you delve into procedurally generated dungeons hunting for loot; by night, you run your shop and set prices for the townsfolk. The original Moonlighter became a favourite on Switch and PC for the way it blended roguelite combat with light shopkeeping simulation.
The sequel entered Early Access in late 2025 and has been expanded steadily since, with the 1.0 release bringing the full main story, new mechanics, and a proper ending to the campaign.
What’s New in Version 1.0
The 1.0 update is substantial. Here is what’s coming alongside the full launch:
- Main story conclusion — the full narrative arc wraps up for the first time
- New weapons and armour sets for dungeon runs and crafting
- Bomb Path — a new combat ability that causes enemies to explode after taking enough hits, damaging those nearby
- Shop upgrades — Will’s shop reaches its final level, unlocking additional Bloblet slots and cosmetic options
- Infinite Endless Vault — an endless postgame dungeon challenge for players who want to keep going after the credits
- Hardcore mode — permadeath consequences for those who want a serious test
The Demo Is Live — and the Original Is Free on Steam
The free demo is available across all platforms as of today. On Nintendo Switch 2, search Moonlighter 2 on the eShop and download the demo directly. The same applies to the PlayStation Store and Xbox marketplace.
PC players on Steam have until 9 August to claim the original Moonlighter for free — it stays in your library permanently after you add it. If you have been curious about the franchise, this is the easiest entry point: play the first game free, then try the sequel demo before deciding on 1.0 at launch.
Platforms, Pricing, and Physical Edition
The full release is set for Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 2 September 2026. The game is also included in Game Pass from day one — one of the more notable day-one indie inclusions this year. Digital pricing has not yet been announced officially. SGD pricing is to be confirmed.
For collectors, a physical edition is confirmed for Switch 2, PS5, and PC on 13 November 2026 via Silver Lining Interactive. Singapore players should have access via standard regional distribution, though local retailer availability is to be confirmed closer to release.
