Jin Sakai — the Ghost of Tsushima himself — is crossing into Yōtei’s world. A new Most Wanted trailer revealed at Sony’s September 3 State of Play gives Ghost of Tsushima fans something genuinely unexpected: their samurai as a fully playable fighter in Ghost of Yōtei’s roguelite survival mode, complete with all four stances intact.
What the State of Play Reveal Actually Showed
When Sucker Punch first announced Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition in August, we covered the broad strokes: the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion, a roguelite survival mode called Most Wanted, and an Asia-Pacific launch date. What it did not reveal was who was coming along for the ride.
That changed on September 3. The Most Wanted trailer confirmed Jin Sakai as the mode’s unlockable fourth playable character, upgraded visually for Yōtei’s engine while staying faithful to his Ghost of Tsushima design. His full stance system makes the jump — Stone, Water, Wind, and Moon — letting players exploit enemy weaknesses exactly as they did in Tsushima. His ghost tools carry over too: katana, sticky bomb, and hankyu short bow. His Ultimate, Dance of Wrath, disarms multiple enemies in one move; his Kill Streak activates Ghost Stance, terrifying nearby enemies and enabling one-hit kills — that same panic-inducing signature that made the original so satisfying. According to the PlayStation Blog, Sucker Punch rebuilt Jin’s model specifically for the Yōtei engine.
All Four Playable Characters and Their Kits
Jin is the only unlock — the other three characters are available from the start. Here is what each brings:
Atsu (default) wields dual katanas, metsubushi blinding powder, and a blind bomb. Her Ultimate, Call of the Pack, summons two wolves to tear through nearby enemies. Her Kill Streak, Onryō’s Howl, terrifies all enemies in range and forces one to flee outright.
Oyuki is the stealth specialist: kusarigama, kunai, and a tanegashima rifle. Her Shadow Killer Ultimate unleashes a smoke screen to assassinate two enemies in rapid succession. Her Kill Streak summons a Nine Tails fox spirit as a temporary ally.
Nagato is the archer, carrying a yari spear, tanzutsu pistol, and both yumi long bow and hankyu short bow. His Gambler’s Mark Ultimate guarantees headshots on two enemies. His Kill Streak, Blast Arrow, refills concentration and loads a single explosive arrow.

How Most Wanted’s Roguelite Runs Work
Each run starts at a Bounty Board. You pick from bounties tied to different Yōtei Six members, then fight through waves of enemies and minibosses — difficulty escalating with each tier until the hardest bounties put you against Lord Saito. Between bounty picks, a perk selection system lets you shape your build: weapon mastery, gear loadouts, summons, parry upgrades, and survivability options. Sucker Punch describes the perk layer as “the cornerstone of crafting the perfect build.”
Between full runs, Mon currency carries over. Spend it on permanent technique unlocks, weapon upgrades, charms, and to unlock additional characters. Any cosmetics earned in Most Wanted transfer to the main Ghost of Yōtei campaign and the Echoes of Sekigahara expansion — so grinding runs pays off even if you have already finished the story.
Singapore and Asia-Pacific: October 2, What It Costs
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition launches October 1 globally and October 2 in Asia-Pacific territories, which includes Singapore. Existing Ghost of Yōtei owners can grab the upgrade for US$14.99 — local SGD pricing on the PlayStation Store Singapore is to be confirmed, but the upgrade window is open until September 30 (pre-ordering also unlocks the Sakai Armor skin for Atsu on day one). A new Complete Edition purchase is priced at US$69.99 and bundles the base game, Most Wanted, Echoes of Sekigahara, the Legends co-op mode, and all quality-of-life updates in one package.
All Ghost of Yōtei owners — even those who skip the upgrade — receive a free update adding the Beauty of Yōtei photo mode, new Watanabe Mode tracks, armor appearance customisation, and a new high-contrast accessibility option.
