If you’re looking for a free anime fix before AFA arrives in November, Anime Earth by the Singapore Cosplay Club (SCC) — the same team behind Cosfest — is taking over City Square Mall’s Level 1 Atrium from 28 September to 4 October 2026. No ticket, no queue, just walk in.
What Is Anime Earth?
Anime Earth is Singapore Cosplay Club’s anime and Japanese pop-culture pop-up, running as the headline community event inside City Square Mall’s wider PlayVerse: Shop, Play & Discover campaign (4 Sep – 11 Oct 2026). SCC have been running Cosfest since 2003, making them one of Singapore’s longest-running cosplay event organisers. Anime Earth is their smaller, free-entry format — designed to bring the cosplay-convention atmosphere to everyday shoppers and families, not just dedicated fans.
When, Where, and How to Get There
The event runs daily from 11am to 7:30pm, 28 September to 4 October 2026, at the Level 1 Atrium of City Square Mall (180 Kitchener Road, Singapore 208539). Admission is free — no tickets or pre-registration needed for general access. The easiest way to get there is via Farrer Park MRT (NE8), a two-minute walk away. Two Atriums, Seven Days of Content
The event splits across two atrium spaces running different programming on different days:
Atrium A hosts festival-themed anime and cosplay merchandise booths throughout the week. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, interactive game booths join the line-up — expect the kind of mini-activities you’d find at the average Cosfest or doujin market.
Atrium B operates on a rotating programme. From Monday to Thursday (29 Sep – 2 Oct), visual storytelling educator and Takahan Toy Art Museum creator Takahan Tan presents an art exhibition showcasing his distinctive character-driven visual work. From Friday to Sunday (3–4 Oct), the space opens up to emerging local artists and creators.
Free Drawing Workshops (3 & 4 October)
The weekend of 3–4 October also brings complimentary drawing workshops with two sessions each day — 2pm to 3pm and 4pm to 5pm. Registration is free; you can sign up via the form on www.anime-earth.com. Spaces are limited so register early if you or a younger family member want a spot.
