Capcom is bringing Mega Man: Dual Override to Gamescom 2026 — and for the first time ever, fans will be able to get their hands on it. The showfloor demo marks the public debut of one of this year’s most anticipated action-platformers, and with Gamescom running from 20 to 24 August in Cologne, Germany, the wait isn’t long.

If the reveal trailer is anything to go by, this is going to be a proper Mega Man experience — classic 2D side-scrolling action with a fresh coat of paint and what looks like a more ambitious scope than the series has seen in years.

The “Dual Override” name has had fans speculating since the announcement, and Capcom has kept the full details close to its chest. From the reveal trailer and early screenshots, the game carries the series’ signature feel: fast movement, precise platforming, and the kind of robot boss fights that made the franchise iconic.

Mega Man: Dual Override isn’t the only reason to keep an eye on Gamescom this year. Nintendo’s Switch 2 line-up for the event is stacked, with confirmed titles including Splatoon Raiders, Switch Sports Resort, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Minecraft Dungeons 2, 007: First Light, EA FC 27, and the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass. It’s shaping up to be one of the biggest Gamescom showcases in years.

The gameplay screenshot shows exactly what fans want from a Mega Man title: layered 2D stage design, explosive visual effects, and the kind of enemy density that’ll have your reflexes working overtime. This looks like a Mega Man game that means serious business.
