Publisher Shueisha Games and developer iMel have announced a game adaptation described as a “drama-like adventure,” launching on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in winter 2026.

The Story: A Library Committee with a Complicated Caseload
You play as Jiro Horikawa, a high school boy serving on the library committee alongside his partner Shimon Matsukura. What starts as ordinary student requests quietly spirals into something far heavier. Four cases form the backbone of the game: a safe that simply refuses to open, exam questions that went missing, the last book borrowed by a student before their mysterious death, and a secret that Shimon himself has been hiding from Jiro.
Shueisha Games frames the experience as fusing the act of reading a novel with watching a drama — you take in the story with your eyes, hear it through full voice acting, and unravel each case yourself.
More Than a Visual Novel
Character designs come from Yoko Tanji — the same illustrator who worked on the original novels — so the look stays true to the books. The adaptation also includes a brand-new episode written by Yonezawa exclusively for this game, giving novel readers a reason to play even if they know the main story inside out.
