Gible is descending on Singapore this Saturday — and this time it’s bringing Shiny odds good enough to actually get excited about. Pokémon GO’s September 2026 Community Day Classic spotlights the land-shark trio (Gible, Gabite, Garchomp) on 12 September 2026 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm SGT, with the headline prize being a Garchomp that knows the powerhouse Ground-type move Earth Power.

When and Where: 12 September, 2pm–5pm SGT

Mark your calendars: the Community Day Classic window runs from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, 12 September — that’s your main three-hour hunting period. Gible will flood wild encounters, Incense activated during the window lasts a full three hours, and Lure Modules run for one hour each.

There’s also a generous extended-lure bonus: PokéStops with active Lure Modules will attract Gible from 2:00pm all the way to 9:00pm SGT, keeping the shiny hunt alive well after the main window closes. Gible caught on active lures still carry the elevated shiny rate and can spawn with the special event background, so it’s worth keeping lures ticking at your favourite spot through the evening. Singapore’s local Pokémon GO scene tends to converge on well-stocked PokéStop clusters — anywhere with four or more stops in close range makes lure stacking especially efficient.

Earth Power Garchomp: Why You Want One

Garchomp is already a Raid and PvP staple, but the right move matters. If you evolve Gabite into Garchomp any time from the start of the event through 9:00pm SGT on 12 September, you will lock in the Charged Attack Earth Power — a Ground-type move with 100 power in PvE raids and 90 power in PvP, and a bonus chance to lower the opponent’s Attack stat.

For Master League, a high-CP Garchomp with Earth Power is one of the most complete Dragon/Ground attackers in the game. Sandstorm teams that pair Garchomp with Steel-types benefit enormously from the Attack-drop chip. Even in PvE, Earth Power slots neatly alongside Dragon moves for coverage on targets weak to Ground. If you have any Gible candy stocked up, this is the window to evolve.

Shiny Gible: 1-in-20 Odds

Community Day Classic events apply a 1-in-20 (5%) shiny encounter rate — far above the standard 1-in-500 baseline. Every wild Gible is worth a tap. Shiny Gible sports a noticeably lighter blue-grey skin, and Shiny Garchomp goes full navy dark — a clean, understated look that stands out in gym and raid lobbies.

You’ll also have a chance to encounter Gible with a Special Community Day Background, which persists through evolution and adds a rare cosmetic layer to any Garchomp you raise from this event. Rare Event Field Research tasks during the event guarantee a Special Background encounter as a completion reward.
