Ten years ago this month, the world started walking to parks and bumping into lamp posts — and Pokémon GO has never really let us stop. Niantic is marking the milestone with a packed July schedule every Singapore trainer should bookmark: a free GO Fest Global event, the debut of Mega Mewtwo X and Y, and a Community Day starring Sobble.

10th Anniversary Party: 4–6 July
The birthday bash runs from Saturday 4 July to Monday 6 July (until 8 p.m. local time each day). Trainers get 4× XP and 4× Stardust for catching Pokémon, plus the debut of Gimmighoul holding a special 10th Anniversary Coin — a variant not seen before. Party-hat Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur return with boosted Shiny rates, and evolving a Charizard, Venusaur or Blastoise during the window unlocks the legacy Community Day moves Blast Burn, Frenzy Plant and Hydro Cannon respectively. Singapore’s green corridors — East Coast Park, Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, Orchard Road, the Botanic Gardens — tend to have the densest lured PokéStops during major events, so plan your route early.
Community Day — Sobble on 4 July, 2–5 p.m.

Community Day falls on the same Saturday as the Anniversary Party kickoff, so the bonuses run in parallel. Sobble is the star, 2–5 p.m. local time, with increased Shiny rates in the wild. Evolve it all the way to Inteleon during the event or within four hours after (by 9 p.m.) and it learns Hydro Cannon. The day also brings 2× Catch Candy, 2× Candy XL, 3-hour Incense, ¼ Egg hatch distance, and lures that last for an hour. Full event details are on the official Pokémon GO Community Day announcement.

GO Fest 2026: Global — Free for the First Time Ever

GO Fest 2026: Global runs 11–12 July (10 a.m. 11 July to 7 p.m. 12 July, local time) — and for the first time since GO Fest began, no ticket purchase is required. Every trainer logs in and gets access: 1-hour Lures, 1-hour Incense, and up to 9 free Raid Passes per day.
The featured encounters are headline material. Zeraora makes its Pokémon GO debut via Special Research during GO Fest. And the raid tier gets a new category: Super Mega Raids, where Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y debut simultaneously. The twist — every trainer in the raid lobby must have a Mega-Evolved Pokémon active. Every Mega Mewtwo caught arrives with at least one Mega Level already unlocked. A branching Timed Research lets you prioritise whichever form you want.
Singapore’s Pokemon GO community has a stacked weekend ahead. On Saturday, July 4, Sobble takes the Community Day spotlight — and running right alongside it (through Monday, July 6) is the Pokemon GO 10th Anniversary Party, marking a decade since the game launched on July 6, 2016. Two events, one big weekend, and plenty of reasons to charge your phone and head out to your favourite park.

Sobble Community Day — Saturday, July 4, 2:00–5:00 PM

Sobble, the Water Lizard Pokemon (#816), appears more frequently in the wild during the three-hour Community Day window, and Shiny Sobble is making its debut. The boosted shiny odds during Community Day are roughly 1 in 20, so keep catching — the blue-and-yellow variant is worth the tap. Community Day lasts from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, but certain bonuses extend until 9:00 PM.

The Exclusive Moves: Hydro Cannon and Snipe Shot

The main reason to play hard on July 4: evolve Sobble all the way to Inteleon during the event or within four hours of it ending (before 9:00 PM), and that Inteleon unlocks two moves it cannot learn otherwise:
Hydro Cannon (Charged Attack) — one of the strongest Water-type moves in Pokemon GO and an excellent raid attacker
Snipe Shot (Charged Attack) — a Community Day exclusive with attack-boosting potential in PvP formats

Inteleon with Hydro Cannon is shaping up as a top-tier Water attacker in GO’s current meta. If you can find a high-IV Sobble on July 4, it is worth the candy investment.

Pokemon GO Turns 10 — Anniversary Party (July 4–6)

Pokemon GO launched on July 6, 2016. Ten years on, the 10th Anniversary Party runs from Saturday, July 4 at 10:00 AM through Monday, July 6 at 8:00 PM local time. The anniversary event is active before and after Community Day on July 4, meaning the two events fully overlap during the 2:00–5:00 PM window.
Gimmighoul Makes Its Debut
The headline feature of the anniversary event is Gimmighoul, the Coin Chest Pokemon from Scarlet and Violet, making its Pokemon GO debut here. Gimmighoul appears holding a 10th Anniversary Coin, and Shiny Gimmighoul is available from the start. It can also appear with a Special Background. A Timed Research is available for US$1.99 (or local equivalent) and includes a guaranteed Gimmighoul encounter alongside a Super Incubator and Premium Battle Pass.

All event-themed Pokemon have boosted shiny rates during the anniversary window. Earlier anniversary Pikachu forms have historically become collector’s items — the cake-hat variant is worth grabbing.
Kanto Starter Legacy Moves Return
This is the big one for meta players who missed the original Community Days. During the 10th Anniversary event, evolving the Kanto starters unlocks their Community Day legacy Charged Attacks:
Ivysaur → Venusaur: gets Frenzy Plant
Charmeleon → Charizard: gets Blast Burn
Wartortle → Blastoise: gets Hydro Cannon
Frenzy Plant Venusaur, Blast Burn Charizard, and Hydro Cannon Blastoise are all top-tier in both raids and certain PvP formats. This is a window to fix missing legacy moves without waiting for another anniversary event.

How to Stack the Events on July 4 in Singapore
The overlap of Community Day and the Anniversary Party on July 4 is the best window of the weekend. Here is a rough plan:
10:00 AM–2:00 PM — Anniversary active only: farm 4× XP and Stardust, hunt Gimmighoul, grab shiny anniversary Pokemon
2:00 PM–5:00 PM — Both events running simultaneously: Sobble spawns spike, 4× XP/Stardust stays on, Community Day bonuses all active at once
5:00 PM–9:00 PM — Community Day main hours end; evolve your best Drizzile into a Hydro Cannon Inteleon before the extended window closes; Sobble remains at active Lures
July 5–6 — Anniversary continues with 4× XP and Stardust; good days to work through Kanto starter evolutions
Popular GO spots in Singapore for Community Days include Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, East Coast Park, Pasir Ris Park, Gardens by the Bay, and the Singapore Botanic Gardens — all have dense PokéStop clusters suitable for Luring up. Check local GO communities on Facebook and Discord closer to the date for organised meetup spots and carpool plans.
The My Hero Academia anime may have aired its final episode in December 2025, but the franchise’s milestone 10th anniversary is still very much in full swing. A Decade of Plus Ultra: How We Got Here
The anime first aired on 3 April 2016 in Japan, adapting Kohei Horikoshi’s manga from Weekly Shonen Jump. Over eight seasons and 138 broadcast episodes, the series followed a world where most people are born with “Quirks” — superpowers — and the one boy born without one who still dreams of becoming the greatest hero. By the time Season 8 concluded on 13 December 2025, the show had become one of the defining anime of its generation.
In early 2026, at the 10th Crunchyroll Anime Awards, the final season took home Anime of the Year — a fitting send-off, and a testament to how deeply the show resonated with audiences globally, Singapore included. Walk into any anime merchandise store on our shores and the Class 1-A crew is still holding prime shelf space.

The “More” Epilogue Episode — And Why Asia Missed Out
One of the biggest anniversary announcements was Episode 170+1, titled More — a bonus epilogue adapting Chapter 431 of the manga, set eight years after the main story and showing a grown-up Deku and his classmates in their adult hero lives. It premiered on 2 May 2026 on Crunchyroll.
The catch? Crunchyroll’s rollout explicitly excluded Asia. Singapore fans who wanted to watch it day-one had no official streaming option in-region. Whether a Southeast Asia release window is coming has not been confirmed by Crunchyroll or TOHO animation at the time of writing — we will update this post if that changes.

My Hero Academia in Concert — A World Tour Is Underway
Beyond the screen, the 10th anniversary is getting a live orchestral treatment. My Hero Academia in Concert kicked off on 30 May 2026 at Pacifico Yokohama in Japan, with composer Yūki Hayashi — the man behind the series’ stirring score — leading live performances accompanied by scenes from the anime. The tour expanded internationally with U.S. dates confirmed for Fall 2026.
Asia tour dates beyond Japan have not been announced yet. Singapore fans who want to be first in line when (and if) local or regional dates drop should follow the official My Hero Academia X account and keep an eye on event ticketing platforms. Given the franchise’s strong regional fanbase, an Asia leg would not be a surprise.

Ten years is no small thing in anime. My Hero Academia ran the full distance — eight seasons, a completed manga, a global fanbase — and the anniversary celebrations are a genuine tribute to what the series meant to so many of us.
