Agent 47 has had some unusual marks over the years, but none quite as culturally unmistakable as this: Snoop Dogg is coming to HITMAN World of Assassination as Elusive Target #39, and the mission — The Herbalist — goes live tomorrow, 27 August 2026.
Meet Dr. Cyrus Cane — The Herbalist
In the mission, Snoop Dogg plays Dr. Cyrus Cane, a self-styled pharmaceutical visionary who operates out of a reworked version of Haven Island — the sun-soaked private retreat first introduced in the Hitman 2 DLC. Joining him is his real-life son Cordell C. Broadus, who lends both his likeness and voice work to the mission, making this the first time a father-son duo has appeared together inside the franchise.
Previews of the reveal trailer show Agent 47 cycling through covers — cameraman, music producer — as the mission leans hard into the Doggfather’s persona. Weed-themed items and weed-adjacent humour are apparently front and centre, very much in on the joke.
“It’s definitely an honour to step into a franchise as legendary as HITMAN, with millions of fans,” Snoop Dogg said in IO Interactive’s official announcement.
Free for All Players — Including the Free Demo
The Herbalist runs from 27 August through 26 September 2026 and is completely free for anyone who owns HITMAN World of Assassination. It’s also playable in the Free Demo, so even players who haven’t bought the full game can try it. As with all Elusive Targets, you only get one attempt — no retries, no replays after the window closes, so make it count.
The mission is available on PS5, PS4, PlayStation VR2, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC (Steam and Epic), Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, iPhone, iPad, and Apple silicon Mac. One note for Switch 2 players: that version is delayed slightly to 4 September 2026, so mark the later date if that’s your platform.
The Herbalist Pack and the Full Season Roadmap
Alongside the free Elusive Target, IO Interactive is dropping The Herbalist Pack as a premium add-on from 27 August. It bundles:
- The Visionary — a two-level Arcade contract featuring The Herbalist
- The Herbalist Assignment — a Special Assignment with 16 challenges
- Cosmetics: Entrepreneur Fur Coat, Hustler Tracksuit, Ryte LX2 Custom Mic, Big Biz Briefcase, and the Morsizzle Cookie
- Four Freelancer Safehouse cosmetics
This is shaping up to be a loaded season. The roadmap for the coming weeks reveals that Sean Bean returns in The Undying Returns from 28 September to 25 October, while two in-season challenges — Bloom Where You Are Planted (Aug 27) and Fortune Favors the Bold (Sep 28) — unlock an ICA19 Spider Lily and a Lucky Coin respectively. Twitch Drops are also scheduled, handing out Purple Streak weapons between now and late October.
Why This Is Worth Playing
Hitman’s celebrity Elusive Targets have a track record of being genuinely good missions — Sean Bean’s The Undying was memorable enough that IO brought it back multiple times. Snoop Dogg as a target has obvious novelty value, but Haven Island is a solid map with real assassination variety, and the one-chance nature of Elusive Targets gives the mission real stakes that typical contracts lack.
For Singapore players, the free entry point means there’s zero friction to try it — HITMAN World of Assassination is widely available here on PS5 and PC, and the Free Demo means even the unconverted can jump in tomorrow without spending a cent. If you’ve ever been curious about the series, this is as low-stakes a first try as you’ll get.
