After a thirteen-year silence, one of gaming’s most striking shoot ’em up series is making its comeback. Publisher H2 Interactive and developer Kaminari Games — a subsidiary of MOSS — have announced Caladrius 2: Dark Element for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, with a worldwide Winter 2026 release window.
A Gothic Bullet-Hell Reborn After 13 Years
The original Caladrius launched in 2013 as an Xbox 360 exclusive before making its way to PS3 and PC, building a cult following for its unique marriage of classic vertical-scrolling bullet-hell action with detailed anime character artwork and an audacious signature mechanic that set it apart from every other shooter on the market. That mechanic — the Shame Break system — is back, and Kaminari Games has been careful to evolve it rather than simply recreate it.
Caladrius 2: Dark Element is set in a gothic world where, as the official description puts it, “elegance and madness coexist.” The game features a completely new cast of characters, brought to life by talented illustrators, while retaining the series DNA that earned it its devoted following. Exploration of the new character roster and their abilities remains the game’s emotional and visual centrepiece — who you play is as important as how you play.
Shame Break Returns — More Evolved Than Ever
The signature Shame Break system — in which playable characters and enemy bosses reveal dynamic illustrated cut-in scenes as they take damage in battle — returns with enhanced visuals and a new roster of triggering moments. It remains one of the most distinctive mechanics in the genre, turning each battle into a tense contest where absorbing hits carries visual consequences for both sides of the fight.
Alongside it, the Element Shot system forms the tactical backbone of combat. Players must learn to counter incoming bullet-hell wave patterns using elemental attacks specific to each enemy type, adding strategic depth that prevents the game from becoming pure muscle memory. The interplay between mastering element counters and managing the Shame Break threshold gives Caladrius 2 a risk-reward loop that the original fans will recognise immediately — only with sharper teeth.

Worldwide Release This Winter — What It Means for Singapore
H2 Interactive has confirmed a simultaneous worldwide release across all three platforms, and that’s the detail Singapore and Southeast Asian fans should take note of. H2 Interactive is one of the most prominent physical game publishers across South Korea, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia — their role here strongly suggests a physical Asia edition will accompany the digital launch, meaning local availability at major game retailers and electronics chains at or near launch day. Physical Asia pricing has not been announced yet.
The game launches on Nintendo Switch in addition to PS5 and PC via Steam, broadening its reach to one of Singapore’s most popular gaming platforms. The announcement trailers were released in English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese simultaneously — a signal that H2 Interactive and Kaminari Games are treating Asia as a primary market from the start.
