Aniimo Launches 16 September Free — Catch 200+ Creatures on PS5, PC and Mobile

Singapore gamers who love catching, raising, and battling creatures have a big date to circle: 16 September 2026. That is when Aniimo, the free-to-play creature-catching open-world RPG from Pawprint Studio, launches globally on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store). The mobile version follows a week later on 23 September for iOS and Android.

With more than 28 million pre-registrations worldwide, Aniimo is one of the most-anticipated creature-collecting games since Pokémon Legends: Z-A — and it is free to download from day one.

Explore the Continent of Idyll and Build Your Aniimo Team

Set on the sprawling continent of Idyll, Aniimo puts players in an open world teeming with over 200 unique creature types. Weather, time of day, and terrain all affect where and when specific Aniimo appear, so exploration is always rewarding. Capture them using Aniipods, raise them, and assemble a party you can take into battle or show off to the community.

The Twining System — See Idyll Through New Eyes

Aniimo’s headline mechanic is Twining: players can literally merge with a caught Aniimo, experiencing the world from that creature’s perspective and using its abilities in real time. Glide over cliffs as a winged beast, burrow underground as a tunnelling creature, or dive into rivers with an aquatic companion. It is a traversal and puzzle-solving system that sets the game apart from most creature-collectors.

Multiplayer: Egg Heist and Cross-Platform Co-Op

Beyond the solo adventure, Aniimo ships with cross-platform multiplayer from launch. The signature mode is Egg Heist, a 3-player PvEvP challenge where teams race to collect eggs scattered across a shared map while fending off rival squads and wild Aniimo. There are also co-op PvE zones where players can hunt rare Aniimo together. Because the game is cross-platform at launch, you can team up with friends on PS5, PC, or mobile in the same session.

Homeland Customisation and Paid Editions

Each player gets a personal Homeland — an RV-style base that can be parked in multiplayer zones. Farm crops, decorate your space, and show it off to other players passing through. It is a chill counterpoint to the creature-catching action.

The base game is free, but PlayStation Store and Xbox Store are also offering two premium editions for those who want a head start:

  • Advanced Edition — US$9.99: includes exclusive accessories and a battle pass bundle
  • Collector’s Edition — US$19.99: larger bundle with exclusive in-game cosmetics and items

No SGD pricing has been confirmed yet for the premium editions — check the PlayStation Store or Steam closer to launch for local currency rates.

When and Where to Get It in Singapore

Aniimo is a global free-to-play launch, which means Singapore gamers can download it from day one on 16 September with no region barriers. Grab it from the Steam page, the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, or Epic Games Store on PC; mobile pre-registration is open now on the App Store and Google Play. The game supports English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Thai, among other languages.

If 28 million pre-registrations are any indication, the servers on launch day are going to be busy — worth pre-loading ahead of time. For more game releases hitting Singapore this month, keep an eye on the blog.
