A month out from launch, Konami and Screen Burn Interactive have dropped an 18-minute gameplay showcase for Silent Hill: Townfall — and it answers a lot of questions about how this first-person horror actually plays. The game lands on PS5 (and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store) on September 24, 2026, with Singapore physical copies already available for pre-order at ToyOrgame.sg.
As we covered back in July, Townfall takes the series to a Scottish island setting for the first time — a coastal town called St. Amelia in 1996, where protagonist Simon Ordell arrives after receiving a letter involving a nurse named Zoe. The new trailer goes far beyond what was shown before, putting two full sections of the game on display.

Konami has also confirmed a brand-new story trailer will premiere at Gamescom Opening Night Live tonight, so expect even more before the week is out.
What the 18 Minutes Show

The showcase splits across two sections. The first puts Simon in the St. Amelia Shorefront — fog-choked alleyways, darkened shopfronts, and an island that clearly has not welcomed visitors in a long time. Navigation relies on environmental clues and the CRTV, Simon’s cobbled-together portable television that picks up signals no living person should be broadcasting.
The second section crosses into the Otherworld — the series’ signature red-lit, architecturally impossible horror dimension — where stealth and evasion are the primary tools. Simon can hide, lure enemies away with distractions, or when cornered, draw the revolver he has picked up along the way. Combat is deliberately limited. Director Jon McKellan of Screen Burn Interactive described the design principle clearly: “Puzzles and problems intertwine with narrative directly, often telling part of the story in their setup or solutions.”
The CRTV and DualSense Integration

The CRTV is the game’s centrepiece mechanic — part threat detector, part puzzle tool, part map. On PS5, it uses the DualSense gyroscope for antenna aiming and frequency tuning, letting you physically tilt the controller to dial in signals. The haptic feedback layer makes it quietly terrifying: the controller pulses as creatures move nearby, even when you cannot see them.
Adaptive triggers add further weight to the revolver — resistance builds as you squeeze the R2 trigger, with feedback sharpening when you actually fire. For anyone who played Silent Hill 2‘s PS5 version and found that DualSense integration effective, Townfall looks to take it further.
The Otherworld — and What Makes This Silent Hill

This is Konami’s third consecutive autumn Silent Hill launch — following Silent Hill 2 in 2024 and Silent Hill f in 2025. Series producer Motoi Okamoto acknowledged the deliberate cadence: “Silent Hill: Townfall marks our third consecutive year of launching in the same season.”
Screen Burn Interactive is a new studio — but the creative DNA lines up. The Otherworld sequences on display are genuinely unsettling: twisted tenement corridors bathed in red light, creatures that respond to sound before sight, and an atmosphere built on what you hear rather than what you see.
Editions, Pre-Order Bonuses, and the PS5 Exclusivity Window

There are two digital editions, and both reward early buyers on PS5:
- Standard Edition (Early Purchase / Pre-Purchase): Full game + CRTV Style: Rusted + CRTV Style: Beach Edition — the Beach Edition cosmetic is a PS5-exclusive bonus.
- Deluxe Edition (Digital Pre-Purchase): Full game + Simon’s Outfit: Alternate + Digital Artbook + Digital Soundtrack + 48-hour early access — Deluxe pre-purchasers can play from September 22.
On exclusivity: Townfall is a PS5 console-timed exclusive. The game’s own fine print states it will “not [be] available on other consoles until at least 6 months after release date.” An Xbox version is possible around March 2027, but nothing has been confirmed. PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) launches alongside PS5 on September 24.
