Pokopia’s Cloud Island Opens August 28 — What the Worlds 2026 Preview Revealed

Grab your mysterious goggles — the big Pokémon Pokopia reveal from the 2026 Worlds Preview Show is here. A brand-new Cloud Island themed around PokémonXP and the Pokémon World Championships will open inside Pokémon Pokopia on August 28, coinciding exactly with the first day of Worlds 2026 in San Francisco.

What Is the PokémonXP & Worlds Cloud Island?

The Cloud Island is a special location inside Pokémon Pokopia — the Nintendo Switch 2 island life game that has now cleared five million global sales — designed to celebrate both PokémonXP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships. The official reveal, made during the WCS 2026 Preview Show broadcast on 21 August, confirmed that players will be able to visit and explore the island once it goes live on 28 August.

Think of it as Pokopia’s own pop-up event space: a player-made island decked out in Worlds and PokémonXP branding, dropping at the exact moment the championships begin. The Pokémon Company has asked fans which Pokémon should get to live on the Cloud Island — so expect something Worlds-flavoured when you arrive.

How to Get In — You’ll Need Your Mysterious Goggles

Accessing any Cloud Island in Pokopia works through the game’s mysterious goggles mechanic: you enter an island address code to fly over and visit a specific player island. The code for the PokémonXP & Worlds Cloud Island will be revealed publicly during the Pokémon Pokopia stream at PokémonXP, which begins on 28 August when the championships kick off. Watch the official Pokémon Twitch channel or the Play! Pokémon YouTube channel when the event starts to catch the code as it drops.

If you have not yet unlocked the mysterious goggles in your Pokopia save, now is the time to make it a priority — without them, you cannot visit any off-island locations in the game.

Worlds 2026 Is Almost Here — And Singapore Is Right Behind It

The 2026 Pokémon World Championships run from 28–30 August at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. The event brings together the world’s top-ranked trainers across Pokémon VGC (Video Game Championships, played on Pokémon Champions), the Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO, and more. You can stream it free on the official Pokémon Twitch and YouTube channels.

For Singapore trainers, the competitive season has barely begun. As we covered last week, the 2026–27 Pokémon Asia Championship Series opens on 1 September with Singapore as a stop — so Worlds 2026 is effectively the curtain-raiser for our own regional season. Worth watching closely.

The Cloud Island drops 28 August. Stay tuned for more Pokémon news as Worlds 2026 gets underway.
