Blue Archive Bans 122,046 Accounts in Biggest Wave Yet for Exploiting In-Game Mechanics

Blue Archive’s developer has dropped its biggest ban hammer yet. A total of 122,046 player accounts on the global EN server have been permanently banned following an August 13 enforcement action targeting players who exploited the game’s systems for an unfair competitive edge.

The official @EN_BlueArchive account confirmed the disciplinary action on X, stating that the accounts were banned for “abusing in-game mechanics to gain an unfair advantage over others.” All 122,046 bans are permanent, with no reinstatement window mentioned in the announcement.

This is Blue Archive’s largest single enforcement action on record. Earlier this year, two separate waves removed 23,268 accounts in May and 25,536 accounts in June — the June wave was explicitly linked to score manipulation in the competitive Total Assault and Grand Assault raid modes. The August wave exceeds both of those combined, and by a wide margin.

What is Blue Archive?

Blue Archive is a tactical RPG gacha from Nexon and developer NAT Games, set in Kivotos — a sprawling city-academy where players take the role of a sensei guiding student squads through story missions and competitive multiplayer events. Originally launched in South Korea in 2021, the game has since expanded to a global EN server and is available on mobile and Steam, building a loyal following across Southeast Asia.

Why This Matters for Singapore Players

The EN server is the primary access point for players in Singapore and across Southeast Asia. Competitive events like Total Assault and Grand Assault distribute rewards — including exclusive characters and premium currency — based on global leaderboard standings. When accounts artificially inflate their scores, legitimate players are pushed down the rankings and lose out on the rewards that reflect their actual effort.

The scale of this wave is striking. The official statement did not specify which mechanics were abused or whether third-party tools were involved — the studio typically keeps those details private to avoid informing future bad actors. But the sheer numbers suggest Nexon’s detection systems have made a substantial improvement, sweeping up a population nearly five times larger than anything seen in a single prior action.
