If you’ve been adventuring in Eorzea on Nintendo Switch 2 without paying a cent, that grace period is over. Square Enix’s complimentary one-month subscription \u2014 bundled with the Switch 2 launch on 4 August<\/a> \u2014 ended on 7 September 2026. From today, keeping your account active on Switch 2 means buying into Square Enix’s new FFXIV Coins system. Here’s everything Singapore players need to know.\n<\/p>\n

What Happened on 7 September \u2014 and What Happens Now<\/h2>\n

The complimentary subscription Square Enix provided at launch has now lapsed for all Switch 2 players. If you’ve just picked up the game, you still get breathing room: registering a Starter Edition or Complete Edition today kicks off a fresh 30-day trial before any payment is required. That trial works the same way the launch window did \u2014 full access, no charge \u2014 so if you haven’t dipped in yet, now is still a reasonable time to start.<\/p>\n

Once that 30-day period runs out, continuing to play requires FFXIV Coins purchased directly from the Nintendo eShop. These coins are the only accepted payment method for Switch 2 subscriptions, Mog Station services, and the in-game store on that platform. There’s no way to pay with a credit card directly through Square Enix on Switch 2.<\/p>\n
